Sister Wives

I know I won't forget! I'm half tempted to go look that episode up and watch it again. :rotfl:
I know! all of this talk about them makes me want to go start from the beginning. Because now we're all experts, we can get to the source of the problems. :joker:

It’s comical how now that the wives are on the same page to get on with building the homes there’s all of a sudden no money. It’s a tic for tac. He can’t get his big house so they can’t get their own houses. He’s a control freak and likes screwing with the wives. It’s a mind game.
I never thought of it that way but you're right! I think his little temper tantrum is designed to first draw sympathy from the wives (that seem to be fed up and onto him) and secondly to buy time in hopes of getting his way.

I'm all for the big house myself. It's sooo painfully obvious that Christine saying, "No privacy for you" really means, "No privacy for me". It's all over her face and Kody sees through all of that "this is for YOU" bs. I just wish he'd make a "priestholder" decision and tell his wives to deal with it. Move in the big house or don't. This is the home he's providing for his family, and that's that! He's NEVER going to be able to please 4 different personalities. That's WHY there is a head of household. His first mistake was making this a democracy. You can't do that with a bunch of jealous B's! lol I want to scream "LEAD YOUR FAMILY KODY!" I think as mormons, they would have far more respect for Kody if he actually LEAD. They're tired of his crap because he doesn't act like a man and take charge. They think he's a flake. If I had been Janelle, I would have never uprooted my kids before they graduated for another one of Kody's whims. There was no reason whatsoever to rush moving. That shows just how dedicated she is to this priestholder thing, because she's the most level headed of the bunch and she still jumped when it was time to jump.

Jumping in here to say I’ve never watched the show but every time I see this thread I think “oh! I wish I could get a sister wife!” Like I’d love to have someone around here to help with the kids and house stuff and occasionally *other things * when I’m not I’m the mood 😂😂😂 Just me??
No, not just you! lol I'd totally do it if there were only one or two other wives. lol At 49, I don't want anyone up in my space all the time and lord knows, I'd be happy for someone else to have to do the "other stuff". LOL!!! My only problem is, I don't have or want kids. Mine or anyone elses, so I wouldn't fit the bill. haha

The whole thing with Christine saying “I don’t want to see him leaving on a date with another wife” had me cracking up. WTH do you think he does with her. Janelle is the most level headed when she told her “don’t look!” You are a plural wife. That’s what you signed up for. I don’t think Christine cares if he goes out with meri or janelle. Her issue is Robyn.

I think one big house makes the most sense too. For now. But once they try to move it won’t be easy to sell. But then that may force Kody to settle down.

Kody is a jerk who just wants to have fun and easy relationships. He wants to swoop in and play with kids and have an adoring wife who wants to serve him. He admitted that he doesn’t want to work on a relationship when he has other easier ones available to him. Christine really wants to be the only wife at this point no matter what she’s said in the past. They definitely are not an advertisement for plural marriage.
So true. Christine was the one with the quote at the beginning of the show saying, "I wanted the family, not just the man." Now all of the sudden she's jealous of everyone else? I wonder what happened to bring on that change? We all know that Kody isn't the best at nurturing his relationships and I can only imagine at this stage of life for the women, things are changing. I'm willing to bet that we're starting to deal with the emotional changes that come with menopause and that's going to make for some fun viewing lol.

Yeah, what's the difference in Kody and another wife leaving from one house or from the one next to you with a 10 foot gap? He said they would all have their own entrances. It's so annoying! She just wants to pull away I think.

Robyn changed Christine. Christine always wanted to be a third wife because there’s less jealousy on the third wife since the worst has passed with the first two. She also expected to be the last wife and she was for about 15 years. It must be hard to watch your husband pick up a new young wife when you are big and pregnant with baby #6.

I am a few seasons behind but that comment cracks me up too. I remember one of the very first episodes the three wives were sitting on the couch talking about how funny it was that people ask them if they have a hard time dealing with their husband having sex with another woman and Christine said she just wanted to tell people "well gosh darn it he better!!" Basically saying a healthy sex life with each wife was important to the family as a whole. So 10 years ago she was cool with that but now she can't watch them go on a date? Where does she think all those kids came from?

I agree with you. I was just going to post that my understanding regarding one big house is that it must have one front entrance. Wasn’t that it? Christine doesn’t want to know when Kody is going out with another wife. Seriously? Grow up, Christine. The man is having marital relations with three other women. You have known this from Day 1 and it is what you signed up for. One big house is the answer if they want to live as a family. Kody needs to man up.

I do recall that from the way the property is zoned, they can't build multi-unit dwellings. Even if the house has four "units" it must have one main entrance to qualify as a single-family home. That said, I can't see any reason why the units can't have back entrances. My townhome has a front door and three sliding glass doors that lead to various patios. We could come and go from the back of the house if we wanted to. I would think for fire safety, they would definitely have side or back exits from each unit. They could sneak out on their dates without using the front door.

I also don't buy some of Christine's other objections to the big house. She said it was miserable in Utah when they had to fix meals together, decide what to eat, when to eat, etc. That wouldn't be a problem since they would all have their own full living areas with their own kitchens. They wouldn't have to eat together! If they wanted to plan a gathering, they would have it in Kody's living area/kitchen. Otherwise, the day-to-day stuff would still be on their own. The main idea of the large area was for the kids to gather and hang out with each other. That would really help develop closer relationships between siblings from different moms. The older kids had that experience in Utah. The younger kids didn't get that as much in Vegas and definitely aren't getting it now. Christine can stay in her own unit, do her own things and shut the blinds if she doesn't want to see people coming and going!

If I remember correctly each unit would have their own back exit/entrance BUT the main entrance would have to be used when they drive in due to where the parking garage area would be. They could use their back entrance to walk around the grounds, etc. I guess they could walk all the way around to get to the parking garage area but it would be a long walk and not easy to do? Sounds like too much work.

You're right! I totally forgot that she said that. Something is going on that we can't see apparently to make her feel differently. I mean it doesn't take much to make us middle age gals feel insecure....at least for me. lol It could be so little as Kody complemented on wife and not her for all we know. I wish I were a fly on the wall.

I recall at some point she said that in the beginning she didn't understand why wives tended to struggle with jealousy and insecurity issues when a new wife came into the family but after Kody married Robyn she understood. She had always been the last wife to join the family so hadn't experienced having to adjust to someone new before and it totally changed her perspective.

I also recall a conversation when the wives were talking about phone calls with Kody when he and Robyn were on their honeymoon and Janelle said she and Kody would have lengthy conversations and Christine said she only had short conversations with him because she was never valued as an intellectual. I thought that c was so sad.

Kody should just announce he’s adding another wife since he wants to multiple their blessings with more kids. It would all hit the fan and be hysterical to watch 🤣

Umm, I don’t think he is having “relations“ with all of the wives. Merri is too busy looking at trees on Coyote Pass to be interested

Oh my gosh. Okay. So... little "back story" is I often dream about one of the last things I was thinking about/watching. So having a dream about something does NOT mean I'm obsessed. Just had to get that out there. 😆 Now. That being said, I totally had a dream that I was watching Sister Wives and he announced he was getting married to TWO more women at the same time.
