I have a single friend that is considering going along on our 2/1/03 cruise, but she's afraid that there won't be a lot for a single 30s something to do. She's also afraid she won't meet other singles to hang out with. Does anyone have any experience with this? What should I tell her?

Well, sometimes it's hard to tell who is single and who is married, of course. I know there is always a "singles mixer," but being married I've never gone, even when cruising solo. But on Halloween I'm taking my 30-something nephew on the Wonder for his birthday, and he is single. I'm sure there are many other such circumstances. Your friend would probably have a great time and find others to hang out with.

On our cruise in December, we had two single gals as our dining companions. Both seemed to really enjoy the trip and found other singles to hang out with as well as with us married folk, although they doubted they would ever travel Disney again (just not like the Carnival atmosphere).

I traveled solo with my daughter in 2001. We were seated at a table with singles and couples and we had a ball. This year I added my mother to the mix and we ended up with another family, which was ok but we had nothing in common and so didn't really mesh but with my mom along didn't look for folks to hang out with either. Hoping when we go in December 2003 and it is just my daughter and I again that we end up at a table with a mixture of folks so that we can take advantage of the dynamics.

Terrye, I think all that schoolwork this summer has fried your brain, my friend!! LOL Hello, remember me, going with you, had an absolute ball last cruise as a single??? :D Give her my email -- I'd love to go in with a partner in crime already with me. ;)

And I haven't forgotten about you or our 2/1 thread -- just been crazy busy lately!!

hugs,

Tracy is the same way...I'm almost afraid to introduce you two!!! *picturing the trouble you two will get into* I will definately forward your address to her. I've also pointed her to this message board. (BIG wavies to Tracy!!)

ROFL!!!! I wonder if the Cruise Staff ever recovered from that wild group of singles we managed to amass after that first night?? ;)

Yep, anyone on our upcoming 2/1 cruise looking for a mini-DIS-meet need look no further than Rockin' Bar D every night... *grin* Terrye, you're going to have to deposit DH at the ESPN Skybox one night, and come be single with us. ;)

Tracy?? Where are you, Tracy?? We have plans to make, girl!! LOL!!
