Singer/dancer auditions

Just a quick question. Has anyone auditioned for Disney? If you have, can you tell me (my daughter) what to expect. It would be nice to have some imput before we make the trip down in January.

Hope someone has some info.

Well, I've never done the dancer auditions but I've been to about 3 of the singer auditions. They ask you to prepare 16 bars of 2 songs- an uptempo and a ballad, although I've never gotten to do more than one, so sing your best first. Also, bring a photo and resume.

When you get there, you are given a number and placed in a room with everyone else. Then you wait...and wait....gosh, I've had to sit around for nearly 3 hrs sometimes. They call you in by numbers, ususally about 10 at a time, and you sit outside another room and enter one at a time and do your first song. The people behind the table will usually either say "thank you very much" or they may give you a callback. The nice thing is you will know immediately if you have been given a callback. I haven't gotten that far yet, but I was asked to sing a little of the national anthem because my resume mentioned the time I sang it at a hockey game.

Can you tell me the average age of females who auditioned while you were there?

I would have to guess that the average age was within 5 years of mine- I'll be 22 next month.

This question came to mind for me this summer. Not that I had wanted to audition but rather do they hire for just one show such as Hunchback or are you hired, work for Diseny and are plugged in as they need you. I was wondering if any of the Hunchback performers would be appearing anywhere else??

I was also wondering if you are hired for the length of the show. I noticed one of the warm up perfomers at Hunchback performing at Universal in the Sinbad Show last year.

The performers in the Tarzan Show are the ones that kill me. HOw do you train and where to becoming a skating stunt monkey. Wayyyyy to old to do that now but in my next life....
