Silly question kind of. BEST way from Poly to MK for opening.

Ok I understand how obvious that sounds. But the reason I ask is that most of the information I find says that the Monorail begins running 30 minutes prior to park opening (so 8:30 on a 9am opening). When my DW and myself went to MK a few days ago (from the Swan) they started operating multiple attractions at 8:30. Does anyone have experience with this or ideas on the best way to get there to start attractions right when they open? There’s a 7am breakfast monorail but that may be a bit much.

I know that it’s close to being finished, but I’m not sure if gas can use it yet. But you might check and see if the walkway from the Grand Floridian is open yet. Are you saying that the resort monorail only operates at 7 AM and then not again until 8:30? If it runs in between, you could also take the monorail to the contemporary and walk to Magic Kingdom from there.

Doesn't the monorail stop at MK first though? If you're at the Poly you'd stop at GF, then MK, then Contemporary. Getting off at Contemporary would take longer, plus you'd have to go through security a second time - once at Poly before boarding the monorail, and again on the walkway from Contemporary.

I do not think the monorail stops at the MK before 8:30, and people have reported that the park has been opening earlier than that. I think the OP wanted to get the MK before 8:30.

You can always walk to the TTC and take the ferry or monorail from there. Very quick walk, especially staying in the villas as they’re closer to the TTC than the GCH in most cases.

Yes, but those are also not starting as early as the OP would like.

Hoping someone has an answer. Doesn't seem right someone can drive into the parks and get in earlier than DVC members staying at the resorts.

No, people can‘t drive to MK and get in earlier. If they drive, they park at the TTC. If the TTC transports aren’t running that early, the only people getting in early are resort guests on resort busses. I’m not sure what time the TTC ferry’s start because I haven’t parked at TTC since the parks reopened. But that’s going to be your best, and probably only bet, if the monorail from Poly isn’t running early enough for you.

Transportation to mk from the ttc opens around 8:15, as soon as the parking lot opens, the resort monorail stops at mk at the same time, the walkway from the poly opens at thr same time, the walkway from the gf is RUMORED to open with the resort on the 21st

that might be an option. When I asked a cast member today they made it sound as if it’s running in between but emphasized “for reservations” so I’m not sure how thoroughly they’d be checking that

This is what we did today from the Pol....we got to ttc at 805 and there were already many many ppl ahead of us...we got on what i assume was 4th monorail of the day. We plan at being at ttc earlier on our next mk day. Walkway from GF did not look useable yet.

so both monorails arrive TO MK around the same time? Or the resort monorail arrives as the ttc is starting? Sorry, just want to clarify.

the monorails never arrive to MK at the same time, the express monorail has no stops and the resort monorail has 4 and soon only 3. Around the same time? yes but not at the same time. some days the express monorail doesn't run at opening and only way from the TTC is ferry

The answer to the OP's question depends on when you are going.

Monorail will no longer stop at the Poly starting early October due to the Poly refurbishment. Don't know the operational times, but the Disney website probably lists them. If staying at Poly after October, your choices would be: 1) walking to TTC to take the monorail to MK, 2) Poly bus service (assuming that is offered) or 3) if open, that new pathway to MK (which is a rather long walk).

There are 2 monorail loops associated with Magic Kingdom. One only runs express service between TTC and MK. The other loop runs in a circle between MK, Contemporary, TTC, Poly (until Oct), Floridian. Both of those monorails operate independently in continuous loops during whatever operational hours they have that day.

There’s also the ferry from TTC or the boat from Poly.

^^ Correct, I was mostly trying to clarify the operation of the monorail since some prior posters didn't seem to know how those work.

Just curious if you have or know any experience...the poly says transport to mk via monorail starts at 825....r u saying u can board and they'll stop at mk before 825 from the poly/resorts?

Yes, I'm also curious as if the resort monorail doesn't stop at mk until 830 that would've def been a good amount latee than the first couple express monorails tgis morning

I was at the Grand Floridian this weekend. Resort monorail begins at 7:00 between the resorts. Starting at 8 it also stops at the Mk. We got on two days around 8:15 for MK.

that’s good to hear, and I hope it wasn’t just for the weekend. Definitely earlier than it was stopping in August.
