*sigh* things have changed so much around here

My "namecalling" wasn't directed at anyone in particular. It was only an example of what usually happens.

That would be because the Mods do a superhuman job of cleaning up the namecalling. Whenever you see posts disappearing, that's why.

That could certainly be one of the reasons. Hard to say, since I haven't seen all of the posts in question before they disappeared.

My first post dsappeared early on, about page 5, I think, and it wasn't about any one person. It was about the bully mentality in general around here lately.

As I said though, I can't really say since I'm sure I didn't see all the posts that have since disappeared. Glad you did. Thanks for keeping on top of that for the rest of us.

Don't forget....I was JerseyJanice for a day or two as well, although that turned out to be an Admin error. I feel sorry for the real JerseyJanice because the conspiracy theory that we're the same poster is too delicious for some to resist.

What can I say? Everyone wants to be like me. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Computer stuff like changing a person's account doesn't happen by chance. (That's not conspiracy theory.) Why in the world would any board admin go and make changes to someone's account? If you weren't Carly_Roach, but JJ instead, how could you even sign on?

Just like Pinnie and Gina2000 (and others) have said...I don't see any improvement here either. There are many of the same type of posts I read a year ago are still popping up...and the same type of responses are being handed out...just by different people. It's definitely no better, and quite possibly a lot worse because I'm noticing the humor is gone. I always appreciated those silly, quirky funny remarks in a "hot" thread...but now I never seem to find them.

No one is perfect, but as a public forum I expected more "public" and less exclusivity, my bad for stressing the word "public".

Well, I just wanted to say thanks to all the contributors on this thread. It's made me realize I need to spend more time focusing my energies on the important things in life. This was just exhausting and for what? There isn't going to be a big circle of virtual DISers holding hands and singing Kumbaya and living together in cordial harmony no matter what anyone says. Agree to disagree. If you don't like where you live then move. I just don't see the benefit of beating this over and over.

There are a ton of people I miss that are no longer here. I don't :::heart::: everyone who posts here nor everyone who is gone. If I said I did then I'd be lying. If you don't like what the CB or the DIS has become then maybe your happy place is elsewhere. If you think the CB isn't fun anymore, doesn't make you think or present challenges then contribute more to the forums. If you don't feel like that is an option due to the rules then again maybe another forum would suit your style better.

The point is that life is too short to expend ALL THIS ENERGY over something that quite frankly the only control any of us has is to participate or not. I guess we should all be thankful we do have the time and energy to spend doing this other than worrying about the real problems in life, like the fires in CA or the flooding throughout the Midwest.

I'm not "staying on top" of anything. I just mention what I notice when I happen to be around to notice it. If your comment about bullies was removed, then there must have been an obvious reason for it's removal.

I guess the best/funniest people are gone.

Mikeeee

no way - i'm still here :thumbsup2

i too find "clicky" threads but i tend to stay away from them - not saying they all do but i've found in the past some sites/threads seem to ignore you if you "don't fit" or weren't there from the start.

i've posted some great topics that die - i just hold a short ceremony and let them rip.

Hmph...

Well since I, as well as a few others, posted virtually the same thing later and it wasn't removed, then I'm not too sure what the "obvious reason" could been.

Interesting how you can say "there must have been an obvious reason" for everything except the mysterious happenings surrounding the whole Carly Roach/Jersey Janice thing.

I don't see why anyone cares that you used to be someone else, but by the same token, I can't fathom why you keep denying it either.

:confused3 Call me naive but I have never seen name calling on any thread I have read :confused3

Oh wait, I forgot about the name calling earlier in this thread about the banned being called d-bags.
Funny that didn't seem to disappear :rolleyes1

I just read the whole thread (yeh, slow day at work).

I disagree with the OP. Things haven't changed much on the CB......it's just slower because so many frequent contributors are no longer here.

Some of my posts in this thread have disappeared and I NEVER called anyone a name.

I'm interested in what you are saying, darlak. Are you thinking Carly was JeresyJanice or what? Thanks for your answer.

I thought *I* was Carly! **pout** :cutie:

Wait - if Carly was JerseyJanis - does that make me JerseyJanis since I was believed to be Carly???

Who is JerseyJanis, anyways?

Are we all the same person?

Thanks for asking this Buck - cuz I need to know who I am. ;)

Well, if you were her, you could at least spell her name correctly. *rolls eyes* Geez...

I'll just wait to hear the thought on that incident.

My bad.

Im patiently waiting as well. :hyper:

Truthfully Buckalew, I have no idea. There was so much other stuff going on at the same time around here, that I just couldn't be too interested. It just seemed to be an interesting little side item at the time.

I do find it interesting now though that she always claims that every other thing that's happened around here was by design of TPTB and with a clear intent, but that little glitch was just a mysterious accident.

I don't know or actually even care who she was before, but I have no doubt that she had some other Dis identity before this one. The speculation I have read is interesting, but not intriguing enough to warrant investigation. I've seen some posts by JerseyJanice and if it's not the same poster, it certainly is someone with a very similar posting style, especially when she's obviously irritated.
