Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2026 Edition

Quoting myself, turns out they started this already as of this morning. We were on the side that was held, but they only held us for about half of the other side to get through. Don't think it made a big difference.
Thanks for reporting back. So did they have a cast member in the room with you or did they stop you after you went through the doors? Curious as to what side you were on.

There were a few CMs just on the other side of the doors, so when they opened they blocked people on the right side from moving forward until roughly half the people going through the left door were through. They said it'll change sides each time so no one should know which side goes first. They also had additional CMs stationed along the hall to guide people through which I've never seen before.

I honestly don't think it made much of a difference, people still rushed the doors in the last preshow room, and unless you're some of the first people on the side that is let through first, it doesn't really seem to improve the flow much. I did like they were trying to enforce staying with your party once the doors opened instead of having one person rush through and then have the rest join them, but a few groups still did that.

Thanks...I really wish they would just keep a line for preshows. It can be done (great movie ride) used to have it and it would cut down on so much unnecessary behavior issues/parties being split up/jockying for "your spot."

Exactly the metal railings should snake people in and out of the preshow areas. You can lose a lot of time when people rush the doors as well as causing accidents to happen. And as someone who has a family member on a scooter it makes it even worse. I don't know why they have us all go from an orderly line to a large group down to another orderly line. It encourages bad behavior.

While I think more organization would work well, it was easier in GMR as the pre-show ran constantly. If Guardians tried to have a snake-like line of railings people needed to weave through it would take a large amount of time and I believe lead to a less efficient boarding of the ride as the queues would not be able to keep up with the rate guests need to depart the pre-show rooms.

Glad they've made changes. We tend to walk in and go to the left in the pre-shows, just to avoid the mad dash at the end.

I think with how busy this is they could still make it work since you have another line after the pre-shows. And if the groups are smaller they could take some of the ropes on the ends down so people didn't have to snake into all of the rows. This is absolutely something they could make happen even with the pre-shows not being continuous. Or they could change the pre-show to be continuous.

10000% Disney could make this work and could have easily made it work before it opened and it's frustrating they create these types of situations. I feel this way about all rides that throw ppl. into mass rooms with no line and then want them to get back in a line with 0 organization. Honestly it puts a damper on the ride for us and there are times that we skip certain rides just because we don't want to deal with that part...but I suppose thats a plus for Disney.

For Guardians we usually wait for the crowd to do the mad dash and stay behind. It doesn't add that much wait time and we figure we go often enough, we can be in the back until we're joined by the next mad dash

Right - it doesn't really add to your wait time at all. I mean, if you enter the room first and leave it last, you wait, what, an extra two minutes? I just don't see it as a probllem. The only isssue is the people who DO treat it like a mad-dash - but if everyone just moved along in an orderly fashion, it's just no big deal.

I was on a scooter and run into the wall going up the ramp. The scooter caught on the handrail and almost tipped over. It was the scariest moment for me, but thankfully a man behind me stopped the crowd. I never knew I had that strength, but I lifted the scooter! I love this ride, but I'm happy now to wait for others to go out first.
Same thing happpened to me at Flight of Passage... my sccoter decided to climb the wall of the cave like queue. Luckily in my early years, I had been an active horse person and knew how to get that critter back on four legs... not without some nasty scratches on the scooter, but luckily I had purchased the damage waiver so I was not on the hook for that.

I think the people behind me were more scared than I was at the time... later, I relived that moment over and over thinking of having the thing tip over backwards on top of me!!

Now I always let the surge of the crowd in ahead of me since the time they will save is pretty minimal.
