HI GUYS!! I am back again! I know I keep poking my head in and saying hi then disappearing for a while. Well, we are still getting ready for our big trip to WDW in less than two weeks! PLUS we have had to deal with Hurricane Gustav. Luckily it didn't hit here or do any damage...still school was out a day and we were trying to prepare for the worst! Now onto watching IKE! Looks like we may leave early for Disney if this thing comes here. We may stay through the storm and see how our home fares then if the power is out for a while and school is cancelled (like what happened in 2004 with H. Ivan) then we may head to Orlando early for some Air Condition and fun! We shall see!
I am happy to report that I weighed in and have lost 4 more pounds (I think that is the total since my last post here) so that means since last August, I have lost 46 lbs! I am 4lbs from winning my $$ bet w/ my dad!! Oh YEAH!!
Now that I know how to quote multiple posts, I'm gonna try to be more talkative to everyone!

I use Bob Marley to work out. It's not pump up music by any means. For some reason it makes me think of Florida or El Caribe and.....rum soaked umbrella drinks. It motivates me to the point that I no longer want to look like a polar bear on the beach. And it's calming...the music, not the image of me looking like a polar bear. I'm pasty white, not furry like a bear though!
Yep...I LOVE Bob Marley too!! Love that tropical sound...and I live near the beach so even more reason to get slim here! HA!
I lost 3 lbs last week (the 2 I'd gained the previous week plus 1). Hopefully I can continue the loss this week!!

Just checking in again. I had a bad 2 week run. Now I'm doing pretty good again. It seems like every month around the time my visitor is supposed to come things go horribly awry and despite my best efforts I can't do anything to control it. Thank god I am past that time of the month and things are going better
I know what ya mean sister!! Hello!! I always plateau out or gain during Aunt Flo!! ARGH!! And talk about cravings...I wanna eat everything in sight! I dunno how to solve that problem!
I'm here. As of today I have lost a total of 68!

I would ideally like to lose another 20 before my trip. I hope I can stay on track and not lose it again like I did this month!

WOW!! 68 lbs is amazing!! I am with ya on wanting to lose some extra before the trip. We are going for FREE dining in less than two weeks and of course we upgraded to the Deluxe! I am just mentally preparing myself to gain some weight b/c I will eat what I want on my trip. The hardest part is coming home and getting right back on my diet. I've done this twice and fallen off the wagon! I will be hanging out more here after our trip b/c I need y'alls accountability! Maybe we can get back on track together after our trips!!
I am happy to report I have almost hit my goal weight. And oddly, I'm at peace with not being exactly at it. What will be, will be. My Disney vacation is two weeks away, I feel good, healthy, and am looking forward to it so much. For those of you who don't remember, my aim was 145. Originally this past winter I was up around 158. Got down to 150 and had trouble losing those last stubborn pounds.
In the past couple of weeks, they've come off.

GREAT JOB!! Whoo HOO!! I only wish I was at 150! I am only 14lbs from that but still the sound of 150 is awesome! Keep up the awesome work!
I love eating out. There are times I prefer a home-cooked meal but for the most part I'm totally okay with restaurants.
Does anyone else get stuck on the same 2-3 pounds? TK, I think you did. What'd you do? How'd you get past it?
My dh, ds and I eat out almost every night! We are extremely busy most nights w/ our church or something. Just seems to be our way! I've learned to eat off the menu healthy most of the time...except when DH wants a freakin' Bloomin' Onion at Outback! ARGH! I could slap him!
As for the same 2-3 lbs...I was there...I plateaued and got mad. So, I took a few days off. I ate all kinds of bad food and stopped my meds for a few days. Then I went back HARD on it and stuck strictly to my diet/meds and the weight started falling off again. Maybe you need a diet vacation for a weekend!

Marital Status: Married to my best friend for 2 years.
Kids: Our son is 17 months old and he is my little honey bunny

Weight: 218....This summer I went from 226 to 218..down 8 lbs so far..
Goals: To be healthy and have enough energy to keep up with my son, to love myself and feel pretty, to feel deserving of my husband's love again. OK now I'm crying!!! I'm going to stop there with the emotional stuff...
Weight loss goal: I want to be around 145 lbs so from this point I need to lose 73 lbs.
My story: I've been overweight all my life. In the spring of 2004 I weighed 232 lbs and decided to go on a low carb diet. By Christmas of 2004 I was down to 160. In Spring of 2005 I was 140 lbs. So in a year I lost 92 lbs. In the middle of all the weight loss I started dating my husband. We got married May 13, 2006. We got pregnant in July of 2006. LOL It was a shocker. I gained alot of weight with my pregnancy from just overeating. I ate anything and everything I wanted. I never cooked and mostly went to restaurants or fast food. Tyson was born March 20, 2007. I have actually gained since I had my son. I think I was 213 when I left the hospital. I graduated this May with my teaching certification in elementary and special education and I am currently taking classes for my masters in educational technology. I want to be a media specialist.
WELCOME! Glad to hear you are joining us!! I have to say that you are sooooo beautiful and I dunno where you weight is hiding but you cannot tell you weigh a pound over 150! Seriously! You wear it well girl! And your little boy is precious!
My current diet is low carb, low fat/calorie, high protein from my doctor. Along with medication, I have lost 26lbs since June. It works! I am slowly going to be able to introduce some healthy carbs back in my life in a few weeks. It was very hard at first but I kept telling myself I would give it two weeks and "I can do anything for two weeks" and that seemed to get me through the hardest part. Now, I really don't miss the carbs like I did before.
You've done this before...you can do it again! Congrats on your degree! I am a special ed teacher! Welcome to education!! The good and the bad! HA!
