Should we call CRO about a price difference for our upcoming reservations?

For fun I decided to look up my families reservations for the Contemporary and Polynesian and I saw some thing that did not seem right. It had all the days we are to stay at both Resorts and for the Contemporary the rate they showed per night was different then what our confirmation says. I should also mention that it says a different rate for the Polynesian, then what our confirmation says. For both reservations there is difference of $25.00 more per night that is listed on the Walt Disney World website. Finally we were never e-mailed or mailed new confirmations with the new prices, so I am wondering is this a mistake by WDW?

How many adults are staying in your room? $25 sounds like a charge for an additional adult.

Right. What tone.def is saying is, the additional $25 per night is for the additional adult (you) each night.

Then how come when we made our reservations the CRO Cast Member did not tell us the price that is currently on the WDW website, would be the cost per night for the rooms? I am not sure when they added that to our reservations, because every other time I checked them online it did not have the price increase per night. CRO knew there would be 3 adults in the room and in the past we were never charged $25.00 more then what our confirmation said the price is per night. We were charged per night what we were quoted over the phone when making the reservations. So that is why were going to call them because I have a feeling this is a mistake.

We are still going to call them because it still seems like a mistake, since this has never happened before with any of our reservations. We were charged per night what we were quoted over the phone when making the reservations. They never said about an extra charge for adults in the room.

I'm sorry to tell you... this isn't a new policy...

Good luck with your phone call!

If it's not a new policy then I am saying again for the 2nd time, how come we were never charged the extra $25.00 per night every other time we have stayed onsite? Every time we got our final bill the day we checked out, the price per night was what were told when making the reservation and they never added the $25.00 charge for adults.

Did you just turn 18 and are just now considered an adult? Could it be possible that your parents added you on the other times after you arrived? I know when our son and daughter turned 18(I think that is the change over age to adulthood at WDW), they started charging us the extra adult rate. Also, one year we had a friend to go with us and we waited until we got there to add her on and they didn't charge us. I don't know about your situation but we have always been charged the extra adult charge except for the time we added them on after we got there. Do you have a copy of the reservation for before they added on the $25. I'm like someone else said, Good luck but I really don't think you will get anywhere with CRO.

Maybe a silly question - but did you just turn 18? Are you a new adult? Did your parents always make the reservation in the past and claim you as 17?

Actually I turned 18 in 2003 and now I am 22. Ever since then we have told WDW my correct age and were never charged the extra $25.00 per night.

Are you being charged $25 more per night than what your confirmation says, or are you being charged $25 more per night that the Disney reservation website is currently quoting you?

If you are being charged $25 more per night than the price on your confirmation, aside from not knowing how that is possible until/unless you check in to the resort in August, that implies a problem and should be addressed with CRO.

If, on the other hand, you are being charged $25 more per night in the online quote than the rate on your confirmation, are you telling the website you have three adults?

As for why a Cast Member did or did not tell a Guest something, we can't say. That would have to be addressed with the CM.

There are a couple of reasons I can think of that might explain why you were or were not told about a standard practice. Possibilities: The rate quoted and paid in the past already included the third adult charge; the third adult was not identified as such for several years after attaining the cutoff age; prior to the upcoming trips, the party was subject to a bit of Pixie Dust in not being charged for the third adult, however, all the PD is used up.

That is the problem we are having. The confirmations we got e-mailed and mailed to our house by WDW say different rates then what it says on their website when I look at our reservations online. When I subtracted the cost per night on the website to what is on our confirmations that we got months ago, it came out to $25.00 more per night on each reservation.

Going back to what I said before when the CRO Cast Member said who is in your party, my Dad himself, my mom and I and this was after saying I was over 18. So they never charged us $25.00 extra for having a 3rd adult, we were told the exact rate per night which was listed on the disneyworld.*** rates for the 2007 Value seasons.

Even if that was a mistake which I don't think it is, shouldn't it have been corrected by the Cast Members at the Contemporary when we checked-in? They saw I was over 18 and never said we need to charge you $25.00 extra.

I think you just got lucky in previous stays. Once we stayed 3 adults at CBR and were NOT charged for the extra adult and even got a free roll-a way, weren't charged for that either. Was supposed to be 15.00 extra a night for each.

When we stayed 3 adults in a room at WL, we were charged the extra 25.00 a night for the third adult.

Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don;t.

I still don't see how could have been lucky on all those trips since I turned 18, without being charged the extra $25.00 per night. You would think that it would be noticed by someone after 4 1/2 years later? Still we feel we should be paying the rate per night that is on our confirmations, because we are not trying to lie about my age and etc. We told them what is was when making them for this August at the Contemporary and for December at the Polynesian and we were never told of any extra charges because of it.

Dude - they just made a mistake when they made the original reservation - now they corrected it - it is what it is.............

If you are correct then we will accept WDW's decision, however until we call CRO I still think they are wrong.

Assuming they made no mistakes shouldn't they have at least e-mailed us new confirmations? What if I did not look online to see our reservations? We would have assumed the rates did not change and who knows what would have happened if they told us a different price when we checked-in. We wouldn't get angry or fight with them, but if you were in my shoes and found out this when you arrived wouldn't you be a bit upset?

The reason why we would have not checked to see the reservation online is because we had our confirmations e-mailed and mailed directly to us. So why would we need to see them online again?

That is a standard policy - as everyone else has been stating - it's been in effect since at least 1998 when my mother had to pay for me as an extra adult in a room.

Disney, as you know, isn't to keen on keeping ages up to date which may be why you haven't been charged before. Just this year they updated my son to age 6, he was listed as 2.

Now since this seems like a major issue with you, call CRO, they will tell you and get it over with. You have taken more effort posting about it than actually doing something about it, if you feel they are so in the wrong.

But again, as everyone else has stated, the charge is $25 for each additional adult over 2 in the room.

That's because we have not called CRO yet to find out about this. I appreciate everyone who was replied to this thread, so until we actually call we will not know 100% what the reason is. It's not that I doubt what you all are saying, I just want to get the answer right from WDW which you would to if this was something new that you never knew about.

The only thought I can add here.. is the confirmation is the document I would go by -- NOT the online 'look at your reservation' thingy..

That's buggy as crap. If your confirmation has a rate quoted... and they haven't sent you a new confirmation.. I think you have every reason in the world to be charged the rate on the initial confirmation.

The other note to think about is they are getting the website ready for the new rate structure and I bet it's going to be very buggy for the next little while.. so to confirm ANYTHING ... I'd call CRO.

WDW and WWW just don't ever seem to get along.. :)

Summary: To answer the question in the title of the thread --> YES! :)
