I have been trying to get CRT breakfast or lunch for my April trip and have been unsuccessful :headache: . I can get either of the two for a different day, but I really need the day I keep calling for. I have 1900 Park Fare scheduled for dinner on the day I would like CRT. Should I just settle for 1900? I am getting tired of calling to see if there is a cancelation. It is just going to be me and my mom. She has never been inside the castle, so I thought she might like that experience. What do you think?

PS: I don't like the dinner menu at CRT that is why I would like breakfast or lunch.

I never did breakfast there. We have done dinner and really enjoyed it. We had plenty of time with all the characters. I thought the food was good. The dinners rolls were really good. They were a little sweet. I would do this again, but DS8 wants nothing to do with princesses and DS2&1/2 LOVES MIckey-so we have to do Chef Mickey's.

we like 1900, even had a birthday party there! The food is pretty good for a buffet and man we seem to never get rid of the mice....character interaction is great!

1900 PK Fare has a few Pooh characters, Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland & the Mad Hatter at breakfast. Their breakfast is very good here.

I'm so disappointed how much "they" have turned CRT's into one of the biggest rip-offs in WDW. I've taken my dd here several times of the past few years when they had the "old" pricing which I thought was a lot then! The food is nothing to write home about either. For the prices they are charging now, they should be including lobster tail with breakfast OR you should have your own princess at the table eating with you the entire meal instead of the 15-60 seconds they spend (especially with a party of 2). I think whatever mastermind thought of this new "deal" should be a shamed of themselves!! They should have the photos as an extra purchase like they do with CM's and O'Hana's.

If you are looking for a character meal for breakfast I also recommend Cape May Cafe. The food is good and the character interaction is fun (Minnie, Goofy, Chip and/or Dale). O'Hana's is ok, more fun for the kids, but includes, Mickey, Pluto I think, Lilo & Stitch and of course Chef Mickeys which has all the classic Disney characters. It's ok but worth going if you haven't gone. CP in the MK is a great place to go as well. We LOVE lunch here. The food is excellent. Pooh and friends are here.

The castle is kinda neat but you're really not missing much. You can probably save enough $$ to pay for another meal if you go elsewhere.

`1900 Park Fare does have a great Buffet, because its at the Grand Floridian you can special order for $14 (I think that's right) the fabulous chocolate slippers - the character interaction is more relaxed, calm... at CRT its a frenetic pace, and with all the changes I'm glad we did it once, but I just dont see us doing it again, the value and the interaction isnt worth it - the view, the castle, well... maybe.. pixiedust:

Keep calling, if you dont get the cancellation, call when you get there from your resort phone... but if you dont get it, make sure you tell your mom what a "rip off" its become... how much they charge, and how the lines have grown to sit for a pic with Cinderella, then to go upstairs... (you get my drift right??? :) )

1900 Park fare is a great buffet food is excelent and character interaction is wonderful, you must try the strawberry soup it is soo good. i would keep 1900 park and keep trying the CRT, but i would have to agree that it is out of control with the prices. I went the last trip for the first time because I had never gone, before the price increase. We did dinner and it was no characters Cindarella did make an appearance in lobby. food was okay desserts were fab. the inside was not quie what I expected but was still nice and now I can say i have eaten in the castle. Have you tried to get another meals time or are you pretty set on the time you are trying to get. We had to take a 930pm res. but it was great finished off the night wonderfully.

I think that if you want to go for the castle for the atmosphere and to make your mom happy, then only you can really decided whether $39.99 per person is really worth it. If so, then I would continue to try to make the reservation. It can't hurt, although I know its a pain to keep calling.

I know what it means to try to make mom happy on a trip. I have done that too. I took my mom for lunch in the castle (pre changes) and she was in heaven. I also took her on the carriage ride at Port Orleans. And to the Afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian These are all experiences she will never forget and I continue to hear her talking about these to her friends.

Based on the way the phrased the title, I don't think you will be happy at 1900 Park Fare. The whole time you will be thinking you were "settling". Although, if you can't get ADRs at CRT, you need to really try to enjoy 1900 Park Fare. It is a really good choice too!!

I don't think you will be settling..1900 PF is a good character meal. Enjoy!

We have had breakfast at the Castle a few years ago and enjoyed it very much. I know there are some changes that many do not like.

I on the other hand love 1900 Park Fare for breakfast and dinner. Of all the Character meals it's the one I continue to return to. I have never been disappointed in the meal or the service.

My vote would always be 1900 Park Fare over all the other Character meals.

I don't think that 1900 will be second best, it has a good buffet and good character interaction, for dinner it is a very good choice.

If yu want CRT I would carry on trying, but if you are fed up, leave it for a bit, and then try again, knowing that you still have a good plan.

Thanks for your help! The price of CRT doesn't phase me at all. I had a reservation for breakfast but canceled because I am taking my mom on the Keys to the Kingdom tour. To me the Castle is magical. I should have asked if 1900 has the same type of feeling to it. I am going to keep trying, but I think we will be happy at 1900 too. It might be nice to escape from the park for a while too. :)
