I still keep thinking I want to stay at AKL or Poly but there are no discounts for my week October 14th. Of course I cant change my dates because I already have my flights booked. I have reservations at CBR and I think we will like it but I just like the extra restaurant choices at AKL and Poly. I have already stayed at the Poly and we really liked it, the transportation is such a plus, love the pool, the beach, the fireworks, Ohana, and the tropical atmosphere. It is just sooo expensive. I have never stayed at AKL and really think it would be cool with the animals, the pool, and the restaurants.
What should I do shell out the extra or stick with CBR ? I know it is not a good idea to want to stay deluxe paying rack rates :(
If we stayed at AKL it will cost around 500.00 more and Poly would be around 1000.00 more :crazy2:

No I don't think you should book it.

I book with a AAA discount & if that wasn't available I'd cringe at paying rack rates (although the AAA discount isn't anything great but it's something).

Stay where you are & save your money for next time when there is a discount available.

If money is tight, I definately would NOT change from a moderate to a deluxe just because of the restaurants. It's always possible to go to other resorts for dinner. That's what we're doing.

Have you thought about renting points to stay at AKL? If free dining was not offered during our time frame, we would have rented points because I cannot justify paying rack rates.

Keep the ressie for now and if a GP discount comes out, change your current ressie to AKL. This is the only deluxe hotel that gets discounts most often because of it's location on property. However we feel it's THE best resort for us because of its theme. We stay there every trip, even if we need to do a split stay as we did when we opened AoA in May. The resort is featured on most of their commercials and advertisements for a reason....it's so unique. Where else in the U.S. can you wake up and have a view like this.

I think I will keep what we have for now and keep hoping for a discount. I sure would like to stay at the Poly again though. I was totally spoiled staying there.

Do not want to stay here just for the restaurants but the atmosphere, the pools and theme.

I'd never pay rack rates for a deluxe. I'd stay put, and watch for discounts for your dates.

I would change your resort, stayed at CBR, i would like a change. AKL seems like a cool place to stay for an extra 500 bucks. almost forgot, you will not be able to get reservations for Ohana's in Oct. Completely booked. i've been trying for two weeks.

good Luck

We stayed at the BC last year with no discount, no free dining. Will never do it again without a discount. Not worth it and I still can't believe what we paid. It rained so we only used the pool twice and other than that we weren't in the room much. Loved the location but not worth the rack rate.
