Short Notice Trip Next Week---Too Late to Make Good Reservations

What places on my list would you make a priority? The Wave looks good and has greaet reviews. My only concern is it is hardly ever full.

I would think it is the truth about Disney restaurants - the most popular ones are not necessarily the ones that have the best food. Nor do I understand why a restaurant is automatically not a "decent" place to eat because it is not one of the ultrapopular ones that books up at 180 days - some of that popularity is due to hype. WDW has more than 75 different table service restaurants and I've eaten at most of them. The Wave would be higher on my list than either 'Ohana or Le Cellier. Try the ones people aren't fighting each other to get in, you might like them.

I totally agree with this. One of our favorite places for dinner is Boatwrights and I have very rarely seen it even mentioned on here. We make sure we eat there each trip and never have a problem getting an ADR. Sometimes the places you don't hear much about are the best kept secrets :)

A lot of people must be canceling their ADRs. The castle dinner came open but my wife and I don't have kids. Still waiting to see if we can land Ohana.

I would suggest, if you can, check the ADR mobile site while in the parks. It's a really fast and super easy way to check last minute reservations.

A few weeks ago we were on a short notice trip and had made no reservations. We were in a gift shop in Adventureland and my wife asked where are we going for lunch, Cosmic Rays or Pecos Bill (which are both really good). Anywhoo...I checked the mobile ADR site, around 11:30a on my iphone and looked for "Lunch, Magic Kingdom" it came back with most of the table restaurants in MK having space available and a Crystal Palace reservation for 2pm. We haven't been able to get in there for a while so we jumped at that and had a great time. Tigger was in rare form that day!

If you have an iphone or any phone that can get internet you can log onto the mobile version of the ADR website.

Make this a bookmark if you do:

I hope this helps!

will definitely be checking this one out!!

So far we have the following booked:

Ohana (Breakfast)
Cape May Café (Breakfast)
Kouzzina (Breakfast)
Mama Melrose’s (Lunch)
Yak & Yeti (Lunck)
Captains Grill (Dinner)
Coral Reef (Lunch and Dinner)
Kona Café (Dinner/May try to walk into Ohana first)
The Crystal Palace (3:40 pm)
The Wave (Lunch and Dinner)
Yachtsman Steakhouse (Dinner)
Cape May Café (Dinner)

We may try the new Italian and Mexican place as a walk in. I know we won’t use all of our reservations and I’m sure other people will do the same. We will make the best of it and enjoy whatever we can get at this point. I’m sure the food is palatable and fit for human consumption wherever we go .

I had lunch at the Wave and it was one of the best meals I have had at WDW. Don't let the fact that there is always openings deter you from trying it! I wouldn't consider The Wave or Yachtsman Steakhouse to be B-list restaurants - both were excellent!

Of your list above, I would say The Wave, Cape May Cafe buffet and Kona Cafe would be my priorities. I also enjoy Ohana breakfast, Ohana dinner and the Yachtsman Steakhouse. I have not eaten at Kouzzina's Crystal Palace or Captain's Grill, so I can't comment on those. I don't like Le Cellier so that wouldn't even be on my list.

You have a great list of reservations! I doubt you will be able to get a walk-up to Ohana at dinner though ... the last couple of times I was there, they were always turning walk-ups away and even those with ADRs were waiting an hour or so. However, Kona Cafe is so good, I would prefer it over Ohana.

Ohana is good, but not the best on property. And Le Cellier in my opinion wasnt very good. It was edible, but i was very disapointed in my meal. I was so looking fwd to it after reading tons of reviews from people who said they would tear off their right arm for a piece of their steak. I sat through out the meal thinking "what on earth!?". Lol.

You have a great list of reservations. Have a wonderful time!

We just returned and everyhing was fantastic. WDW delivered the goods and we had a great stay at The Beach Club. All of the places we ate at were great and we really loved Ohana. We were able to eat there for breakfast and dinner (with the help of WDW HQ staff). WDW is very organized and the dining plan worked out well.
