Hi,
Well we are off in less than 7 weeks:goodvibes and DD's have decided they want some Doc Martens!!:confused3
My question to all my dis-shopaholic sisters (and brothers;)) is:-
will they get them cheaper in Florida?
To be honest I can't ever remember seeing them; but then again, I wasn't looking!!

My first reaction is, "you'll have to go back to 1998 to find some Doc Martens. :rotfl:

Are they still around?

On a more serious note, I don't recall seeing any on our day at the outlets.

Oh yes, they are still around, but not as you remember them. I had my heart set on a formal pair of high heeled mary janes from Totallyshoes.co.uk and when I went back to my wishlist my size was gone! :sad1:

What you might want to do is make sure your browser is set for all site, not just UK ones and do a search and then compare. Why don't you post on the main boards where those in the US will be happy to help you out with a spot of shopping?

Hi Tigs (hope you don't mind the nickname :goodvibes)

I knew I could rely on you to come up with an answer:)
Thanks, but I've only ever been on here, I don't venture any further:laughing:
Where do I go?!

Firstly I don't mind the nickname. It is both mine and my DDs nickname anyhow :rotfl: (short for Tiggi, go figure!)

I was referring to your google search or whatever search engine you use and just type in Dr. Maartens and see what comes up. Sometimes if you look at the top of the page before you hit the search button there is an option to search only UK sites or the whole internet. It often defaults to the UK only which means you won't get to see the US ones.

If you meant about the main boards, let me have a browse and see which is the most appropriate one and I will post you a link for you to post your Q. I'll go do that now. Back in a few minutes. :)

I would either put it on here: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2 or else on the Family one: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=23

Your question won't really be out of place on either of them as generally this is where the shoe queries pop up. If your DDs are looking for something a bit more trendy than walking shoes, it doesn't matter. Just ask generally about the Docs and ask if anyone will post links for you and you can search the ranges once you get all the good sites.

Will let you know how I get on! x

DD got a pair of DM shoes and calf length embroidered boots from a shop at Premium Outlets. This was in Dec. so pretty recent. If my memory serves me right it was around $250 - $300 for both pairs.

We had a look for DD when we were there last year but didn't find any bargains. We eventually bought cheaper here - Both my DDs buy online from www.cloggs.co.uk :)

Hi, thanks, but at that price they are probably better off buying here :)

Thanks!
There seems to be some good buys on there (to my in-experienced eye, anyway!!) I have left them to have a browse, but I think they are probably better off buying here....)

That will be great. Maybe you can even let me know where you posted - I might find the ones that slipped away from me! ;)

Hi Tigs,:goodvibes
Have posted on the family forum, and asked for links so will have to wait for response...
Also had a bit of a brainwave:idea:and asked DS to post on teenboards! So far someone has come back with Journeys at the Florida Mall. Of course he didn't ask the price:rolleyes:, but hey it will give them somewhere to look!! I don't think they're planning to wear them out there...... I hope not!!!:scared1:

Oh that was a great idea. No, teens don't think of the price until the start working to fund their own purchases. I think when I was a teen, the only time I was aware of the price was when my father would say, "Do you think I'm going to pay $xxx for a pair of shoes?!?!" :rotfl:

Lol! I didn't even get that! I just got... the look.....!!!

:rotfl::rotfl: I wear them, I have a black pair and a bright blue pair (much to my daughters embrassment). I used to wear them in 1997 too.:rotfl:
