Hello,

I am a new DVCer, and I am planning my first vacation to stay at a 2BR villa, but I did not know what should I take with me. I would like to know what items people must bring to a villa, specially talking about the kitchen. Does a kitchen have all the necessary to cook and eat? Thanks

I guess that two things will make a difference. Are you planning on cooking, and are you driving. These two things will determine how much you need/bring.
We drive, only eat breakfast in the villa. We like to bring cereal, our own coffee, splenda, microwave popcorn, water..for taking to the park, a couple of pump antibacterial soaps for the bathrooms, laundry detergent.
We buy milk, 1/2 and 1/2 and some ice cream from the mercantile wherever we stay.
The last few trips I have taken insulated disposable coffee cups with lids. I find them in my grocery..they look a lot like a Starbucks cup. That way I can have one more cup of coffee as we are leaving for the parks and then toss the cup.:)
The kitchen has a serving for 8 (2 bdrm) and a coffee maker, toaster, frig and a variety of pots and pans. I know some people bring a crock pot and have dinner cooking all day, but I would rather eat out.
Hope this helps!

Are you talking about food items or cooking/serving items?

Here are some of the things we have in our owner's locker:

salt
pepper
coffee grinder
coffee scoop
coffee filters
aluminum foil
cling wrap
cooking spray
ziploc bags
a small cutting board (one is provided but I like having an extra)
a good quality all-purpose kitchen knife
Mickey-handle pancake turner
whisk
rubber spatulas
chip clips
Mickey-handle pizza cutter
Mickey-handle ice cream scoop
Mickey dish towels (towels are provided but I wanted some cute ones - picked colors that would coordinate with the BLT decor ;))
Brita pitcher
square melamine plates (for studio stays - only paper plates provided in studios)
mini condiment jars (jams, mustard, etc)
Crystal Light lemonade packs (the kind you add to a bottle of water)

I'm considering adding a cast-iron skillet and a muffin pan but my locker is full already so I either have to make space or get another locker! :rotfl:

Man! I want to go when you are going! I take the coffee supplies too, for my DH, but for me I take my french press. I'm a coffee snob:rotfl:

The coffee stuff is all for DH...I don't touch the stuff. ;) But it's good for me he isn't a coffee snob..a French press would take up valuable room in my OL. :lmao:

The kitchen stuff will definitely serve us well over the years, but some of my favorite/most used stashed items are:

scissors (OMG, we use these so much!)
travel-size Disney Scene It game
playing cards
inflatable bath pillow
mini screwdriver (for opening battery compartments on those "necessary" toy purchases)
Apple Airport Express for wireless internet

Needless to say, I'm a confirmed OL junkie already.

You guys are so organized!!!

For our studio trip, I plan on using GardenGrocer and ordering things so I don't have to carry them.
