Shooting at Va Tech

I don't know why but I can't stop crying over this. Maybe it's because I graduated a year ago and can feel the unease, worry, shock, and grief those students and families are feeling.

My thoughts and prayers are with them.

Here I am *****ing about my job and how a relocation to DC I wanted is not going to happen while there are families mourning the loss of a child. It puts so many things into perspective.

I hear you. I graduated from Undergrad 15 years ago, and still feel the shock and worry.

And I was complaining about a tree limb squashing our swingset this morning....

No, the shooter is dead. They aren't sure if he killed himself or if he was killed by the police.

That was a video a student had taken earlier! The sounds of the guns are horrifying!

This is just something I can't wrap my mind around.

They are now saying it was a 3 hour window between the shootings and all the way across campus from each other. One student is quoted as saying they were under lock down for a bit and then it was lifted, but the shooter hit again. Why was the lockdown lifted if they didn't have the shooter in custody?

Someone is going to have A LOT of explaining to do.

Makes you wonder if there are/were 2 shooters? Maybe they thought they had the shooter in custody. Then I also wonder if the first shooting was unrelated to the second set? What if that is just a coincidence? I guess I just trying to wrap my head around the big time difference between the two.

I a listening on my Sirius and heard that clip and literally broke down in tears.

There are people in critical condition are area hospitals and I have heard from friends that it may go over 30 dead.

Also hate to post rumors but heard it was over a girlfriend cheating - again just rumor.

My DN is a junior at Kent State, which has it's own history. I can't imagine what condition I'd be in if this had happened at her school. All I can do is sit here and pray for the families.

I'm with you Tim. I had to turn CNN off because I couldn't listen anymore and stay even halfway focused on work.

Just received an IM from a friend that attends VT... was sitting here with my cell phone and checking my email every few seconds. He's an Engineering student but luckily didn't have class at that time.

He's okay, but he's still waiting for a few of his friends to get in contact and said he'd keep me updated.

I'm in shock still... supposed to be writing a paper and just can't do it. Too worried and upset.

My thoughts and wishes are with those at VT and who have been impacted by this.
