How horrific. Tragic. My heart breaks for everyone there (victims and survivors) and their families back at home.

What a tragedy! As a Mom who had three children who dormed away at college, I can't imagine the pain these families and students are going through.

Terrible tragedy. I don't understand how someone could do something like that. I can't wrap my brain around it. They are saying the 21 fatalities is just a ballpark figure. I hope it doesn't rise. Prayers for those poor families who lost a child.

It is really sad. I wish someone was able to stop it, the amount reported went from 1 dead to 22 (including shooter) while I was out at the store.

They are using 2 of Roanoke's hospitals now. One of the hospitals here has a very large tramma unit. They have a wonderful helicopter unit, but I don't know that they could use that today w/ the wind.

Blacksburg is such a nice town. If we ever had to move anywhere, that would be our 1st choice.

I read on one site that they couldn't use the helicopters because of the wind, too.

Blacksburg is idyllic and even the thought of this happening is just so unbelievable!

I am watching this unfold and can not grasp how when the first shooting took place just after 7 this morning, the campus continued to operate normally with the student's going to classes until the shooter resurfaced in an academic building 2 hours later. One was killed in the dorm, aparantly. The others were all in the second attack that many hours later. I am just sick. Prayers to these families.

Now they're saying 25 dead and the number is expected to rise.

Oklahoma City April 19, Columbine April 19, now Va Tech April 16. What is it about the 3rd week of April?

I'm at work and can't concentrate. All I think about is this tragedy.
