There are people in critical condition are area hospitals and I have heard from friends that it may go over 30 dead.

Also hate to post rumors but heard it was over a girlfriend cheating - again just rumor.

A co-worker heard the same thing about the girlfriend. I have heard from a much better source about the # of deaths being over 30.

I spent 4 years of my life there and I just can't imagine it happening. I am thinking of the areas where the shootings occur and just walking around the campus in my mind. I just can't imagine what those people went through there in the two buildings.

My DN is okay. Got an email saying their cell phones were not working.

I'm so glad you have heard from her and she is okay.

Apparently they are still not saying whether the two incidents are related or not. They arrested one person after the shootings at the dorm. The gunman at Norris Hall was killed but it's unclear if it was suicide or he was shot down by police.

I go from one news website to another and each time I look the death toll is higher. Last one I checked it was at 32.

unfortunately that isn't petty to adults let alone kids. VT is saying 22 including students. 2 students and they are having a covation tomorrow and couceling in the bowman room. all faculty and staff have been released and classes are cancelled tomorrow.

The person who got arrested was not the shooter. It appears to be someone out on campus when they were supposed to be on lock down. Stupid person!

I know! I took many classes in Norris Hall...and I keep picturing those classrooms and the hallways

I think there may not be definite numbers as the number in critical condition could not make it.

I can't concentrate at work...this is awful. Just awful.

At least a half dozen of my grad school classmates were VIT graduates - just thinking of how they must feel at the moment is making my heart break.
