Hope you feel better very soon pas!
I am better!

Jeanette I am glad you are home, but sorry you feel so yucky Don't worry about work tomorrow, I know getting an attitude sucks, but you need to take care of you first and foremost!!! Feel better soon!
Two more nurses called out after me so I didn't feel AS bad....they are jerks...

I hope all is well at your house Melissa...worried about you & your family!

Jeanette Glad to read you are home and headed to bed. Don't worry about missing work you need to get well!!!
I needed the rest...must have slept 20 hours at least...fever is gone, I am coughing, but I am fine
You need rest....I hope it passes quickly
It amazes me that nurses can't call out sick...makes NO sense :sad2:

Just popping in to say I am headed off to find some things to make my MNSSHP costume...I am going to be BOO!! From Monsters Incs.!!

Pretty basic...but I can for sure pull it off!! Besides time is ticking!!

I LOVE BOO!!!!!!!!!!

Boo is one of my all time favorite Disney characters!
Mine too!!!

Jeanette, I'm so sorry you sick.

All of our friends traveling or who live in Florida: you all are in our thoughts and prayer. Please be safe!
Thanks Christine

And include me in with our friends' prayers :grouphug: I'm praying our Gulf coast RCers stay safe

Jeanette- hope you are feeling better today
Thanks!!!!! I am 85% better!!!!

sheilaI was sleeping!!!! All good!!!!! And don't worry, crowds will be fine!!!

Good morning!

Jeanette, take care of yourself and fee better. Forget about work, it's their problem. Too bad you didn't take a page from Dani's book and cough all over the idoits or did you?!!! Your health means more than a night or two of work, geeze, what's wrong with people? In the meantime, as our Minnie & Nana lovingly says "gentle hugs"
Oh I coughed on phones....the charge nurse computer & mouse....trust me....I did wear a mask around the pts nthough...they shouldn't suffer....
and Jeanette hope you are feeling better!

Oh I forgot, my Big girl (DD8) just had her ears pierced this morning! It was part of her b-day gift from June, but we had to wait until soccer was over. She looks so grown up....tear!
princess: Nice!!!! HRH was lying in bed with me yesterday...can't believe how big she got!!!! She'll be 8 on Sep. 28 :guilty:
DH just found out that he is going to an IT conference at YC. The kiddos and I of course want to tag along.
:dance3:

Just wanted to say that it has been 9 days since my last change!!!!
And I have no changes on the horizon....I am perfectly settled!!!:goodvibes
Jinx.......

Luckily this isn't a horrible storm nor a direct hit. I have been here though a few Cat 3's are THOSE are scary!
Thank goodness Melissa..I've been worried!!!!

We are actually sitting here running numbers, and considering adding 2 nights to our stay, making it another 10 nighter!!!
2 at AoA - LM room
8 at Poly CL

We have to wait until tomorrow to make a decision, because DH has to make sure he can get the extra days off.
It sounds fabulous....I hope he can get the extra days!!!!

It's done, changed Jan to Dec. Made the crazy decision to go the first weekend of Dec. It is parade taping weekend, but we will work around it. I TRIED and BEGGED to stay at WL, but DS wont have it, he wants CR!!!! He is in love the way the rooms look and the whole idea of the monorail through the resort. DH said just keep the CR and we will just tour the other resorts for decorations. I think having such easy access to MK that weekend will be key too. And the CM I spoke to asked if I was a passholder, when I said I was, she said you know to keep watching the rates, everyday, especially early next week  That is the second time I have had a CM ask me if I am a passholder when making or changing resies, so I am guessing they know that is going to be the first round of discounts for the fall.

Melissa
Sounds great Melissa....CR has the WL boat....easy peasy :yay:

So...getting so close now, DH has made 3 of our 5 t-shirts, and has 2 more to make. I will post pic of them when he is done. They are basic but they are our first ever homemade Disney T's!! :goodvibes
:cheer2:

Last week I changed from CSR to POR. We have stayed at POR before and love it. Previously my DH has said no to deluxe because he doesn't see spending that kind of money on a room, but yesterday I was telling my sister that he had so no and he walked up and said he did not. He heard me telling her that it was my dream to stay at Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge, so now he's thinking about it. My question is... Is there a limit as to how many times I can change resorts within a certain amount of time? I'm really hoping he'll say yes but it will surprise me if he does, I'm surprised he's even considering it after saying no before.
Definitely NO limit!!!!:rotfl:

:woohoo: Here is hoping for a great deal you cant pass up! I will be at WL Feb 2-6, just sayin' :rolleyes1

No, there is definitely no limit! They CM's are super nice and always willing to help! Definitely price out WL and AKL, they are more reasonable that most of the other deluxes. Just figure out which resort you think he will like more, find all the benefits to it, and SELL SELL SELL him on it :lmao:

Well I have already been on the phone with WDW after seeing the GP discount released for the fall this morning. So I was able to save a little on my Dec stay, not as good as I am hoping for but she said hopefully the AP discount that should be coming next week will be better. I didn't even bother to have the GP discount applied to my Oct trip, because at 1AM this morning the county did in fact decide to cancel school today. Isaac was not nice to us last night :sad2: But what this means is that my kids will not have off Oct 19 like we originally thought, which was not a great day for dh to take off, but was going to make it work. Now I can look at the calendar and pick a day that works better from him and just pull the kids out of school

Hope everyone else is dry on this Monday morning! :goodvibes

Melissa

GP discount....I'll be back.....

Jeanette So happy you are feeling better.

On the edge here I called and saved an additional $279.68 over FD :cool1: but I checked and can stay at GF for only $56 more total  Bob said do what I want but...... Blah blah blah ( he really does not want to stay there) Not really sure I want to either because of the construction & closures but I do ya know :lmao: Ugh:headache:

Hi everyone. Sorry I've been absent. It was a super busy weekend. Friday we went food shopping because we hadn't gone since BEFORE Disney! :scared1: Saturday I worked and then had a party to go to, and yesterday was a christening for my friend's son. I'm exhausted!

Candace I say take the JB fare and add on 2 days!

Jeanette My job is the same way for calling out. God forbid you are sick. They don't pay you and they make a huge deal out of it.

Sheila I say go for the Grand!

Mornin' RC family!

Jeanette, so happy you are feeling better!!

Sheila, although I would be hesitant to stay at GF with the construction, for $56 more, I'd probably switch. Then I'd make sure to request a Lodge that is away from the construction...I know a fantastic room location in Boca Chica, away from construction...and you can see the lagoon, entrance to the MK, monorail gliding by in the distance...we loved it! We request Boca Chica, Narcoossee's end, 3rd floor. It is the end of the bldg so a bit longer walk, but the view is so worth it! The balcony actually looks out over the roof of Narcoossee's, but easy to look beyond and see the monorail, or to the right and see the MK entrance, train..we could hear the train whistle! We had a great view of Wishes too!

Keep us posted on what you decide!

Hope all our friends in Isaac's path stay safe. :grouphug:

Have a great week, my friends!:goodvibes

Hello to all! Happy (?) Monday. :goodvibes Missed you guys!

Pas: So glad you're feeling better.

Melissa: Hope the weather's being nicer for you today. :scared: No damage from the storm, I hope?

Jen: Yay for pierced ears. How does she like them so far? I'm going to wait to Miss M asks for them too. Sounds like a good idea. :thumbsup2 The Boo costume idea ROCKS! Got my fingers crossed you can work in a SWW trip... you'll have to give me the low-down on the crowds. My nerdy side really wants to check it out but my scared-of-huge-crowds side makes me

Candace: Did you book it yet?! popcorn::

Gwynne: I'm SO happy you've got BC now! :woohoo::woohoo:

Sheila: Nice savings! Hmmm... whatcha going to do? popcorn::

Marie: When are you going to take all of out on a test ride of your fancy new ride?! :thumbsup2

Christine: :goodvibes Hello!

-----------------------

Candace and I were on the same wavelength last night. Hubs and I looked at flights and discussed what we should do (miraculously enough) and we finally booked our return flight for our January trip. The prices kept inching up on SW -- I guess this means we've got to come back though. Booooo. :sad1:

Ginny YAY on BC!!!

Jeanette glad you are feeling better!

Shelia YAY on the savings! As for GF, I don’t know. It seem like there is a lot of closures, will there still be as many when you are traveling?

Dani sounds like a busy weekend, hope you can slow down and rest soon

Miss Nope, do damage here but when I was out yesterday morning there were trees down already and watching the news this morning there was extensive damage from tornadoes last night :sad2:

Seems like we are starting to finally dry out, I hope we continue to do so. So I got back on the phone with WDW and did have the discount applied to my existing Oct resie and also made an alternate one the weekend before which I think will be better for DH. I will keep both in place until I know from sure if the kids have to make up today. If we switchweekends, it is a true resort change, I couldn’t get YC on any of the other Oct dates I wanted, so had to settle for BC :lmao:

Melissa

My moment of insanity has passed. :) no Gaspirellas or pool those are sorta biggies, right? Then if the monorail should be down from what I understand the boats there are a no go for ECVs we be stuck unless we took a bus :confused3

Also I do like the Boardwalk looking out over Cresant Lake more than the beach at GF, not to mention I would have to do some ADR shifting which would not be easy.

Yep talked myself out of changeing :rotfl:

Melissa: Glad to hear there wasn't any damage to your property. Yikes about the trees... (We had a freaky 'micro-burst' storm rip down our street last year, it felled a bunch of 60+ foot adult ash trees in a straight line in seconds. Crazy stuff.)

Yep talked myself out of changeing :rotfl:

:rotfl2: I just did the same thing. I went on to price out the same trip but a couple weeks later. Nah, too much effort. :thumbsup2

-------------------------

I've entered the "Disney Room " and have started packing already. Am I strange? (Yes, this includes packing cubes. Will be whipping out the ziplocs too once I decide on the kiddo's and my outfits. :rolleyes1 )

Off to meet my metal tube here soon as I pop my 'happy pill'...

HI ALL! :yay: 31 days to go until I'm on my way to our first POLY CL stay! Woo HOO, we are very excited! But first we've got to get DH off too England with his mum/dad trip in only 12 days! When he comes home on Sept 22 then we will be in HIGH GEAR getting ready for our Sept 27 departure!! :cool1:
It's coming up fast!

Hello RCers!

Marie, Are you having fun driving your new vehicle? :drive:
:

HI Gwynne! :) yes, LOVING our new wheels! So glad I went with the Subaru over the Hyundai Santa Fe....it's so smooth, and I am looking forward to the safety in the winter! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE it :goodvibes

Hello to all! Happy (?) Monday. :goodvibes Missed you guys

Marie: When are you going to take all of out on a test ride of your fancy new ride?! :thumbsup2

I'd LOVE to take you all for a spin :) too bad I don't live in the USA :( I could get 4 friends in at once, so it would mean multiple trips, but hey.....we could work something out, where there's a will, there's a way! ;):rotfl2: EVEN BETTER! hopefully one day we can ALL meet up and let the monorail/ ME and Disney do the transporting :thumbsup2 :flower3:

:( :( BOOOOOO that always is THE WORST!!!!!

Well, everyone.....wishing you a fantastic Monday, I'm off to DS's school, he starts Grade 11 next week, and they have his schedule needing some changes! I don't like how he has all 3 core subjects first semester (math, English and science) when he's not the most focused student to begin with! Missing his 7 days for Disney might put him irrevocably behind.....but I don't know if There is a way to change it or not.....going to talk to the advisors today. Wish me luck! I hate talking to school admin!

If the monorail is down they run the bigger boats which can fit ECVs on them. We took one back when we did MK EMH one night.

Oh that is good to know for future reference, thanks for the info Dani
It is a pain getting old, so many things to take into consideration while taking the bus with the ECV is not too bad I think staying at an all bus resort would be a pain.

I am driving myself crazy checking resort availability and switching resorts for the 3rd time now in less than 2 weeks.

Back story:
DH decided we needed to go visit his family in Alabama the week after Thanksgiving which we have been putting off for over 2 years now. Me, being the nice, thoughtful, caring wife I am had a brilliant idea. Why don't we just drive to Alabama, spend one night then take your mom to Disney World for a week. You know, so they could spend some quality time together since they haven't seen each other in almost 3 years. DH jumped at that because a)he really doesn't want to spend a week in AL and b) he loves Disney as much as I do.

His mom has never really been on a true vacation and definitely never to WDW so this is probably her one and only trip. I really wanted her to feel like she was staying somewhere she would never get to normally and just wanted the trip overall to be really special.

DH & I are footing the bill so I decided on Coronado Springs bc of the tropical/Southwestern feel. Then I switched to POR bc we definitely need the 2 sinks and my favorite POFQ wasn't available. Deluxe was pretty much out bc are leaving in less than 3 weeks for a 9 day trip so we are trying to fit the Nov. trip in the budget.

Then yesterday I said, well AKL is only $1000 more than POR so I called and changed. Now today I am second guessing myself bc the $1000 would go a long way. On the other hand, for only $300 more than the AKL amount we could stay at Beach Club which is my dream, lol. Ahhhh I don't know what to do. Can anyone in this support group help me???

I'm a deluxe person so I'm going to say go deluxe if your budget allows it. Planning multiple trips is difficult. This is our second year with Ap's so I know. It tends to lead to mulitple changes and rebudgeting. The once a year trips were so much easier and less stressful.

If your going to spend the extra money on a Deluxe I think I would spend the 1300 for what you really want over spending a 1000 for what you don't really want. 300.00 is not that much extra to stay at your "Dream" resort.

I pulled the trigger and got the airfare on JetBlue out of Boston. So, the changes are as follows:

Our travel dates are now 4/18-4/28 (10 glorious nights again!!!!)
4/18-4/20 -- POR Royal Guest Room!! :yay: (AoA wasn't available with mil discount)
4/20-4/28 -- POLY CL - no changes here!

I am pretty excited about this as I got to do all of these changes for the price that I was expecting to pay just for airfare. :yay:

Sounds GREAT!!!! I wish those amazing military discounts where available for CDN military members! My DH served for 22 yrs in the CDN military. I'm happy he's retired and into his new career now, tours of DUTY where frequent and so much time spent in foreign countries!

I'm not seeing the fall discounts working for us.....we check in on Sept 28, discounts don't start until Sept 30. We got Free dining starting on Sept 28 back when it was offered to Canadians :)

I wonder if my BFF should have made our resort reservation? I'm wondering if she would have qualified for military discount because her DH is currently posted with the US army (as a Canadian) at a base in Lewisburg PA.....they've lived in PA for 18 mos now, and her DH is posted on an American base.
I never thought about that when I was pricing things.....her DH is staying home though and not coming with us, so I don't know if that would have affected eligibility or not.

I guess FD is looking like our discount this trip. Unless anyone else can think of some unturned rock :p

Hi everyone! Sounds like many of you booked some great deals with the room disc. I ran our numbers today and FD is definitely still cheaper for us! I am completely stressing about airfare because southwest just keeps getting more and more expensive. We could drive to Cincinnati and fly for cheaper but that adds a whole hassle. I can't decide what to do. I even looked into moving our trip to Dec 19-23 because airfare is the same price that week.

Exactly why I booked with Jet Blue today, even though I have to travel an hour to fly out of Boston, instead of flying SW out of our airport 10 minutes away...SW prices are crazy!!!!!

You will love JB unless they change flight times which they are fond of doing :rotfl2: Even so I won't fly unless I can pick my seats ahead of time.

We always have a drive of about an hour depending on what airport we fly out of , Hartford, jFK or west Chester and have always stayed at a hotel near the airport the night before with a stay park fly pkg so we just have to shuttle there in the am. If you have a early flight it is worth it plus your vacation starts a day early :rotfl:

We ONLY fly JB. Even if the fares are higher, I would rather pay the higher cost for the efficiency of the airline. If flying to Vegas or California, Virgin America is a contender. Those are the only 2 airlines we fly.
