She's Five at Riverside - A September 2014 Trip Report (Completed 2/27)

Your video is really cute. Allie looks like she is having the time of her life on this trip. :) I love all the dancing and the character interactions. You have so many wonderful memories here.

Did you book a bounce back for next year?

So I'm chiming in for the first time, but I've been reading along the whole time. We'll be at POR in about 38 days, and we've previously stayed there in the Mansion rooms, but we're trying AB rooms this time. Your rooms look great, I can't wait to stay in them.

I love Allie's face painting! Adorable:thumbsup2

The boat ride to DTD is one of my favorite things. We plan on doing WGP for lunch one of our days there.

How sweet that they bought the purse for you, and what a great pattern!

Looking forward to reading more:banana:

Wouldn't it be great going to work everyday like those CMs going to OMI?! I guess like anything, it becomes routine and it isn't like they're on vacation, but still is a fun way to get around.

Allie is one very patient face painting subject:artist:. The photo of Dad giving Melissa the D&B is so sweet - you guys capture all the moments, like the two girls in their Mickey Ears watching the GF performer - so cute.

We interrupt this regularly scheduled Trip Report to bring you: Our Trip Video!

This year we remembered to take more video clips, and Melissa put them together into a video summary of the trip.

I actually remembered to capture some video this year and I caught some pretty priceless moments.

We hope you all enjoy it and have a great Thanksgiving holiday!

You can check it out at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9D4nL7snCw
I loved this and one or two of my eyes might have gotten a bit moist. You both do such a great job of preserving your WDW memories:thumbsup2

And, a very happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Bummer about missing breakfast at WPE - but like you said, just another reason to go back. And lunch looks really good! I've heard really good things about the meatloaf sandwich

Love the picture of Allie in front of the face painting sign - such a big decision! Glad she was happy with her choice! And I can see a t-shirt that you design with your name on it, etc. being a great souvenir

Looks like a fun time at the Grand Floridian (though sorry that burger wasn't as good as you were hoping). Cool that timing worked out that you would all be getting to MK same time.

Oh, and great job with the video! Really captured the trip well. Love the part with Allie on the phone and it may have gotten a bit dusty in here when Mickey was singing Happy Birthday to her :goodvibes

Oh, and we have very similar taste in music - I actually just posted the video from our last trip today and it used On Top of the World in it as well - and last year's trip video used Best Day of My Life in it :thumbsup2

Her face painting came out super cute!
We thought so, and she just loved it. It was her first time, and wouldn't be the last of the trip.

Wonderful! Thank you for sharing!!
Thank you, it is our pleasure. We are so glad that you enjoy following along.

Catching up on your last couple of updates.

Typhoon lagoon sure looks like a fun day. I haven't been there since the late 90s when my brother worked there in the college program. It looks like the kids area at least is similar to blizzard beach. How do you all think it compares?

Poor Allie falling asleep for Akerhaus. At least she woke up to see Belle. And major score on the frozen necklace. I never saw that while we were there but wish we had. Glad she got some extra Halloween mileage out of it too.

I so need to follow your lead next trip and sleep late and enjoy time outside of the parks. Looks much more enjoyable than the mad scramble we are often on. Love Allies face paint. My daughter saw me looking at it and though she was sheriff callie ; ).

Keep the updates coming, can't wait for more.
Typhoon Lagoon's kids area is similar to BB but different in that it feels more spread out, and has more elevation change because it is kind of on the side of a "hill". It has a bigger variety of little things to do like small slides and water hoses to play with. It just doesn't feel as compact as the BB kids area, so you can't see its much of it from one spot. Overall we prefer TL, but for the kids area alone we probably prefer BB just slightly, but both are great.

The snowflake necklace was at some of the light up carts, and was really cool. The band is like fiber optic so it glows too.

We do enjoy our quiet time, especially after starting off busy in the parks. We figure all of our time at Disney is fun and special so we do whatever sounds like fun and avoid the urge to maximize park time, because the whole place is wonderful.

Subscribing!! I've got a lot of catching up to do!!
Great, we are glad to have you. We still have a lot of writing to do.

Isn't the Co-op store awesome?! I wanted everything!!

I wish I would've thought about getting married at Disney- like why didn't I?!! Lol

I love wandering around the GF. I'll never be able to afford to stay there- but I can visit :)
Yes, the CoOp store is fun, as if we needed another reason to go to DTD.

We wouldn't have gotten married at Disney if it weren't so close to home, but it was great to have them take care of everything and make sure it was Disney perfect.

We will probably never stay at the Gf either, but it sure is fun to settle into for a bit and act like we are staying there. We love making any Disney resort feel like home.

Your video is really cute. Allie looks like she is having the time of her life on this trip. :) I love all the dancing and the character interactions. You have so many wonderful memories here.

Did you book a bounce back for next year?
Thank you. We enjoy the video, but we are definitely biased since we were there. She did see a lot of characters this year, and some of the interactions were amazing, like when Mickey talked and sang to her.

Unfortunately we won't be back next year unless something changes. We didn't book the bounce back because we would hate to have cancelled it, and we just can't swing four years in a row. Initially the first trip was going to be our only one for a long time, then we booked the bounce back just in case and it started. We had three great trips and definitely will be back, but will probably take a couple years off.

So I'm chiming in for the first time, but I've been reading along the whole time. We'll be at POR in about 38 days, and we've previously stayed there in the Mansion rooms, but we're trying AB rooms this time. Your rooms look great, I can't wait to stay in them.

Welcome! We are glad to have you following along, and now commenting as well. Have an awesome trip to POR! We loved the AB rooms, especially with building 14 and getting a corner room, but any of them would be plenty big and nice inside. We did use a hanging organizer for some extra storage, and that worked out great and made up for the lack of a dresser.

Yes, it looked like a great way to start a work day. I kept thinking of Randy being excited to wear shorts to work. I do think my dream Disney job would be driving the boats, but I suppose even that would become routine.

Thank you for your kind words about our pictures. We just love capturing events, especially ones at Disney. You are quite observant and good at catching the detailed in them, sometimes ones that we had missed. ;)

I loved this and one or two of my eyes might have gotten a bit moist. You both do such a great job of preserving your WDW memories:thumbsup2

And, a very happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Aww, thanks. We sure get a little misty when watching it, and so did Grandma and Grandpa too.

Bummer about missing breakfast at WPE - but like you said, just another reason to go back. And lunch looks really good! I've heard really good things about the meatloaf sandwich

Great, we are glad you enjoyed the video. It was fun to put together now that we finally remembered to get good material for it. We couldn't believe it when Mickey sang to her. We were all giddy like little kids. We're glad you liked the songs too. Some took a little editing to make appropriate, but it all came together. :)

Loved the video! So fun seeing the talking Mickey interaction as well as the mirror/door at Enchanted Tales. Great job, really enjoyed it (and it was the perfect length for halftime of the Broncos game haha)

Took me a while but I made it!:cool1:

You have such a wonderful family! And how nice that you're close to Allie's grandparents and are able to have a WDW vacation with them!

All of your photos are really exceptional; you have a good eye and are good behind the lens! Those early morning shots around the resort are phenomenal, and the ones of Allie are so cute; something I'm sure she'll appreciate when shes older. :cutie:

I love the resort hopping! It's something I've always wanted to do, but my family likes to be in the parks from open to close. Maybe on our trip next year I can convince mom and sis to stop in a few, if only to refill our mugs (a game I thoroughly enjoy :thumbsup2).

I adore Allie's outfits too!! Way to go mom for being so creative and handy with a sewing machine!! I'm trying to get better with my own machine so that when DD is bigger I can make her sweet dresses like the ones you've made for Allie. :goodvibes

Can't wait to see what's next!:hyper:

Great, we're glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for checking it out and sharing. It wound up being longer than we thought it would, but we didn't get bored watching it so we were ok with it. Your plan of using it to fill halftime sounds like a good one. :thumbsup2

Cool, you're all ready for the next update. Now we just have to get time to write it... Once we get caught up at work from Thanksgiving we should be able to get the next chapter written sometime this week.

Thank you so much for taking the time to follow along and for your kind comments. We both enjoy photography and WDW just seems to be the perfect location for it. Resort hopping is just part of the fun for us, and we just consider it all part of the trip and the fun whether we are in a park or not. It's neat taht you want to sew for your DD as well. Check out our PTRs for some more info on the dresses. Melissa has found some patterns online that she enjoys. Finding Disney shirts on sale makes for some relatively inexpensive material.

We're glad you're here and we'll have more to post soon. :cool1:

We hopped on the monorail and made the quick trip from GF to MK. The lines to get into the park in the late afternoon were short, and we went right in and met up with Grandma and Grandpa in the Emporium.
We had time before our Fastpass+ to see Cinderella and Rapunzel, so we headed through Fantasyland. We stopped at the teacups which were almost a walk on.

We spun around and didn't get too dizzy

After the teacups we used our Fastpass+ to meet "the other princesses" which Allie enjoyed. Our time for the Frozen girls wasn't for a couple more days, so we avoided the standby wait for that one. Allie enjoyed talking to Cinderella about the mice that drew on her face, and then she showed Rapunzel that she had her charm on her new necklace.

It was a super cute interaction and Allie loved it. After we finished with the princesses we waited to see the Fairy Godmother.

This may have been my favorite interaction of the whole trip. She was so sweet With Allie and really took her time.

She was amazing. It just felt like she was in no hurry at all with the kids, and she wanted them to spend as long with her as they wanted. She did a great job, and we all loved it.
Then we headed to Enchanted Tales with Belle, where we had another Fastpass+. We had been looking forward to this one since last year, when it was Allie's favorite attraction of the trip. At lunch she had excitedly explained it to Melissa's Dad over the phone, which we recorded for the video.

Grandpa Jim was chosen for a part as a Knight, which he played well.

Allie was the doggy footstool which she enjoyed playing.

Afterward everybody got their pictures with Belle.

After Enchanted Tales we headed over to the Little Mermaid ride. We got a couple of pictures before we took a spin.

We have been on this ride so so so many times it was a nice chill moment for Paul and I. Allie rode with Grandma and Grandpa so it was almost like a date.

It was fun, and in a very familiar setting since the ride is just like ours in CA once you're inside. Then we headed over to Dumbo, where Allie was able to convince Mommy to ride, which is a bit of a feat because Melissa doesn't like the height of Dumbo.

After the ride we walked around the circus toy store, where Grandpa enjoyed watching them make cotton candy.

We noticed clouds starting to build but we didn't have any precipitation... yet... Eventually we made our way over to the super long line to check in for BOG.

They said they were running 20 minutes late when we checked in. While we waited Allie was fascinated by the conical water cup.

We were seated at 7:15, which wasn't too late. We got a nice quiet spot in the East dining room.

I originally thought I would order the strip steak or the Braised Pork but for some reason I settled on the shrimp and scallops. I'm so glad I did because it was DELICIOUS.

The scallops were cooked perfectly. The only thing I wish is that there were more of them but only because they tasted so good not because I was still hungry after finishing.

I had the strip steak with fries and enjoyed it as well. Just like last year we were impressed with the quality of the food here, and the price isn't terrible for if you're paying OOP. The dessert options were great, and we had some wonderful cupcakes.

Allie got the passion fruit puff pastry. It wasn't as good as I remember the chocolate one being from the year before but she still enjoyed it.

We did have to wait a long time for dessert, as our server was super busy. We were getting slightly concerned that we would miss the 9PM Wishes we had planned on catching, but after making a trip to the restroom we found that it was pouring outside and people were avoiding the rain in the lobby.

It was pouring buckets outside so we decided we could just take our time and hopefully the rain would let up some.

We enjoyed the rest of our meal and visited our host, The Beast. Allie was more scared of him this year, but we got a picture.

She was super scared which surprised me with how good she'd been with the other characters this trip. We eventually made our way outside where it was still raining so we put on our rain gear. They announced that Wishes had been postponed because of the rain.

While Grandma decided to head for the resort, Grandpa went with us to head for Pirates, which we hadn't ridden yet. On the way over we stopped for a potty break, and when we came out the delayed Wishes was just starting. We had a great view of it from Frontierland, which was a unique perspective.

We enjoyed watching the fireworks, and the light rain kept the crowds down. Then we continued to Pirates, which was just about a walk on.

The ride was uneventful until almost the end, when it stopped. We sat for a while with them making periodic announcements, and then they announced that they were shutting down the ride audio. This probably helps maintain sanity since we still had a while to wait. The guys in jail kept looking at us though, thinking maybe this was their chance to escape.

It was interesting to be stuck on the ride and I secretly hoped they would walk us off but it didn't take too long before they got it up and running again and we were able to get off.
The CMs at the ride exit apologized profusely for the wait but we really didn't mind at all.

We were only stopped about 10 minutes before the ride resumed (with audio) and we made it out.

The park was definitely closed by the time we exited so we just picked up the stroller and meandered our way out of the park which was fairly deserted because of the rain and it being closed.

Frontierland was totally empty, and we didn't meet up with any more people until we got to Main street. We made our way out of the park and got to the bus stop the same time as the bus, but the line was long enough that we wouldn't all fit, and the family ahead of us was the cutoff. We all didn't mind waiting for a less crowded bus, and while we waited we talked with the family who had three kids and were visiting from Illionis.

They were a really nice family and the kids were super sweet.

They gave Allie a small coloring book to play with, which was a really neat idea.

Allie was pretty shy and didn't want it at first but ended up being a huge hit. The next bus didn't take too long to get there and we were back at the resort before too long.

We pulled into the Resort at 11:30, and saw that the YeeHaw Bob show was still going on in the bar. We didn't stop to watch, but it sounded pretty lively. Then we went to our rooms and were in bed by midnight.

It was another crazy long day but we have a way of squeezing every ounce out of every day while at Disney.

Up next, we visit Hollywood Studios and then make our first visit to Food and Wine...

It's so nice that the characters weren't rushed and Allie could chat all she wanted. Those are experiences you never forget.

It's funny because unlike Melissa, I can't do the tea cups, but Dumbo has never bothered me since there isn't any fast spinning. Do you still dislike Dumbo or have you made friends with it?

How cute that Grandpa Jim got in on all the fun and was "knighted." Allie being the "doggy footstool" must have been a first in her career? I'll bet that everything at home is your Great Dane's footstool.

Could it have been that Allie was just really tired so Beast seemed a bit scary? You guys really closed down the park. Can you believe we've never been the first in nor the last out? We're always somewhere in between.

love the pictures from the Tea Cup - great shots and looks like fun

The meet with the Fairy Godmother sounds wonderful ... seems like with any trip there is one meet & greet that stands out / is a surprise at how great it is

Love the idea of a "Clam-mobile Date" ... almost like the Disney version of the tunnel of love :)

We are yet to score an ADR for dinner at BOG but have enjoyed lunch there a few times. The shrimp/scallop dish looks like one of those that would be amazing when cooked properly but if not then would be a bit of a disaster so glad yours was good

Glad things worked out and you got to see wishes ... sometimes it can be fun to see Wishes from different view points. We've watching it from behind the Castle and that can be fun as it feels like the fireworks are all around you :goodvibes

Pictures of the tea-cups are so great! Even though I can't do them.. Still cool pics! LOL

LOVE the pics of the Fairy Godmother! We actually just found a few weeks ago that we are expecting and I booked our February trip, one last hurrah while it's just the boys and should know what the baby is around the time and thought I might could do a gender reveal thing with the FG or Cinderella. :)

Sadly, no POR this time. We are wanting to save money and Lawson is obsessed with sports right now so we are going to stay at All-Star Sports and just visit POR. :)

I so want to try BOG- dinner sounded great and great pic with the Beast!

POTC is my second favorite ride at MK!

The character interactions really were great, and the Fairy godmother was one of the best. It is neat that Allie enjoyed talking with them, instead of looking tortured like she did a couple of years ago.

Melissa still doesn't like Dumbo, mainly because of anxiety over the height. She really doesn't like being up in the air like that. We took some of our engagement photos on the teacups, since we had great photographers who were willing to play along too, and since then they have been one of our favorites.

It was super strange being among the last ones out of Frontierland. There were still people on Main street when we left though, so I am sure we were far from the last ones out. We aren't any good at getting there early either, except for an early Crystal Palace ADR, which is coming up in a couple of days.

Allie had been saying she was scared of the Beast most of the trip, so I think as she interacts more with the characters she sees them as more real, and therefore got more scared of him. She still has her stuffed one from last year, and will snuggle with him but he is a lot smaller than the life size version.

Yeah, it was fun to get to play with the camera on the teacups. It is just a neat classic Disney shot, and a great chance to play with the camera. Fortunately it is easy to ignore the ones that didn't turn out.

The Clam-mobile-Date was fun, although we were pretty closely supervised by the occupants of the clam ahead of us. That kept it appropriate for public display. ;)

We have done BOG for dinner twice now and always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. It probably isn't worth fighting tooth and nail for the ADR, but we have done well booking at our 180 day mark for late in our trips.

We do enjoy Wishes from odd angles. It is spectacular from Main street, but from other places it is fun to see the different fireworks launching locations that all line up to look great from main street. Disney puts on a great fireworks show. :thumbsup2

Congratulations! We've noticed your references to the possibility of a third, and it is great that you might have the chance to reveal the gender at WDW.

All Star Sports should be fun, and like you said you can still have the fun of visiting any resort you want, so some time at POR and even the Grand Floridian sounds like a plan.

We like POTC, and it is Melissa's and my favorite ride at Disneyland, but it just feels so much shorter at WDW. I guess this time we got the extended version, but it still isn't the same as at home...

Again congratulations, and enjoy your upcoming trip!

All of Allies pictures are just perfect with her face paint. And the fairy godmother looks like an absolute dream.

Your BoG meal looks great. Could so totally go for any of their cupcakes right about now.

Score on the fireworks in frontier land and deserted exit. That is certainly an anomaly these days.

The photos of Allie with the Fairy Godmother are so great! A good character meet is so wonderful for the little ones.

BoG looks fabulous! I hate so much about their lunches, but the dinner menu looks just delicious! And that dessert tray, oh boy! A girl could get in trouble with all those delicious sweets.

Love the photos of the empty park and the fireworks. There really isn't a bad place to see fireworks, I think, especially in the MK.

This is my first time posting after having read a load of trip reports since joining - yours is by far my favourite! I especially love that you post how long it takes to get everywhere, as a lot of people tend to stick with the standard whinge of "it took forever" which does make it difficult to work out times!! I'm at the early planning stages of our first trip from Australia, and your report has given me so much information - thank you!! Your wee girl is a delight, and I must say I'm just a tad jealous as I have three boys, and no girls...although luckily I have the sweetest niece ever created! Unfortunately she won't be coming with us, so I will secretly be adding Enchanted Tales with Belle to the agenda :0) up until now I had my heart set on CBR, but I am really enjoying the pictures of POR...decisions, decisions...I'm hoping that CBR will be one of your future resort visits. Thanks again for a great report...now I just have to figure out how to post this :0)

it's taken me way too long to read the trip report, but I finally had some down time. I loved every bit of the trip and am awed by how expertly Melissa and Paul planned every detail. I am excited remembering all the fun as I read the TR. As many of you have posted, Allie is a sweetheart, and I'm lucky to be her Grandpa Jim.

Yes, the face paint was a big hit. SO much so that she just had to do it again later in the trip.

We really enjoyed BOG. It probably isn't worth freaking out over trying to get the ADR, but we sure do enjoy our meals there.

We did great with MK crowds. It is funny how the rain drove people away that night, because it had been pretty crowded when we got there, but it rained hard for a while to scare everyone off, so we were left with a nice empty park and only light showers. :cool1:

Yes, Allie really enjoyed chatting with the fairy godmother, and this was definitely the trip of character interactions for her. She grew up a lot in two years. :goodvibes

I wish we had gotten out the good camera for some nice empty park pics, but it was still raining a bit so we were limited to my phone. We also had that feeling like we were late, so we were headed for the exit, or at least to catch up with the crowd.

First of all Welcome! Thank you so much for following along and posting your kind comments. I'm sorry we got busy the last couple of days and didn't see your post until today.

I'm glad that you enjoy reading about the travel times. Sometimes I feel like it is excessive detail, but I like knowing how long stuff actually took. We really do enjoy using the Disney transportation, especially to go visit other resorts and stuff. Sometimes trips just feel long, and sometimes they are long, but overall they usually aren't bad at all. Just consider it all part of the fun and you'll do fine.

Unfortunately we have never visited CBR. It was on our short list of new resorts to visit this trip, but we didn't make it over there. With the recent refurbishment and now Queen beds it should be very nice. This was our first Moderate stay, having stayed at WL before, but either way we are impressed with Disney.

Your trip should be great, and don't worry about the boys enjoying Enchanted Tales with Belle. Each time we have done it the boys had a ball, and Belle's interaction with them can be very entertaining. My mom had to wait 30 years to finally get her girl, when Allie was born. :lovestruc

Thanks again for posting and enjoy your trip planning.:thumbsup2

Hi Dad :yay: Aren't the trip reports fun? It is neat to write about all the fun we had and share our pictures. We certainly took enough, it is fun to do something with them. ;)

I woke up about 7:15 and posted on the DIS before getting out of bed. Then I got up and took a shower, then left the room about 8AM for a mug refill walk. I texted Grandpa Jim, and we met up about 8:25. We then walked around the resort together, and walked to the West Depot bus stop which was the furthest from our room. We walked around the Mansions too, and found the entire resort to be very nice.

We really liked our room location in the Alligator Bayou buildings though.

We saw groups of housekeepers in golf carts spreading out across the resort, which was pretty neat. They have quite a system.

We also saw a trailer behind a golf cart that looked like a Nascar track jet dryer, just in miniature.

We both thought it was kind of cool.

It was nice to wake up to some sunshine after the rain the night before.

I got back to the room a little after 9:00, then headed out to get her a mug refill while she got up and dressed. We watched the news a little while we were getting ready, and heard about the JetBlue flight 1416 engine failure, which had occurred the day before on the same flight that we took from Long Beach to Austin. Fortunately it worked out ok, but we were very glad that wasn't our flight.

I didn't want to hear about it because we still had the flight home and I didn't want to be too anxious on the way home.

We headed to breakfast at the Mill a little after 10, and I enjoyed having another made to order omelet.

Our itinerary this day included Hollywood Studios so after breakfast we made our way to the bus stop to head that way.

The trip to the park went pretty quick, with us arriving at the bus stop at 11 AM and the bus arriving a couple of minutes later.

While on the very full bus we met a nice family from Nova Scotia who was just trying to figure out how to work the MDE app and link accounts.

We helped them out and gave them a quick tutorial on making FP+ with the app and told them how to make them at the kiosk once they got into the park.

We got to Hollywood Studios at 11:18. This meant we had once again missed the Frozen welcome parade, but not having had to rush in the morning was worth it. We did see that there was an 11:45 Beauty and the Beast show, so Grandma and Allie headed to watch that together.

While Grandpa, Paul and I used our FP+ to ride Rockin Rollercoaster. This is a great rollercoaster and I love Aerosmith so it makes it a doubly good.

Afterward we played around with the camera a bit and Melissa got a neat shot of us in the rear view mirror of the car hanging above us.

Then we did some shopping before and after we met back up with Grandma and Allie.

Pretty soon it was time to go check in for our ADR at Hollywood and Vine. The line to check in was pretty long so Grandma and Grandpa chilled on a bench while Paul Allie and I waited.

The CMs only wanted one person from each party in the check in line, but Melissa still kept me company. Once we were checked in, we had a while to wait sitting outside and Allie was pretty wild. She amused herself by climbing on me and doing flips, and then showing off her dance moves.

She really needed to run off some excess energy but it was time for lunch so we headed inside.

We were seated at 12:50 at the same table we had here two years ago. This time I was most excited about the food, because we always find something great here.

We hit the buffet and the first character around was Handy Manny. Allie was shy so she didnt take a picture with him but Daddy did.

I enjoyed taking a picture with Manny, because he is one of my favorites. We have a lot in common. Fortunately Allie warmed up to the idea of seeing characters, and soon asked to go meet Manny for her own picture, and he obliged.

The food is pretty good here (I'm not a buffet fan) but the big thing I think it lacks is desert options. Paul might argue with me because there is soft serve ice cream but I am more of a cupcake girl.

The food that impresses me here is the variety of really good options in the buffet. Besides the made to order pasta there are always many different entres in the buffet. Last year there was a chicken salad that I loved, and this year everybody really enjoyed the barbecue meatballs. I'll agree that the dessert isn't the most exceptional, but there is a decent variety of cakes and pastries and soft serve to top them with, so I'm happy.

Yes the meatballs were worth the price of admission, they were yummy.

The real reason we had to come back here this year was the characters though, and Allie enjoyed them. She got to meet Jake, and then the two new additions that sealed the deal, Sofia and Doc McStuffins.

It was cute, Allie told Sofia that she was her favorite princess, and Doc that she was her favorite doctor, all on her own.

She even showed Sofia that she had an amulet of her own.

After lunch we decided we were ready to head out, so we did some shopping on the way out. We bought a stuffed Sven, a T shirt with the old WDW logo, and the promotional watch for Grandma since she liked it and had a birthday coming up right after the trip.

As we made it to the bus stop at 2:24 it had just started to rain, which seemed to disturb Allie.

So the clouds started rolling in as we made our way to the bus stop and it started pouring buckets. We stood there for a couple of minutes watching it rain when Allie announced she had to go potty. Of course.....

so I sprinted with her in the rain all the way back to the entrance of the park (the restrooms are just to the left of guest services) and we managed to just get a little wet. We made it back before the bus got there but just barely.

The bus arrived at 2:37 (shortly after Melissa and Allie got back) and they had multiple ECVs to load. We got on the bus at 2:44 and a guest wouldn't fold his stroller to make room, so I gave up my seat so that a guy could sit down with a baby. We were finally on our way by 2:48, then to POFQ at 3:05 and finally back to POR at 3:13. This gave us the opportunity to hang out at the resort in the middle of the day for the first time of this trip.

See what we did, and our evening adventures in the next update.

Another amazingly detailed post! Early mornings at the resorts are the BEST. Everything is quiet, clean and serene. It can often be like your own private resort. It's fun, too to see what goes on before most guests are up.

Love that you found a Mickey shirt with glasses on. I suspect Allie will have one soon or are they only for adults?

Very clever of Melissa to snap the photos of you in the rear view mirror! I think Jim was snoozing there in the back seat?

Allie seems to LOVE the H&V characters and none got a reaction like Beast did:upsidedow

Still can't figure out why they won't put those Disney Transport arrival time TVs at all the resorts:confused3
