Hi all,

We'll be staying at CSR and Wyndham soon (soooo excited!!!). I can't remember what we did last time, so I thought I'd ask what everyone else does about charging electric toothbrushes at the hotels? Are there shaver sockets in CSR/Wyndham that will take a 220v electric toothbrush? If not, what do people usually do? Do you use a converter?

Thanks :wizard:

They will not work

For a 2 week stay .. just go and Buy a Real old fashioned Tooth Brush

Forget about a converter

you need a socket adapter just to plug your device in.

In order to operate in the US, your device must state something like 110-220v (or 100-240v) and 50-60Hz on its label. Or it won't work

for example :

mains socket looks like this

We never bother with electric toothbrushes while on holiday in the US. It is much easier to just take regular toothbrushes for use then. We just keep them in our owners locker.

Again I agree with Wilma Bride .... Just buy a few tooth brushes at Tesco

or Boots ...... And you never know you might need them next winter when

the electricity fails

Another alternative would be to buy the battery operated toothbrushes if you really don't want to use manual ones

We've successfully used a Philips Sonicare via a normal USA mains adaptor - most of them have round shaver holes combined with rectangular 3 pin. Never even thought about it to be honest - most switch-mode power supplies cope with multi-voltage these days.

Do you really need to take the charger with you? My Phillips shaver can go a month with daily use before the battery dies. Plenty.

We usually bring manual brushes but this trip decided to bring the electric one. Just tried to charge it, after reading your post, using the shaver socket that you plug into the adapter and it isn't working. As others have said bring manual ones as an electric one will not last 2 weeks.
