Sharon's Journal -150 here I come!

Sharon,

You are so back on program. you came in under points AND exercised yesterday. WTG! Those pounds are going to melt away! Keep it up! I was a little surprised to see Matt go. I thought the Weasley, aka Sinatra boy, would at least be in the bottom 3. He forgot the words for heaven's sake! Of the 3 in the bottom, I thought Camille would be history. I will say Matt's serenade of Simon was classic. Kimberly is Awesome. I'll buy her album.

Have a good one.

Hi Sharon!

Just taking a break from cake decorating to check in with you. Good job with the exercising yesterday! I managed a mile on the treadmill before heading off to bed. I say yes to a repeat of the pact. You'll keep me motivated...don't want to let you down. ::yes::

Have a good afternoon! I'll check back in later.

~Angela :wave2:

:wave2: Hi Sharon. Just wanted to stop by and wish you a happy Friday.

Hi all! I had anither good day yesterday!:teeth: This week has been really good for me. I hope I can continue through the weekend!!::yes::
I didn't exercise yesterday - sorry Angela :( ! But I have power walked at the mall today and am going to hit the stepper this evening, so that is good!:hyper:
Yesterdays food was
100 oz water
B- small banana & 1/2 cup cheerios 2.5 pts
L - lean pocket Chicken Fajita 4 pts
D - Wendy's Chicken Strips 9 pts
S - choc covered pretzels  4 pts

Total for the day 19.5 (target 22)

I ordered pizza today for the kids - its a no meat day for us. I had a piece and ya know what? It really didn't taste that great to me! I can't believe it after all the trouble I had the last time we had pizza, but boy o boy am I relieved! I also ordered ziti with sauce and a salad, so that's what I'm having for dinner.

The sun is out and it is up to about 62 degrees!:teeth: :smooth: I am feeling so good right about now! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi Sharon!

No need to apologize for not exercising. I didn't get any exercise in on Friday, so it looks like we're even. We'll have to start fresh with the new week. ::yes::

I've got to say that it's great to see how positive you're feeling. I love all the :sunny: and :teeth: in your post. You're making great strides!

Isn't it funny how quickly our tastes change? We went out for cheeseburgers and fries for lunch today, and the fries were just way too greasy. A few weeks ago I could have downed them in a flash!

You're doing a wonderful job and are such an inspiration. I really appreciate all the encouragement you've given me. Hope that you've had a fabulous weekend!

~Angela :wave2:

:wave2: Hi Sharon,
I hope you are enjoying this warm weather we are having even if yesterday wasn't quite so sunny. Friday was gorgeous :sunny: . I'm so happy for you that you are back on track and losing again. I'm at a frustrating point right now and at least I can say to myself that this happened to Sharon and she worked through it ::yes:: . Wishing you a very happy Sunday :sunny: !

Wow Sharon! You're in such a postive mood! I think it will radiate to everyone on the DIS! You're making great choices and no need to fret about not getting exercise in one day! It does the body good to relax a bit.

Enjoy that weather you're having up there! It sounds positively delightful! Hope you have a great Sunday!

hey there sharon! i'm loving reading about all these food victories you're having! avoiding goodies at work, pizza at home, and all around just sticking to good food choices, i'm totally impressed :bounce:

did you enjoy that wonderful weather this weekend? i think it finally is spring in these parts! i know rain is coming this week, but at least it's not freezing outside anymore! a girl could get used to this :smooth:

oh yeah...i meant to ask you...did that crash on i95 affect you at all? i know it was in connecticut somewhere, and it made me think of you when i heard about it. hope it hasn't made traffic too bad, if it even affects you at all.

here's to a great and :sunny: week

Happy Monday to you, Sharon!

I hope that you had a wonderful weekend and got to enjoy some of that sunshine. :sunny:

Are we back on for exercise today? I've made myself a lofty goal for this week, and I can use the extra motivation, if you're game.

Have a great day!

~Angela :wave2:

Sharon, I know I'm REALLY late on this one but I've just gotta celebrate!!!

:jumping3: :cool1: PLATEAU BUSTED!!! :cool1: :jumping3:

Good for you!!! I'm so happy you stuck it out and you are seeing the results!!! You must be feeling great!

Your food choices have improved dramatically and you're getting back into your exercise routine - you are being so good to you, Sharon!! ::yes::

Have a wonderful Monday!! :sunny:

Wow Sharon,

You are inspiring me today. You are OP and exercising. You sound so positive it is infectious. Great job this weekend.
Have a great Monday.

Hi All! Gosh, where does the time go?????
Anyhow, I enjoyed the weekend - the weather was beautiful! I was kind of off plan eating wise, but not too bad. I am back OP 100% this morning, so all is well!:teeth:
Angela - YES! we are definitely on for exercise today!! I need to make up for my eating oops from this weekend, so stepper it is tonight!!
Doe - Thanks for the encouragement that helped break through that plateau. If it weren't for all of my wonderful WISH buddies, I don't think I would have made it!!::yes::
Marcia - can you believe me and the pizza???!!! man oh man have I made progress!! And yes, the I95 mishap is right where I live. It has definitely impacted me - I have to really stop and think before I go anywhere. The traffic around here is horrendous to begin with. Now it is just plain ridiculous!!! I mean you TRULY can't get anywhere. Schools are opening late, people can't get to work or back home.... They said southbound section may reopen by Thursday. I sure do hope so!!!
Desiree - yes , I have been somewhat positive, huh?!!:hyper: It sure helps to keep me OP, so I'm trying to stay that way!
Val- Yes, this weather has been wonderful!! Doesn't look good for the rest of this week, but if it gets sunny by the weekend again, that would be okay!!:teeth: And stick with what your doing!! We will all get through this together!!:smooth:

Alright, the details from the weekend are: 1) I just plain fell apart Saturday. I was just Queen Snacky!princess: Girl Scout cookies came in, Easter candy fundraiser from school came in, I totally lost control! Points wise, it wasn't THAT bad, but control wise - well, lets not go there!
2) Sunday I was back in control. But I went to a bridal shower that was a brunch. I made good choices, but wasn't perfect. I am happy with the choices I made, so that is good. Points were definitely higher than usual, but I'm not beating myself up over it.
I did get on the stepper last night, so that was another positive for the day. I'm not gonna give all the details for the day - its just too long. But points wise I had about 28 pts, target is 22.

So I am back 100% today.::yes:: I am feeling very :sunny: and absolutely positive that by July 4th, I can lose another 15 lbs! I know I can, I know I can, I know I can.........
i hope everyone else is having a wonderful Monday!! Take GOOD care of you!:teeth:

Okay girls - I need some input here (totally off topic!;) )
My DS (6) is part of a First Friday mass at school this Friday. He is going to be doing a small reading part. I am scheduled to have some minor surgery done on Friday and I would miss the mass. Should I reschedule? My first instinct is to reschedule my surgery. My DH says no, he'll go to mass. But I'm a real hands on Mom - I never miss these type of things. I don't know if I could handle missing it. The surgery is elective, not life threatening stuff..... I really want to be at the mass, but I probably won't be able to reschedule the surgery until May 7 at best. What would you do?:(

Okay, Sharon, here are my 2 cents....

I would reschedule the surgery and go to the mass. You said that it's not life-threatening, and really May isn't that far away. I think that you and I are pretty similar with the mommy stuff, and I know how I'd feel if I missed something like this with my kids. My DH would say the same thing yours did, and maybe your DS won't even remember down the road whether you were there or not, but I know I'd remember. You know how I am, though. I'm the woman that rescheduled a doctor's appointment to go to a wedding for two letters for goodness sake.

 to you with making this decision. I know you're torn.

By the way, I did my 3 miles. How'd you do? :teeth:

~Angela

OK Sharon,

I'll have to put in my 2 cents. My answer depends on the surgery. Is it something that is causing you pain? Is it a comfort thing? Will the surgery cause you to feel better? If yes, then have the surgery. 6 weeks is a long time to wait if you are in discomfort. If it is something that isn't causing discomfort or there is no danger to you to postpone go to the mass. Is there anyway that DH can tape the performance? I know our priest won't allow taping. If you don't go, schedule some one on one time with DS.

Good Luck on the decision.
Beth

sharon, that's a tough one, and i know i'm not a mommy like most of the other ladies around here, but i agree with beth. if it's really something that's not a big deal (the surgery), then definitely reschedule. i know my mom always wanted to be at our stuff growing up, and we'd always say, no way mom, we don't need you, yadda yadda, who knows if we even noticed that she was there. but it's nice to look back on now and know that she really was always there for us, and she did everything to rearrange her schedule for us. not saying that parents don't care if they don't have the time...i know everyone has a different schedule. but yeah, anyway.

i think especially because it is such a big deal for you, as long as rescheduling the surgery wouldn't cause you harm, then go to the mass. hope this helps, although, i'm sure it just made it more complicated :p . i'm good at that, not really giving an answer, but just pretending to :p

Hi Sharon,

I don't know what I would do about the surgery. I try to never miss anything my kids do but...you have to remember that you come first. I agree if you will be in any discomfort from not having the surgery then you should have it. If it is a simple procedure that you can wait on, I would wait. You shouldn't feel guilty if you miss his reading. Us Mom's have a way of making ourselves feel guilty over everything. Good luck with your decision and let us know what you decide.

Just stopping by to wish you a good morning, Sharon!

Hope you have a wonderful day and that the evil stepper was no match for you last night. We'll be exercise pros by the end of this week! :p

~Angela :wave2:

Hi All! thank you for your input. I have decided to postpone my surgery. It really is no big deal, no discomfort, etc. And my DS is still young enough to want me around. I know enough to be there now because sooner or later, he won't want me any where near him! And it will mean a lot to him to have me there, so I will move heaven and earth to be there!::yes::

Okay, back to business. I had a GREAT day yesterday! I stayed OP 100% and exercised on my *evil* stepper for 20 min. It was a good, hard 20 min, so I am quite pleased with that. I have also started having a grapefruit every morning (thanks Amanda ;) ). I feel really positive that I am going to see big payoffs in the next month or so by sticking with this. My peek at the scale yesterday wasn't so good, but even that is okay. I know from the last few weeks that if I just buckle down and ride it out, the scale will eventually cooperate. Official weigh in is tomorrow for me, so we shall see.....,:yo-yo:
Yesterdays food was:

100 oz water
B- 1/2 grapefruit .5 pt, honey nut cheerios 2 pts
L- Wendy's chicken strips 7 pts
D- pork roast, broccoli, carrots, small baked potatoe 9.5 pts
S - peanuts 4 pts

total was 23 points ( 22 target, 1 APS) so that means I am rolling my bear!!:teeth:
I feel really positive and :sunny: (even though it is supposed rain until Saturday...... ) I just know that by summertime, I am going to be looking and feeling better!!!::yes::
Hope everyone has a great day!

:wave2: Hi Sharon,
You are sure on a great roll with eating and exercise ::yes:: ! I would have done the same thing with surgery as long as it was something that could be rescheduled. You're right, they grow up too fast and for him to say he really wants you there, that means a lot :) .

I keep thinking of you when I hear about the I-95 problem. Hope they get it straightened out soon.

Hope you have a wonderful day :sunny: ! Did you have snow flurries this morning? We did  . At least it didn't stick though. I think at this time last year we were still covered in snow.
