Sharon's Journal -150 here I come!

Sharon,

I'm so happy you went out for Breakfast. Figuring out how to incorporate family traditions into your program is what will keep you on this journey. My DM makes the BEST belgium waffles. YUMMY!

I hope you enjoy the :sunny: despite the cold temperatures. I know you will tackle the evil stepper tonight.

Have a good Monday,
Beth

Okay Ms. Sharon - for someone counting their blessings you sure are not giving yourself enough credit! Look at the good choices you are making! Look at the healthy life style you are chosing! The weight will come off - I promise - but you need to believe that it will.

So lets :moped: away from all these negative feelings and concentrate on the good! I'm sending lots of good :goodvibes to you today and I want to see a more cheerful post this morning.

As for this afternoon - I KNOW you are going to get through it. You have the power to do so!

~Amanda

Thanks for the wake-up call Amanda!:teeth: Your right, I am living much healthier and I need to give myself more credit for that. The slowness of this weight loss is driving me nuts though! I also think that if I could see some REAL spring weather, my attitude would be more :sunny: !! :p
Beth - you are right, I need to incorporate family traditions occassionally if I am going to succeed on this WOL long term. ::yes:: Thanks for pointing that out to me! ::yes::

Sharon~

Your bear looks great! Way to start the month. Amanda and Beth are so right--keep up the great work. Your goals for the month look good and I know you can reach 75%! Just get on that stepper when you can. I get up at 5:30 every day so I know how you feel about working out in the morning. I wish I could, but there is no way I could teach all day if I got up earlier. I promise spring is on its way. I was disappointed to come home to such cold weather, but it will pass. Here's a little sunshine for you--:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: ! Have a great day, Sharon! TTYL :)

:wave2: Hi Sharon,
Well at least look at the bright side that we didn't wake up to any dreaded s**w this morning ;) ! I don't get the yogurt thing either. I was going to buy some at the store this week thinking it was a healthy snack and decided it wasn't worth the fat and calories unless it was a meal sustitute.

Hope your day goes well despite that hour loss of sleep. I'm exhausted myself since I didn't fall asleep until 1 a.m. :o . Wishing you a bright and sunny (even if it is windy and cold ;) ) day :sunny: !

Good morning Sharon!

Sorry I've been missing from your journal for the past few days. The weekend just gets so busy sometimes. I don't think I even posted to mine until this morning. I was thinking about you, though. :D

I'm so glad that you decided to go to your DS's mass on Friday. Those times are just so precious. I'm sure I would have been crying right along with you. Where does the time go?

You are doing an incredible job with both your food choices and your exercise. Your goals for the month are reflecting just how dedicated you are to this new way of life. I know it's terribly difficult to stay positive when the scale is being a big pain in the you know where. You've heard it a million times, but if you just keep doing what you've been doing, the scale will move for you eventually. You are doing all the right things...taking care of your body is one of the best gifts you can give yourself. ::yes::

Have you tried Yoplait Whips? All the flavors I've tried are only 3 points. I know that's still kind of high for a snack, but they're great. Just an option if you're in need of a yogurt fix.

Okay...I've almost finished with the novel. We are on for the exercise challenge this week! I vow to get moving every single day this week....either miles on the treadmill, the Pilates workouts (which I'm still sore from, by the way  ) or yard work. Hold me to the fire, okay? :p

Sending you some :sunny: and hopes that you get a good night's sleep tonight. Novel completed. :p

~Angela :wave2:

low fat yogurt! every variety i've seen is just 2 points! columbo is 8 oz, while most of the others are 6, and it's still 2 points! i've been doing stonyfield farms lately, cause it's organic and has the live cultures and all that good stuff. but definitely go for the low fat. 2 points is muuuuch better than 4 ::yes::

now that i've got that taken care of :p , i'm so very glad that you went out for breakfast with the fam! i know it's been easier for you to stay home while they went instead of being tempted, but good for you for figuring out the points, and treating yourself. you've got to be able to do this stuff with your family, so great job fitting it into your points! :bounce:

this cold weather really has to go, i agree! i mean come on. but at least it didn't snow  . our visitors from vegas almost dont' know what to do with themselves...they think 60 degrees is cold! i think that's hysterical

anyway, here's some extra :sunny: , maybe it'll convince the real thing to stay around! hope you have a great day today :hyper:

Hi Sharon! It looks like you are off to a great start for the month. I completely understand about this cold weather making it hard to stay focused. I can't wait for it to feel like spring.

On this yogurt thing, I have to tell you I went to the store yesterday and was so psyched. They had yogurt cups with granola - YUMMY!! It is low fat yogurt and low fat granola. 220 calories, 2 fat grams, 1 fiber gram = 4 pts!:( I just had one for lunch with carrots cuz I didn't have anything else, so 4 pts was fine, but it definitely isn't in the snack category! What a bummer! i thought I had found myself a nice little treat for about 2 pts or so! Oh well!
Steph - its great to hear from you! I've missed you!
PS - I picked up a coffee for this afternoon so I don't fall asleep at my desk!:faint: It would be so easy cuz I'm the only one in the office on Mondays!

Good morning Sharon!

Okay...it's Tuesday morning, and I've already broken the vow I posted here yesterday. Sometime after I posted here I decided that I'd settle for 6 days a week of working out. Good thing, too, because I didn't get to exercise yesterday. I'll stick to it today and for the rest of the week....pinkie swear!

Hope that you have a great day!

~Angela :wave2:

Recap on my goals for yesterday:

1) vitamins 5/5
2) blessings counted 5/5
3) cheat free 5/5
4) exercise 3/5

I did 20 min on the stepper last night, so I met my goal of 3 times for this week. I am still going to get on again tonight. 3 times a week is the MINIMUM, 4 times is better. ::yes:: Food for yesterday was REALLY good too:

100 oz water
B- 1/2 grapefruit, Apple cinn oatmeal 2.5 pts
L- carrots, yogurt with granola 4 pts
D- 1 1/2 cups beef stew 8.5 pts
S - peanuts 4 pts, banana 1.5 pts

Total for day 20.5 (target 22, 2 APS) Well, if I don't lose weight, I am still gonna be healthy! I'll be the healthiest overweight person in town!! Seriously, I am really trying to stay OP. 1) because I want this darn scale to go down, 2) because I figure Sunday is Easter and I'm sure there will be some challenges in that.
Oh- new recipe!!! Take one box cake mix (regular, no pudding or anything), mix with 1 can diet soda and put in 24 cupcake tins. Each cupcake is 1 point ! They are delicous and VERY moist! Maybe a little FF cool whip on top if you want frosting! Someone at work made them and I just had yellow cake with diet sprite - YUMMY! How about orange soda with yellow cake? Cola with chocolate cake? What a nice low point option for dessert!!!:hyper:
The week is off to a great start. I hope to see something nice on the scale tomorrow morning! :smooth:
Have a great day everyone! The sun is out here, but it is cold again - 40 degress as I type this.

:wave2: Hi Sharon,
I'll have to try that cake mix trick next time we have some cans of diet soda hanging around. Sounds yummy ::yes:: ! Excellent job with your food yesterday! If you keep this up, that darn scale is bound to get moving in the downward direction :D . Hope you have a wonderful day :sunny: !

sharon, i've heard about the diet coke cake! i actually had my mom buy a box of devil's food cake when i was starting ww so that i could do that...but never got aroudn to it. good thing too, i probably couldn't stop at 1  . i think "legal" treats are evil. once i start, i just can't stop. but at least i know this about myself, so i can prevent it, or at least try to. eeeeenough about me!

you've already got in your 3 times per week exercise, and you're about to get to 4! that's great! congratulations on making that goal for the week :bounce:

and i'm loving your attitude. you surely are treating your body right, eating the right stuff, getting in your exercise. even if that scale doesn't move, you are being so healthy, and that has to have other lasting effects ::yes::

we've got sun too, but also cold and wind! brrr. i think it wouldn't be too bad if not for the wind. spring is coming, really it is. we just don't know when

good luck with weigh in tomorrow, i'll be checking in on you to see how it went! hope you have a great rest of the day today too! :sunny:

Hey Sharon,

I've had the cake/sprite cupcakes. They are yummy. Here's some:wizard: for weigh in tomorrow. great job with the evil stepper.

:sunny:
Beth

Sharon,
Those cupcakes sure sound yummy! Maybe I'll head out to the store this afternoon and give them a try.

Great job on meeting your exercise goal for the week already! Plus, your menu yesterday was wonderful! That scale will have to cooperate soon!::yes:: Or else, your WISH buddies will have to take care of that scale for you.:teeth: ;) :wizard: for your weigh-in today.

Have a great day today, Sharon! The weather is supposed to be 60 and sunny here today, but right now it's 40 and very cloudy. I hope it's sunny and warm where you are today. Take care!

Tracy:wave2:

Well ladies, it is time for a scale bashing party! I left it out on the front porch, so if anyone would like to stop by and kick it, feel free! I weighed in at 173.5 this morning. That is a .5 gain for the week! I have seriously tried to look at what I'm doing. A bunch of the women here at work are all on WW too. I have compared notes, tried to pinpoint what, if anything I'm doing wrong. I just can't figure it out!! But I'm STILL not giving in. I KNOW that eventually it will come off!:bounce:
You guys must think I'm crazy. I honestly don't eat anything that I don't put down here. (Except for an occassional bite of something my kids or husband are eating - and that is VERY occassional!) My blood tests for the thyroid came back fine. All I can say is I knew my metabolism was screwed up before I even started this. I guess it is even more screwed up than I thought! Oh, and yesterday morning the scale said 172.5!!!
Goals update:
1) vitamins 6/6
2) count blessings 6/6
3) cheat free 6/6
4) exercise - Yes!! 4/6

Food for Tuesday:
100oz water
B- 1/2 grapefruit .5 pts, soda cupcake 1 pt
L- roast beef on rye with spinach and lt. mayo 6.5 pts, yogurt with granola 4 pts
D- McDs bacon ranch salad with FF dressing 6 pts, 1 chicken strip 3.5 pts
S- Banana 1.5 pts, soda cupcake 1 pt

Total for day 24 pts (target 22, APS 2) So I have been cheat free for 6 days straight now. I am having a very strong start to my month. I feel confident and in control. AND I exercised again last night! :teeth: That was 4 times this week on my stepper for 20 min! I am making a lot of progress on my exercise lately. :hyper:
I just don't know what else to say - I am truly stumped today!!TTFN-
Sharon:wave2:

Sharon if I may make a gentle suggestion. I've tried WW before as well - I always lost 5 lbs and then stalled and didn't move no matter how hard I tried. Now there are a lot of people that have great success with WW - Our princess: Erin being on of them. But even Erin admitts that not every program works for everybody. My body happens to respond a heck of a lot better to a High protein low carb diet. Now you do not have to do Atkins - I don't!

My suggestion would be that if you complete this month at 100% with WW and see no change in that darn scale you may want to try another program.

Either way I wish you the best of luck! It is frustrating when the scale doesn't move!

~Amanda

 That stinkin' scale! I'll be over later to give it a good bashing! I'm sure you already do these things Sharon, but I'm throwing them out there just in case. Do you weigh at the same time of day wearing the same thing? Do you not weigh right after you've eaten? Perhaps Amanda's suggestion of switching programs will be just what you need. Hugs to you my friend  . We all know how hard you've been working and it has to pay off soon.

Hi Sharon!

I'm searching for that trusty sledgehammer of mine. Since I can't afford a plane ticket to CT right now, I'll just fed-ex the hammer to you. You can get some strength training and bash the **** out of that scale at the same time. :p I'm sorry that it's not cooperating with you right now.

However....I am so proud of you for remaining positive and sticking with your program 100%! I think Amanda's suggestion might be a good option for you. If you're giving your all and the scale's not cooperating after an extended period of time, then I'd definitely try something else.

Stay positive and keep up that exercise! You're doing an amazing job! ::yes::

~Angela :wave2:

  Sharon,

Sorry that weighin didn't go well. Don't break a toe kicking the scale. Switching programs might not be a bad idea, but I'd wait until the end of the month. You might want to check out the South beach book in the meantime. You are amazing and an inspiration. You stay positive through this. You are one determined woman.

:sunny:
