Sharing table-service meals?

Can two adults sit down and share one table-service meal? We aren't big eaters and want to stretch out our table-service meals without taking home left-overs.

Yes, we weren't happy with the kids menus at many places so we found that 2 adult meals feed the 4 of us just fine. :thumbsup2

It worked out nicely because we had extra credits for the last day. My youngest is only 2 so she wasn't on the plan too.

We just got back tonight from 4 nights at POFQ on the DDP. My 13yr old DS and I shared a meal at the Sci Fi Dine In. Our server, who initially had been very chatty and friendly, changed his entire demeanor and barely said a word to us once I told him that my son and I would be sharing the cheeseburger meal. It was allowed, though, and the burger even came out cut in half and put on two plates, with the fries split as well and lettuce and tomato on both plates, which was more than I expected, I would have been fine with splitting it ourselves. My son may be an 'adult' diner to Disney, but he still basically eats like a kid, and I wasn't all that hungry either, between the two of us, we still didn't eat the whole burger or finish the ice cream sundae. I did leave an additional tip, despite the server's obvious displeasure with all of us not ordering our own meals, as I thought that was appropriate. If Disney wants to, they should institute a couple dollar plate sharing charge, plenty of other places do, but they should instruct their servers to remain friendly no matter what or how much the guests order.

The server should remain friendly, but they're human, and I suspect their change in demeanor reflects that fact that many other guests neglected the expectation that you fulfilled, i.e., to provide an additional tip to cover the service of the person not ordering a meal, since that tip is not included in the Dining Plan. The more consciencious folks do so, hopefully, the less we'll see of servers reacting this way to split-meal requests.

Wow that is surprising. DH and used to share meals as a rule before they allowed DVC to get the dinning plan. We still split meals with the 2 year old since she can't get her own dinning plan. Like you said they often split it for you in the Kitchen and are normally really good about it. It was just lame for the server to act that way. Sorry she did that to you.
