It depends on what you mean by "share dining plan credits."
When we had the dining plan, you couldn't share your dining credits to pay for someone not on your dining plan.
We were able to use one credit for two people to share a meal as long as both of us were on the same dining plan. It was a way to use a credit when neither of us was very hungry or to offset some of the meals at signature restaurants that require two credits. This was pre-covid so hopefully it is still allowed.

I think in this context the poster was asking as example .... there are 2 of you on the DDP and another 2 people join you. Can OP pay for the other two with their credits? and that would be no. The DDP would only allow you to use 2 at one meal, your max.
But OP came back and said they wanted to share 1 meal, 1 credit between two people. In that case they should be fine unless it is an AYCTE or "per person" type of meal. We often will share an entree but add appetizer and our drinks.
Right, but is there a way that the servers can tell if everyone is on the dining plan at the table, for the first scenario? Just curious, I dont ever use the dining plan.

Well they should ask you up front. Every meal we have they ask are you on DDP, AP or have any other discounts. When I tell them they say they'll scan for it at the end when finishing check.
So in first scenario they would scan and see 2 credits and therefore charge them for the other 2 meals.

At every table service restaurant the first question we were asked was if we were on the dining plan. Since our whole family was on the plan we never had to indicate exactly who. The servers conccern is how many rather than who is on the plan.
If only two diners are on the dining plan, even if the server tried scanning in all four meals, the dining plan would indicate that there would be fewer meals eligible to be deducted. Then the server would ask which two meals you want charged to the plan or perhaps suggest the two most expensive ones.
