Shaken, Not Stirred, With a Twist of Pixie Dust! A Food and Wine Trip!NEW! Pgs.75,76

We did have a nice Thanksgiving!! Thanks Jackie!! Yes, the game WAS a nail biter! I had to leave the room I was so nervous! Thankfully it ended well. It shouldn't have been that close! Yes, BAMA and Florida play on Saturday for the SEC championship! I hope we can put Florida in their place this year.
Go florida! They're going to crush BAMA!!!:goodvibespopcorn::

you are so creative and thoughtful! do you think this up?

I think my brother and my dad got all the creative genes in the family. I got none of that....:confused3

ahem.....it takes a creative genious to come up with the pictures you do. Not many people are inspired to rate bathrooms either.:rotfl2:

Hi Jackie! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Your little friends are just darling! I can't wait to hear about all the mischief they get into this holiday season! :wizard:

And keep us posted on that upcoming trip....Christmas time WOULD be lots of fun!! :goodvibes

I loved reading about Hayden and Ingrid! I can't wait to hear about their adventures this season. :)

Aro was on bonnie hunt today.....it made me think of you.:goodvibes

Thanks for the reminder about Prep and Landing. We'll be watching tomorrow.

Just read the DIS meet update - great picture! What a nice little meet. All you ladies look lovely in Epcot. :goodvibes

And I have to agree, you are a tease with your WDW plans for next year!! But, I understand - it's fun to keep the suspense until you announce your PTR. You are doing a PTR, RIGHT?! ;)

I'm excited to see Hayden and Ingrid back! Looking forward to the creative things they get into this year...

Looking forward to the big decision details. Do tell...Please! :flower3:

I'm worried about you, CP! I hope those little elves haven't tied you up with a bunch of Christmas ribbon keeping you from Dising!

LOL!!!!! I think the elves are definitely keeping her on her toes....running after elves can be exhausting work....well if they are anything like gnomes LOL!

Ooo...As a relative newbie I wasn't here to see what kind of mischief your elves got up to...can't wait to see what they do this year...:cool1:

Prep and Landing looks so cute...totally up David's alley...can't wait to watch it with him (with hot chocolate...:thumbsup2)

I need to catch up on the DIS. I've been busy with a convention, parent/teacher conferences, and report cards. I would LOVE to ban report cards. I HATE writing narratives.

Congrats on the PIN :goodvibes

We will have visiting elves in 2nd grade this year. Last year they were called Elvis and Evie, since I have an Evie in my class this year I'm going to have to call the girl elf something else....
They are coming the week prior to our break....
I can't wait to see what mischief you elves get into. I'm always looking for ideas!

I bet the kids absolutely adore Elvis and Evie! I know my two love their elves, and they are much older!

Your elves were very creative in their adventures last year. I can't wait to see what they've been cooking up this year!! :)

They have been up to their usual antics!

I've never heard of the elf tradition before. It sounds fun, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they get into!

This is our third year doing it -- the kids get a huge kick out of it.

I was a bit behind! All the seafood dishes sound sooooo good! I love seafood!

The elves are adorable! I was plaaning on watching that special on ABC on the 1st. It was perfect timing because we leave for Disney the next day and it was just right to get us in the mood! I had no idea they had changed it!!!! Now I have to think of something else to do!!!

All of the seafood we tried down there was beyond delicious!

I guess you are probably in Disney -- lucky, lucky, lucky!

Yay! I can't wait for more Hayden and Ingrid adventures. ;) That is such a cute tradition, I love it!

They have been having adventures -- that's for sure -- and they still have twenty more days of fun!

I am starting this tradition with Lexi this year. I keep seeing the commercials for Prep and Landing for the 1st and a repeat showing on the 8th. When did they change it?

Has your elf arrived? We are so excited about Prep and Landing!

I totally forgot that you do this, but I love those elves! How could I forget! I can't wait to see what they get into this year.

I am hoping to do an elf update tonight or tomorrow -- I have several nights' worth of pics.

We have become honorary Bama fans for tomorrow's game -- although I do like watching Tebow play.

What a cute update!! Can't wait to see what the elves have in store this year!!

Thanks! The elves have been busy. ;)

Okay, getting caught up! Have to go back to read, sorry I have been absent the past few days!! I want to catch up on all the chit chat!! :goodvibes Coming over to read now! :surfweb:

This week has been crazy for me, so I have been playing catch up myself.

Jackie: I can't wait to see what those two mischievious elfs get up to this year!

I have been snapping pics like a crazy woman. :thumbsup2

you are so creative and thoughtful! do you think this up?

I think my brother and my dad got all the creative genes in the family. I got none of that....:confused3

I can't take all the credit, but I will take some. :goodvibes

Whatever -- your photos show a distinctly creative side!

Very cute, your little elves!

Did ya watch the HGTV special???

Hope you enjoyed your week vacation!!!!

We did enjoy our vacation, but it flew by! Luckily the next break is only another 10 school days away.

Hi Jackie!! I'm so happy to see that Hayden & Ingrid are back. I bought an Elf on the Shelf for the boys this year, but before I brought him out, I told them we would be getting a visitor. I pulled up pictures of Hayden & Ingrid from you last PTR to give them an idea of what a Christmas elf could do. They were a bit worried at first - thinking our new friend might break their toys or use up all of their coloring paper. But I assured them our elf might not be as mischevious as yours since it's his first year and he'll be by himself for now. :rolleyes1

The boys named our elf Cocoa and he arrived yesterday. When they got up this morning, they discovered he had been playing Wii Sports all night. :rotfl:

That is so cute about Cocoa and the boys' concerns. What else has he done since he arrived, Amy?

Your elves are so cute! I am looking forward to watching Prep and Landing. I saw the stuffed elves from the show at the Disney store. They are adorable. :santa:

I keep looking at the Prep and Landing stuff at the Disney Store -- I am holding out until we see the show. ;)

CP, I guess you know you have Chelsea and Connor and a variety of women aged 20 to 50+ all excited about the return of the elves now, right?

:lmao: I think I heard Haddon and Ingrid whispering something about wanting a Facebook page of their very own. If they do, I will let you know. They are sure to do some entertaining posts. ;)

I am glad they're coming early! :cool1:

Chelsea and Connor are thrilled that they are here. Every morning they jump out of their beds to see what has happened in the night.

I also think they should prank Charles at least once this season. ;)

I think that is an excellent idea, MeMom! I suggested it to Haddon and Ingrid as I cleaned up their cracker crumbs this morning.

We did, too!! It was GREAT!!!!! :goodvibes

I missed it. :( Now I wish I had seen it. I wonder if they are repeating it at all or if I have to wait until next year.

Holy Moly Jackie I'm pages and pages behind LOL!!! First of all once again another lovely F&W update and I have to tell you I totally agree the DIS has fostered some of my greatest and most beloved friendships, I can't wait to meet up and again and cause mayhem and mischef!!!

I like your way of thinking -- mayhem and mischief is so fun!

So tomorrow is the big day right...or am I a week behind now LOL...quite possible LOL!! I hope we get to find out all the wonderful details and see that ticker in place LOL!! I have a few resort secrets up my sleeve for the October trip so I'm having fun with that right now LOL!!

I decided to wait for now. :(

AWWW...I wasn't around last Christmas but I cannot wait to see all the wonderful happenings that will occur now the elves have arrived!! All you DISers with your Christmas stuff out I guess that means I need to get in gear and start decorating my house too LOL!!!! I so can't wait for the new movie, I read about it in D23 and I'm so excited...I think I'm going to make cookies and try happydog's Eggnog that night LOL!!!!!!!

I want to make cookies this weekend so hopefully there will be some leftover for Prep and Landing. I better hide them from Haddon and Ingrid.

Okay Jackie, its back to the trenches for us today LOL...but thankfully only 3 more weeks until happy happy Christmas vacation time YAY!!!!

10 more school days, Jen!!!

Go florida! They're going to crush BAMA!!!:goodvibespopcorn::

Now, now. Let's not be too hasty.

ahem.....it takes a creative genious to come up with the pictures you do. Not many people are inspired to rate bathrooms either.:rotfl2:

I agree, Cherie!!! ::yes::

Hi Jackie! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

And keep us posted on that upcoming trip....Christmas time WOULD be lots of fun!! :goodvibes

Hi, Katie! We had a great Thanksgiving, but the week flew by! Haddon and Ingrid are providing lots of stories for the DIS. I think Christmastime would be a blast at Disney, but I don't like the cold at all. I am such a summer person, and obviously, a very wishy-washy person when it comes to settling on trip specifics.

I loved reading about Hayden and Ingrid! I can't wait to hear about their adventures this season. :)

Haddon and Ingird provide lots of fun around here, that's for sure.

Aro was on bonnie hunt today.....it made me think of you.:goodvibes

Aro -- mmmmm....

Thanks for the reminder about Prep and Landing. We'll be watching tomorrow.

Did they show it on the first in Canada? We have to wait until the 8th now.

Just read the DIS meet update - great picture! What a nice little meet. All you ladies look lovely in Epcot. :goodvibes

Thanks, Brook! It was so fun meeting everyone!

And I have to agree, you are a tease with your WDW plans for next year!! But, I understand - it's fun to keep the suspense until you announce your PTR. You are doing a PTR, RIGHT?! ;)

And now I am going to keep everyone in suspense for a little longer. :flower3:

I'm excited to see Hayden and Ingrid back! Looking forward to the creative things they get into this year...

I can't wait to share their antics with everyone!

Looking forward to the big decision details. Do tell...Please! :flower3:

No decisions yet -- I am forcing myself to wait until after the holidays.

I'm worried about you, CP! I hope those little elves haven't tied you up with a bunch of Christmas ribbon keeping you from Dising!

:lmao: I wish it had been that -- it was school keeping me tied up in bunches. I cannot wait until Christmas break -- it's been very crazy lately!

LOL!!!!! I think the elves are definitely keeping her on her toes....running after elves can be exhausting work....well if they are anything like gnomes LOL!

They are exhausting. Sometimes the pitter patter of their little feet racing through the house in the dead of night keeps me awake. :lmao:

Ooo...As a relative newbie I wasn't here to see what kind of mischief your elves got up to...can't wait to see what they do this year...:cool1:

Mischief is an understatement some nights. ;)

Prep and Landing looks so cute...totally up David's alley...can't wait to watch it with him (with hot chocolate...:thumbsup2)

Hot chocolate will be a must for us while we watch. I always buy a can of whipped cream to top off our cocoa this time of year (and a generous sprinkling of red sugar.)

I need to catch up on the DIS. I've been busy with a convention, parent/teacher conferences, and report cards. I would LOVE to ban report cards. I HATE writing narratives.

Congrats on the PIN :goodvibes

Hi, Jen! School has been crazy for me, too! I would like to ban many things including standardized testing and morning duty.

So, I got an email from Disney today about Disney gift cards as holiday gifts. Well, I couldn't help myself, I clicked on it...just to see if by any chance they had any Christmas designs.

HELLO, EIGHT PAGES OF DESIGNS!!!

Can you believe it? I want one of each, I think.

Have fun browsing through all of them!

DISNEY GIFT CARDS IN 32 DIFFERENT DESIGNS!

Very cool! I guess since they are getting rid of Disney Dollars (except in Disney World, pretty much), this will help spark interest in the cards and make them more fun. I will take one of each, also. Or just one of any of them! That's one of the best presents in the world right there!

I've been concerned for your well being this week. I decided last night if I didn't see some elf action around here soon, I'd be calling your neighborhood Gladys Kravitz (remember from Bewitched?) to come and check on you.

You hurt my ears when you say testing. We've just finished Week One of Round Two of Running Records and DIBELS. Busy work for the masses while we test one-on-one.

Keeping second-graders in their seats and occupied for endless hours is such fun.
'He's throwing crayons.'
'Her elbow is on my paper.'
'He snotted on me.'
'She's copying.' Usually the concern of one of the lowest students in the class, who I can assure you no one is copying from!!!

Oh yeah, very fun stuff.

Week Two is coming up. Then we can get in a little instruction for the few wild days just before the holidays. You know how little it will be, too, the partial week before Christmas break.
Yeah, those people who insist on all this testing really know what they're doing.
It is helping sooo much!

NOT.

Maybe I should get some real elves to come and monitor kids while I am testing.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing what H & I have been up to this week. Hope your house is not in too much disarray because of them!

Thanks for the info on the gift cards Jackie! We haven't figured out how/when we'll tell the kids, but gift cards for their spending money could be part of that! :thumbsup2

Love all of the gift card designs!

Aren't they cool? They even have villain designs!

Yes, they are! I would like to make sure mine come loaded with lots of money for Disney fun! ;)

It's really not much different at the middle school level. The kids are just bigger, but they still say the same things.

Update coming soon!

I think some of those Christmas ones may find their way into stockings at our house.
