Thanks marylandteachergirl. Just an FYI for anyone with an old bookmarked link to SoG. For a long time, I had a link to the site with slash home dot html. This takes me to the SoG home page. When clicking on the Special Offers tab, the recent offers are not listed. I learned about the offers from a military disney tips site. What I just now learned is that with an address just ending in dot org, a list of all the promotions is displayed upon opening. The mystery was solved LOL.

For any of you who have recently booked, or are planning to book SOG for next year - there are 30% off room rates (for MOST dates) from Oct. 2016 through Jan. 2017. We are doing a split stay - part Poly, part SOG, and I was able to call this morning and save 30% by modifying my previously booked room rates. Just a heads up. All info is on the SOG website.

Now there is a new promo that spans all of my dates, but when I try to get a quote - it's not giving me rooms with those discounts... Any ideas as to why this may be? I guess - the part I don't get - is that the special indicates "beginning at $95" - but when I load it - the cheapest I see is $100... So, I am wondering if it's not loading the specials for me?

We booked last year with the "Harvest Special". I had to call to get the discount. The rep I spoke to said that the reservations under that special had to be made over the phone. Perhaps the special offer that you are looking at has the same requirement.
Edited to add that we are using the Harvest Special again this year & I was able to book online. However, the offer included free breakfast last year & this year it doesn't.

We've stayed at SoG before but never used the pools bc it was too cold. Are there changing rooms? Showers? We have a late flight this trip and would like to swim after checking out.

I booked our October trip yesterday. Spooky Savings in October Special is available on standard rooms only on a first come first serve basis, starting at 30% off. Valid from October 12th - 18th & October 30th - November 2nd, 2016. Discount will be taken from applicable room rate. Subject to availability of discounted rate. Only part of my stay is at the discounted rate so I called in the reservations.

So glad I read through this thread. I'm calling tomorrow morning to see if I can still get this deal!

There are showers in the golf course "clubhouse" which is ground floor, basically underneath where the ticket office is. If you go to post#2514 which is a map that DMGuertz posted, it is where the "M" is on the map. You have to enter from the outside. Found these bathrooms last time we were there in December;only because we were playing golf.

Soooo... With the new tiered tickets... Has anyone heard if there are any changes to the Military Salute tickets? I assume they will remain the same until the current end date?

I would guess the Salute tickets will remain the same for the year until the end of the offer in December. I'd guess the Stars and Stripes tickets will increase.

I haven't heard any news, but I would expect changes to appear when/if there is a new military promotion offered. The present offer does not expire until December 2016. I am pretty sure there will be a price increase, but it will be interesting to see how the tiered tickets will impact the military promotion.

Yes, you should be good with tickets! I decided to buy discounted MYW tickets for our May (still hoping) trip. We are going for longer than 4 days, so it was cheaper to by the MYW with military discount than two Salute tickets each. I literally paid for them on Saturday! Squeaked in under the wire on the price increase!!!

I have a friend staying in SOG in April and I am trying to help her with some of the planning details. One question that has recently come up is about FP+. I know that she can make her ride reservations 30 days out but I'm unsure if she can make FP+ reservations for her entire trip at 30 days out or if she needs to make them one day at a time as each travel date hits the 30 day mark. What should I tell her?

It's really not that bad... There are only a few rides that a person needs FPs for that *really require a person to be up early.... SDMT and the Anna and Elsa meet n' greet... So - really on the days she is planning to do that -I'd be up early and prompt about it. The rest could probably wait until she has her morning coffee.
