I agree that this movie does not look appealing at all. I absolutely loved the book (both as a kid and in reading it to my own kids) and don't think the movie will retain its whimsy. It's going to be another pull-out-all-the-stops special effects fest. I guess that appeals to many, but not me. I prefer the slower, simpler telling of tales.
And on the original topic, I think its become a trend that kids' movies include minor sexual innuendo. While most of it goes right over the kids heads I often wonder why the filmmakers find it necessary to include it at all.
I'm guessing this one will be very much like the Grinch of a few years back. I found that movie heartless and overdone. We'll just save our $$$ this time around.
