I've noticed on one of the commercials that the cat picks up a photograph of the mom and turns it sideway so that it unfolds like a centerfold, then his hat seems to rise.

Am I the only one who finds this distasteful?

I don't think I've seen that one but the one's I have seen don't make the movie look very appealing. I guess I'm just getting old;) . I don't know why a delightful children's book needed to be turned into a movie especially one that doesn't look as if it does it justice.

I don't know maybe a little humor for the adults in an otherwise children's movie. I've seen it in a lot of films, it doesn't bother me.

I agree that this movie does not look appealing at all. I absolutely loved the book (both as a kid and in reading it to my own kids) and don't think the movie will retain its whimsy. It's going to be another pull-out-all-the-stops special effects fest. I guess that appeals to many, but not me. I prefer the slower, simpler telling of tales.

And on the original topic, I think its become a trend that kids' movies include minor sexual innuendo. While most of it goes right over the kids heads I often wonder why the filmmakers find it necessary to include it at all.

I'm guessing this one will be very much like the Grinch of a few years back. I found that movie heartless and overdone. We'll just save our $$$ this time around.

Some previews make the movie look better than other previews for it have. I've seen one in particular that made my parents and me decide we'd see it. :) Kids won't understand the hat thing, so it shouldn't be worth worrying over, IMO :)

BTW - I actually really liked Grinch...it was cute! :)
