~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

Morning D!
I wasn't as far behind as i thought i would be!!!
I bet everyone was flocking to the mall for the PEEP STORE!!! coolest store EVER!!!

YES YES YES i love that part of the mall!!! great picture too!

LOVE the picture of you and and the girls.. You look fantastic!!!

a BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALLISON!!! :bday: party: :yay: :cheer2:

Hope Easter was PERFECT! the pictures look like you guys had a blast! I cannot WAIT to see what you have cooking up in the magic sewing room of yours!

V is SO TALENTED! the blanket is BEAUTIFUL!!!

Have a happy Easter.

Thank you Lisa - I hope you had a wonderful Easter too!

Nice picture of you and the girls. And no snow in the garden. Here we still have some snow on the ground.

Tomorrow I have to bake 2 cakes because I'm celebrating my birthday with my family since everyone has the day off and my parents and brother has come home from their Easter Holiday. My birthday was earlier this month but then my parents and brother already had left for their Easter holiday so I decided to celebrate it now when they are home again.

Thanks Lillian... Yes - our snow is nearly gone! Which surprises me, we had a LOT of snow this year!

Happy Belated Birthday!!! I hope you had a great one! Sorry I missed sending out wishes - I am VERY bad about birthdays. I hope you enjoy your cake!

I think you made a great decision. It is certainly much easier to switch to a deluxe later. Maybe the one you want might not be available, but there are so many deluxe options. If you decide to change later it is much easier going up to deluxe. Plus.....then I'll have first hand knowledge on the GF "snooty" feel . I'll take lots of pictures and videos for you! Plus, I can check out what is going on at the Poly. It might not be as bad as we think.....

Hope you had a great Easter with your Dad.....loving the FB pics

Yes, I think so too - I feel so much better about it now. And I cannot wait to hear your review! I am certain it's a beautiful resort and I have nothing to worry about if we end up staying there.

I hope you had a wonderful Easter too. :lovestruc

Hi D~! Hope you had a great time with your Dad! Thanks for the photo of your maxi dress. I love it and it looks fabulous on your new 2014 bod!! And those red sandals are such a fun addition.

Hahaha... Thanks Lois! We did have a wonderful day with my Dad - I'll be posting lots O' pics below. :thumbsup2

I don't know how I missed your free dining When and how did that happen? I'm guessing a pin? Anyway, I also think it's smart to keep the FQ reservation. For all the reasons you outlined. As for GF, I'm like Nini, I've always wanted to stay there because of the Victorian feel of it. We've eaten there several times and have not found the atmosphere overly pretentious. And I'm with Jennifer and others who say who cares what others think. Besides, they'll be so busy oohing and ahhing over your bags, they won't even notice what you're wearing.

Actually - I had the foresight to book a bounceback while we were there last year. :thumbsup2 So, I've been hoarding this FD Pixie Dust for a while now. :wizard: The problem is, since BFF wasn't with me last year, I couldn't book a room for her. Sadly.

LOL... Are you saying I can go to the parks nekkid and no one will notice as long as I am carrying one of my bags? ROFL...

I do think when you have to make that final decision about where you stay, it should be based on what is best for you and the girls, and not BFF. Sounds harsh, but Mo is right: you've worked so hard to make this trip happen and you deserve the vacation you want. I am also one who needs down time when other families are involved. The complete truth is, you cannot do what's right for everyone usually. I'm like you, though, I always TRY!

I know - I just try to hard to accomodate everyone all the time... Sometimes this is a good thing, and sometimes it's a bad thing, and sometimes it bites me in the a$$. :rolleyes1

The trip to the mall sounds like fun. And so smart to get the rush on the crowd. I was sorry to hear about Gus, but from what you didn't say, I guess it's a good thing.

Yes, I have always approached the MOA with "Rope Drop" mentality. It works well. :thumbsup2 For that matter - I do that with any theme park or public event we do... Get there early - get it done.

Ahhh... Gus... I just don't know what to do with that boy? He texted her last night, told her he missed her...  :confused3 :headache:

Tell V her baby blanket looks awesome! That takes a lot of dedication to stick to it. She seems very talented in the craft/arts realm! I hope she continues to enjoy it.

Thank you, I will - she is so proud of it! As she should be. :wizard:

I know you'll get a lot of work done in your sewing room this week. You a procrastinator?? I don't see that. If you look up procrastinator in the dictionary, you'll find my photo! Have a great day, whatever you end up doing!

Hahaha... I am a HORRIBLE procrastinator... At all hours of the day, I have to bribe myself with food - seriously - I don't allow myself to eat (ever) unless I reach certain points in my work progress, otherwise NOTHING would ever get done. popcorn::

Morning D!

Good morning Mo!!! I hope you had a wonderful Easter, as well. I loved seeing the Midget pictures on FB!

Hahaha... Peep store... Crap... I was looking all over Target this year for "Peepsters" - I'd forgotten about that store, I could have gotten them there! Next year!

Thank you... I am still a work in progress - but I am getting there, slowly but surely.

I hope to finish my first auction bag today and start on my next one this afternoon... Let's hope the sewing Gods are with me today... Gotta get up there first though... Running late today.

Love you Mo... What are we at now??? 36 days???

**********************************************************

We had an amazing day yesterday... It was the perfect Easter day. The weather was magnificant - it was just beautiful!

I wanted to share a few pictures from our day yesterday...

Josh and I... Swoon... (I am wearing one of the skirts I made...)

20140420_090944-1.jpg

Then Alli and MM on the way to Grandpa's... Grandpa was so EXCITED to see MM - it was a last minute decision to take him with us, and I am glad we did.

20140420_101135.jpg

After dinner, we went for a walk around one of the trails behind my Dad's building... The girls took my brother - who was on a mission... and my Dad kept pace... It was just a sweet picture that they didn't know I was taking. :lovestruc

20140420_124648.jpg

It was just a wonderful, wonderful day.

And then today...

It's Allison's Sweet 16 Birthday!

I cannot believe my sweet, sweet girl is 16...

I posted a HUGE (110 photos) album on Facebook this morning... And here's a copy of the message I wrote for it... I really am so very lucky to have amazing girls! And a day NEVER goes by with out me telling them that.

Sixteen years ago today, I never could have imagined this one little person would change my life in so many ways. Watching her grow and seeing her become the person she is, has made so proud to be her mom. Through out the years she has made me change and made me see the world through her eyes, her happiness and energy for life and living life with passion is something unique only to her. Allison has the ability to see goodness in people that sometimes others don't see, and to make those around her want to be a better person. Allison, your genuine love of life, your creativity, your passion for learning, and your honest character is something to be admired by anyone who knows you - I am so VERY proud of you every single day. I love you more than words can ever say - I hope you have the happiest of Sweet 16 birthdays and never forget to follow your dreams. Love, Mom

So, I hope all of you have an amazing day! Sending out prayers and pixie dust on this beautiful sunny spring day! :grouphug:

D~

Glad you guys had a nice Easter! Loved the maxi dress and the skirt. I must find time to try out some sewing! Our girls had a great Easter, although the Easter bunny over did it a bit this year ::yes::

I'm glad you have a plan for now - I hope your auctions go super well so you guys will be able to stay at POFQ. Whoever had the idea about adding Olivia to your reservation to take advantage of your free dining is a genius! I hope your travel agent can make that happen! Maybe BFF will split the money you are saving her with you!

Hope Alli has an amazing 16th birthday today!

I am starting Weight Watchers today. I did it last year with some friends and lost some weight but I believe I've put it all back on plus some. My work pays for it as long as you attend 3 out of 4 meetings a month, and we have meetings on site so I figured I should take advantage of it. I'm also planning on getting a run in this afternoon. DH said he is trying to get back to his newlywed weight. It's going to take a lot for me to make it back to that - first goal is to stop gaining, then get to pre-Charlotte weight, then pre-Peyton weight. Then I'm going to stop and re-evaluate. Newlywed weight would be nice but I was 20 when I got married and I'm just not sure it's realistic for me to get back to that. We'll see. At least I'm taking steps and moving in the right direction for a change. I'll keep you posted on my progress just because I need some accountability :goodvibes

I saw the pictures of Alli and MM in the car and all I could wonder was: have they left V somewhere? It was good to see her there with your dad.

Happy Birthday to Alli, BTW.

I am a terrible person sometimes (button pusher and all) and I have finally found a motivation for loosing weight/ getting in shape. My 'little sister' best friend has lost a full dress size since January & I have to be in a smaller size. Petty, I know, but hey - it's motivation. So much so I did my 8 Minutes in the Morning today and took a short walk at lunch. Seriously though, I also asked my DR about B12 deficiency due to my acid reflux meds & am waiting those results.

I also actually worked on a sewing project this weekend! I'm making a friend's daughter a doll and I finally built the dern thing and wigged it yesterday. Now comes the fun part: Clothing!!

Now, back to work for me.

Peace, Prayers and Happiness to all.

I think you look great in both outfits! I'm glad you had such a wonderful Easter with family. We did, too. :)

Happy birthday to Allison! Your sweet message made me tear up. My DD will be 3 in just over a month and I know it will fly by.

D, sorry I missed a few things (Mark's surgery, the kids in town for the weekend, etc.).

I'm glad you are holding off on changing resorts for the time being as I know how much you love POFQ.

However, have you considered "renting points" at one of the DVC's? You might look at the numbers and see where you come out with having to "buy" the dining plan but renting points. We don't use the dining plan anymore because I have a TIW card, but we have found it cheaper staying DVC than paying rack price for the resort.

I posted it on FB, but will post again here...HAPPY 16th ALLI!

Happy Birthday Alli :D

Sounds like you had a nice time at your dads.

I baked two cakes for this evening. I spent all day in the kitchen. When looking at what's left of the two cakes. Everyone liked one of the cakes better than the other :confused3

Good Morning D!!!

Those cute red sandals and your AWESOME skirt got me out of 'lurkdom' again!! You and your hubby look super cute in your Easter photo. :thumbsup2

Happy 16th to your daughter! My daughter just turned 17 last month and it really is so amazing to see these little girls evolve into such confident young women with so many talents and opportunities. Well done Mom (and Dad too)!

Loved the Epcot bag too- great idea and that design definitely looked intricate with all those curves and sections! Well done!

Have a great rest of your week!

Liz (lucky #18) ;)

Hi D~! I saw the photos and touching birthday greeting to Allison today, so very sweet. My oldest son's birthday is today as well! What a great day to celebrate! :)

You look awesome! I love that skirt that you made.

Glad that you had a nice visit with your dad. I'm sure he was feeling very blessed to spend time with you and the family.

We went and visited my parent's for Easter and really enjoyed being away. Baby Jeffrey did great for his first 6+ hour car ride. Hope he continues to do this well when we do the 2 day drive to WDW in just under 2 months!!!! :scared1:

Glad your family had such a fun filled weekend!! Happy Birthday Allison!!

LOVED seeing the pictures (all 110) of them!!! really cute to see her 'grow up'

Did you get the cake that was on the menu at olive garden??? :lmao:

Hope she had a wonderful birthday!

Glad you guys had a nice Easter! Loved the maxi dress and the skirt. I must find time to try out some sewing! Our girls had a great Easter, although the Easter bunny over did it a bit this year

Thanks Jennifer! Yes, you must - it's so much fun!

I'm glad you have a plan for now - I hope your auctions go super well so you guys will be able to stay at POFQ. THanks - me too - LOL. I agree - Lois' idea is fantastic, I have my TA working on it.

Hope Alli has an amazing 16th birthday today!

Thank you - I think she did. :thumbsup2

That's awesome that your work pays for WW - what a great incentive! I am very gald that you have some short term goals as well as some vague long term goals... I believe that's important. When I first started out - I just wanted to see some healthy progress, I had so far to go that I knew it would take me so long to get to where I really wanted to be. Now, I am almost where I was when I met Josh, and very close to my smallest adult weight... So, I've been re-evaluating my goals, as I don't feel like I am done yet.

All I ask, with WW is that you are careful - I get the feeling that sometimes WW is so focused on "Points" and not necessarily nutrition - so I encourage you to eat as many REAL foods as you can and avoid the boxed ones. :thumbsup2

I saw the pictures of Alli and MM in the car and all I could wonder was: have they left V somewhere? It was good to see her there with your dad.

Hahaha... No... She is such a turd lately... She REFUSES to have her picture taken - so she put her head on her lap for that one. :confused3 She was there, and in that seat - I assure you.

Happy Birthday to Alli, BTW.

Thank you!

I am a terrible person sometimes (button pusher and all) and I have finally found a motivation for loosing weight/ getting in shape. Awesome! Good for you Ruth! You can do this. Sometimes it's a little event like that, which catapults us into a life of healthy living. :thumbsup2

I also actually worked on a sewing project this weekend! I'm making a friend's daughter a doll and I finally built the dern thing and wigged it yesterday. Now comes the fun part: Clothing!!

Awesome! I hope you'll share pictures with us!

Now, back to work for me.

Peace, Prayers and Happiness to all.

Thank you - the same to you!

I think you look great in both outfits! I'm glad you had such a wonderful Easter with family. We did, too.

Thank you Abby!

Happy birthday to Allison! Your sweet message made me tear up. My DD will be 3 in just over a month and I know it will fly by.

Thank you... Yes - I had a few tears yesterday, as well. It breaks my heart to feel like it's "almost over" - yet, to be so very proud of the person she is and the person she dreams of being. As a parent - I couldn't be more lucky!

D, sorry I missed a few things (Mark's surgery, the kids in town for the weekend, etc.).

Oh Kathy - no worries at all. I've been following you and Mark on FB, and just glad his surgery went well and you were able to spend time with the kids for Easter. :lovestruc

I'm glad you are holding off on changing resorts for the time being as I know how much you love POFQ.

Yes... I just keep thinking of it, and how much we love it there - it's "home" to us... So, I am going to do my very best to make it happen. :thumbsup2

However, have you considered "renting points" at one of the DVC's? You might look at the numbers and see where you come out with having to "buy" the dining plan but renting points. We don't use the dining plan anymore because I have a TIW card, but we have found it cheaper staying DVC than paying rack price for the resort.

I have not, and only because we are booked with Free Dining - so I can't imagine that it would be cheaper? I could be wrong, I just assumed.

I posted it on FB, but will post again here...HAPPY 16th ALLI!

Thank you!

Happy Birthday Alli

Thank you Lillian!

Sounds like you had a nice time at your dads.

Thank you - we did! :cloud9:

I baked two cakes for this evening. I spent all day in the kitchen. When looking at what's left of the two cakes. Everyone liked one of the cakes better than the other

Oooh - those look absolutely devine!!! Beautiful cakes Lillian!!! I hope you enjoyed them too! And Happy belated Birthday!

Good Morning D!!!

Those cute red sandals and your AWESOME skirt got me out of 'lurkdom' again!! You and your hubby look super cute in your Easter photo.

Thank you - it was so much fun to be able to wear them! I feel like I was standing so awkward in that photo - oh well. :confused3

Happy 16th to your daughter! My daughter just turned 17 last month and it really is so amazing to see these little girls evolve into such confident young women with so many talents and opportunities. Well done Mom (and Dad too)!

Thank you! It is so hard, yet such a pride filled thing... As a parent - the hardest part, I am finding - is learning to let her make her own mistakes/letting go. I am having the worst time with that!

Loved the Epcot bag too- great idea and that design definitely looked intricate with all those curves and sections! Well done!

Thank you! Yes, I need to post it here - I forgot to do that yesterday.

Have a great rest of your week!

Liz (lucky #18)

THank you Liz... And LOL - I am glad you wrote that at the bottom... Sometimes it get pretty confusing to me, as to who I am talking to. Especially this early in the morning.

Hi D~! I saw the photos and touching birthday greeting to Allison today, so very sweet. My oldest son's birthday is today as well! What a great day to celebrate!

Hi Brenda!!! Thank you - I hope your son had a happy birthday, as well. It's a great day for a Birthday, isn't it?

You look awesome! I love that skirt that you made.

Thank you! Still a long ways to go, but I am making progress - so that makes me happy!

Glad that you had a nice visit with your dad. I'm sure he was feeling very blessed to spend time with you and the family.

THank you - it was a very nice visit!

We went and visited my parent's for Easter and really enjoyed being away. Baby Jeffrey did great for his first 6+ hour car ride. Hope he continues to do this well when we do the 2 day drive to WDW in just under 2 months!!!!

Glad your family had such a fun filled weekend!! Happy Birthday Allison!!

Glad little Jeffrey did so well on his long car ride... I agree - I hope he does that well when you drive to Disney! :beach:

And thank you - I think she had a great day!

**********************************************************

Yesterday was chaotic, at best.

I was having computer issues in the morning, so I was running late.

I did my lifting yesterday... As some of you may remember, I backed off of the weight on my bar several weeks ago, in an attempt to work on my range of motion... I am happy to report that I am back up to squatting 65lbs (5 reps of 5)... Now, my next challenge, is to be able to clean and press 75lbs over my head, so I can put the bar on my shoulders to squat - that's what's keeping me from going up now. I wish I could afford/had the space to put a squat rack in my house, then all of this would not matter. Oh well. I figure I will just do the best I can. Squatting 65lbs is better than not squatting anything at all. :thumbsup2

I also finished my first auction bag yesterday. I am very happy with it! I have a smaller one cut out and quilted, I just have to figure out what I plan to put on it - I have an idea - not sure if it will work or not?

Since it was Alli's birthday - she chose to go to Olive Garden for dinner ... BFF and O met us there. I had planned to get a picture of the whole table - but I'd forgotten. Shame on me!

Josh also stopped after work and picked up one of her most requested gifts... She wanted a fish. So, he got her a little bowl, with a Sponge Bob thingy for inside, and a betta - which she named "Finnley" LOL. :thumbsup2

Afterwards, we came home, had cake and went to bed... Pretty uneventful. The only thing that makes me feel better is that we are taking them to Disney to celebrate their birthdays - I am of the mind that the "Sweet 16" should be a big deal. :thumbsup2

Today, I work at Target... Sigh. I would much rather be here working on my auction bags... Oh well. I might try and get up there for a little while this morning.

Sending out prayers and good thoughts to all, have a marvelous day everyone! :grouphug:

D~

This was such a cool bag to make and work with - I am very happy with how it turned out. Despite the fact that the applique looks a litlte easy - it really isn't, with all the little cut outs and stitching... It took me a long time to do. But it turned out great and I am really happy with it. :thumbsup2

I STILL have problems when I look at your applique! So hard to believe you do that on a regular sewing machine. I KNOW how hard that is and how much talent that takes!

Beautiful as always!

Nini

THIS IS AMAZING! I adore the classic looks!!!

Glad A had a great birthday and got a fish... I am surprised it isn't named from Nemo?!?!

Happy Sweet 16 to Alli!!! My son's is in January. I don't know where the time is going!! LOVE the EPCOT bag. It's so retro and cool!! Trust me,,,there is nothing that looks easy about your bags!! I can barely sew a straight line much less work all the magic that you do on a daily basis!! Simply amazing! Have a great day at Target!

Wow!!! That is so intricate and neat. What a cool bag.

You've inspired me to try to applique again--just a simple Minnie silhouette and bow, though. :)

Love the Epcot bag! I think I should start reading your report at home in the evenings instead of at work in the morning - all your creativity inspires me, but by the time I get home it's all about homework, dinner, baths, and bedtime. It would be nice to get inspired and actually be able to do something with that inspiration right away.

I know Weight Watchers isn't ideal - it definitely focuses on just watching calories/points and it's easy to use your points on processed and not so great food. I'm not quite at the point of being ready to go with just REAL food - I still like a little bit of junk and sometimes the processed stuff is easier - however WW does cause me to focus a lot more on fruits and vegetables which is a step in the right direction. We'll see how it goes. I got my days wrong, so my first meeting is actually today. I did get my run in yesterday so that is moving in the right direction too.

Congrats on getting your first auction bag done! It must be great to be making progress on such a big project.

Hope Target goes well today.

Glad Alli had a good birthday.

Thanks for the birthday wishes :)

What a nice princess hat Alli had on her birthday.

Once again a great bag from you D~ I can't wait to see all the auction bags.
