And yes, I really am up this early, actually been up and going since 5:30 AM. My DH got home last night However, he was off again early this morning for a meeting.

Hello Jamborinis and Kidanites! Just back from my weekend at the world. No time at AKL, but we had a fab trip! And have a tentative booking at the Lodge for December!

My mother and I decided to do the Expedition Everest Challenge next year. Combined that with the fact that my mom LOVES AKL and has always wanted to stay there, AKL seems like that's the way to go.

However, it does have to be a bit of a budget trip - I am getting married this September, so all resources all currently going towards that, and I also already committed to the Expo next August out at DLR.

So, in order for us to stay at AKL, we will need to do one of the following 1)book a value studio now by renting points - but must come up with payment in full; 2) wait to book a regular room and hope they have a 30 or 40% discount code; or 3) wait and attempt to rent points at a later date, realizing all value suites may be gone and we may need to pay more.

If that doesn't pan out, we'll most likely stay at a mod- probably PORS, as I stayed at POFQ last trip and liked it.

Any tips you have on possibly booking AKL at a discount would be appreciated - and yes, I am subscribing to the discounts and codes thread as well

Well I have a small update for everyone in our never-ending book/cancel/book/cancel escapades. We've decided to rebook the trip where we are taking Arline to WDW for late January early February next year. After reading some live TRs about how awful and hot the weather was in Florida the weekend we were supposed to be there, coupled with the fact that I am really really really really really hoping that the DCA Food and Wine Festival comes back next year; we want to be in town from April until June so that I have the option of being a crazy person who arrives at park opening and sits and waits for Robert Irvine and any other Celebrity Chef I want to see!

The other thing is that since my points went into holding by canceling the day before, I wouldn't mind saving a bit and going in the economical points season. The other thing is that we were only going to spend three nights at Kidani this past trip, and I've decided that I am going to sneak it into four nights. We wouldn't have been able to do everything we wanted to do.

I'm just going to wait until my 7 month window to book the trip because I don't want to futz with booking at BCV, VWL and SSR for five weeks and then changing. We'll book the airfare later, so no biggie. I'm just happy that we have a plan in place. I just hope our streak of canceling trips changes. If you really think about this, with the two previous Arline trips we had to cancel, this has been four trips now in a three year period. I just wasn't on the DIS at that time to complain about it!

We are doing fine, Miss Wendy. Bob has been doing some consulting for his old company so he is not as bored as he had become. I will have 17 days off between this year's classes and our summer session. Yes, I counted them
