I try and catch these follow ups, I love them, and get mad when I miss them. Hope this helps someone else who likes to hear the follow up stories on the septuplets.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 19
10:00 P.M. ET - McCaughey septuplets turn five
In an NBC News exclusive, Ann Curry sits down with the McCaughey septuplets on their fifth birthday. For the first time, viewers will hear from the septuplets in their own words as Curry talks to each of them, as well as big sister Mikayla, one-on-one.

LOL! That should be a cute interview.:) Their parents came to Chattanooga not too long ago for a dinner of some sort. I didn't go, and I haven't heard anything about how it went.

I can't believe they're going to be 5. Where does the time go? I keep missing these shows, I really have to try and see this one.

I love watching the annual show. For me it's a guilty kind of thrill, like watching a train wreck.

Eeek! I just adore the septuplets! Every year my sister and I fight over who gets to read the Ladies Home Journal with their story in it first.. I've always somehow missed the Dateline thing, but now I've got the TiVo set and everything. Thanks for reminding us! :teeth: Multiple births just fascinate me, especially such high-order multiples as the McCaugheys.

ME TOO! ME TOO!

I Love to Follow them as they are growing up --- but FIVE YEARS already! GEEZ!!!!!!!!

Remember the Dilley Septuplets? I almost choked when I found out they turned ... 10!!!

I have always enjoyed watching and reading about them since my dd was born just a couple of months before them.It is always nice to compare notes!!!

I just love them!!! What a testimony to their faith they are!!! Whenever I saw them on TV and magazines I tried to imagine what it must be like in their household! Thanks for letting us know about the show!

TC:cool:

I too enjoy reading about them. They sound like such a great family.

It's coming on soon! I really enjoy watching their documentary every year! :)

My niece and nephews (triplets) were born about the same time. Thank goodness they're 5!! I used to help take care of them when they were babies. Now my sisters are much more generous with their time to watch them while my brother & his wife take a weekend break.
Does anyone remember why she took fertility drugs, considering they had a one-year old chld and the mom isn't very old? (not to be seen as a debate-starter, I just don't know why she took fertility drugs.)

The Mom was on fertility drugs with the 1st pg. also.

How did you guys like the show? I really enjoyed it. Although seeing the 2 kids struggle with cerebal palsy really broke my heart. Especially the little boy upset about his shots. :( But WOW, fun to see how they have grown. And I want to have more detail on groceries for 1 month of $300! Granted growing her own food helped! WHat an amazing family!

Yes, growing her own food helps, but I thought the figure was $500 a month.

I can do about $200 a month for a family of four without a garden. , so a family of ten that is good.

I always feel bad for the older daughter, she will always always be in the shadow of her younger sisters/brothers her entire life.

It's hard to believe feeding 10 people on such a budget. The Ladies Home Journal stated $250/month - unbelievable. I was glad to hear that most of the kids are venturing outside the home for at least part of the day. I feel it will help their individuality. Great show, they are just a bit younger than my DD so it's easy to keep up with their age for me. Cute kds.

She food shops like I do.. They showed the kids eating box mac and cheese and fruit for lunch... Box mac and cheese is 25 cents a box.. she says she cooks two -three boxes, and three cans of fruit... and lunch for eight kids....

Now if I had room to garden and stuff my grocery budget would go down..

Remember, they have so many donations, that they probably never had to pay for diapers, formula, etc... plus remember they got a $10,000 in grocery money as well. I admired how she said she stretched that for five years.. I did some math myself, and I would have been able to stretch that for about the same amount of time, with NO FREE FORMULA/DIAPERS.

It is entirely possible to food shop that low. Personally my bill last week was $21.00 for a family of four. It can be done!
