this Next Shuttle Launch being delayed so my kids can see it when we're there?
We have already scheduled August 18th to go to Kennedy Space Center. My DW just found that this mission is going up before we get there

From what it says at STS-105 , it looks like it will at least land there while we are at WDW.
Somehow I do not see a landing to be as good as a takeoff in a child's mind.
What luck. Friday the 13th strikes again.

Can launches be delayed for a week or so? I know about the weather affecting them but what about the launch windows for a shuttle mission going to the space station? Is there such a window?

If the station is in geo-synchronous orbit, then there probably is not a launch window.

If not, then there probably is a window. Last time I checked, I wasn't an aerospace engineer though.

You might want to post over on the CB. I know I've seen shuttle launch threads there before. Might get more of an audience over there. You've been over here enough to know that "normal" people don't come over here much unless they really need some help.
