Hi John! It was great to see you again and to meet your family. Say "hi" to everyone for me.

Paul2003, you get to cruise with grumpy-gramps!   gg is the official "maker of the door signs" that you were asking me about. He just might make one for you!:thumbsup2 I'm wishing I was going on this cruise. I LOVE the Double Dip!

Hi Everyone!

Just checking in for the 1st time. My DH and I also came down with the snuffles/sore throat. I find that amazing because of all the hand washing that was going on.

We witnessed the jet-ski accident as we were on shore waiting for our banana boat ride. A woman veered off quickly to avoid missing some rocks and she fell off of her jetski. She hurt her nose but was able to get on and off the rescue boat on her own. I will say the lifeguards and rescuers got to her immediately. Two Disney Staff were waiting for her at the shoreline and they walked her up to the medical staff to be checked out. The people coming off of the jet-ski excursion said she was more scared and shaken up than anything else, so I was very happy to hear that she wasn't seriously injured. For a minute, it was pretty frightening. I hope the man with the heart attack ended up being okay too in the end. Another frightening ordeal, I'm sure.

We re-booked onboard but not for the double-dip western, that would be awesome but our kids are getting of an age to where it's too hard for them to make-up all of the schoolwork missed. We re-booked for spring break next April. We had this booked several months ago to get the SPH cabins and re-booked onboard to get the 10% discount and onboard credit.

Thanks to everyone who came together and made the goody bags such a huge success! My girls were thrilled to get them! pirate:

We also enjoyed St. Thomas, had a great snorkeling excursion onboard The Doubloon with Tonya and her family. Loved the sea turtles!

St. Maarten...quite disappointing. I am in dispute now with the excursion. We booked through Island Marketing. I hope we get it resolved. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Jac - I was so happy to see you at the Palo brunch! :goodvibes I didn't want to walk over and disturb you because it's suppose to be romantic and all in there I guess but I know you wanted that very badly, glad you got in. Did you like it?

Thanks soooo much to Grumpy-Gramps for the badge and door sign! We really appreciated that! :thumbsup2

Ragdoll - I saw Shannon many times and I enjoyed chatting with her. I told her I found your badge down by the x-ray machine, I hope you got it back ok, I put it on your door. Someone stole my parents Castaway Club ship magnet off of their door. :sad2:

Talk to you all soon. It was nice meeting so many of you and chatting with you throughout the cruise. It felt pretty cool knowing other DISers onboard, like we are in the secret club! HaHa! :grouphug:

Liz, I got the Mickey badge. Thanks! Hope you and everyone else who is not feeling well recovers quickly. DGD Savannah and DH both have colds. I am usually the one who ends up sick when traveling and I am OC about handwashing.

Jim....your photos are great....I checked out all 47 pages. Loved your pirate night costumes.

Hope you and everyone else who is not feeling well recovers quickly.
Thanks ragdoll.
Pauline....hope u feel better soon. I'm not nauseous---just bad cold and I ran a low-grade fever all day. Just glad I didn't get this while on the cruise.

Deweysgirl,
Thanks for the update on the jetski accident. We only saw part of it from the shore. We weren't entirely sure what was going on.

Congrats to all of you who booked the Double-Dipper !

I was wondering who was just a few doors down from me (rm# 5137) they had a sign from GG. I didn't get to meet you but loved your door signs.

That might have been us. We were in 5129 and 5131. The door signs were fun and I was glad we knew about it. We heard people commenting on them several times as they passed by our door. Thanks again to GG for the DIS Green Mickey Head!!

We were picked to be the "Room Service Family of the Week". Has anyone else ever heard of this? On Tuesday, they brought us the menus for the rest of the week and we were able to order whatever we wanted from the regular lunch and dinner menus during the regular serving times. We didn't want to dine in our cabin since we had such an awesome server (Brendon!!!), but we did take advantage and order some extra desserts from time to time and a full blown breakfast one morning complete with eggs, bacon and pancakes. We also got a special delivery to our cabin every evening....cheese tray, plate of cookies, fruit platter, chocolate covered strawberries, petit fours, etc. It was very neat. We also got a laminated letter with our names telling us of the privilege. It was way cool!!!:cheer2: :cloud9:   :woohoo: pixiedust:

Well that's new to me. Never heard of Room Service Family of the Week. That is really cool. Always something to learn on the DIS.:thumbsup2

Very cool Paula ! I had never heard of this.

Pauline....you did tell me about the Magical Moment with Sarah. I'm so glad u all had an awesome time. BTW, I spoke with you briefly once we got off the ship. How did your shopping go while you were waiting for a later flight ? Did u find anything good ?

Our only Magical Moment (besides all the cool memories we took home with us), was celebrating my dh's birthday on our final night at dinner with Alexander and Erwin. What I missed on this video, was they lowered the dining room lights and did the little "Tinkerbell" sound before coming to our table.
This video hasn't been working on AOL....but it seems to work fine on Internet Explorer :

Hi grammy !
Sorry I never got to meet you. Hope u and the grandkiddies had a fabulous time. :)

Are we sharing magical moments...?

Ours came on Friday afternoon when we got back to our state room from Castaway Cay there was an envelope on our door. it was an invitation from Rachel to attend a special meet and greet with the Characters. Remember the final farewell from all the characters at 10:15 on Deck 3 Midship. Well, just before that we met in Studio Sea for this meet and greet. We were early and no one was there. All of the sudden goofy popped out from behind the stage. Then Peter Pan came out. 1 by one they all came out and we had personal one on one time with each one of them. there were only 3 or 4 other families invited to this special meet and greet.

Rachel and my son Griffin hit it off and I think if they were closer in age they might be together right now, because he loves her so much.

the cool thing was...Rachel remembered us from years past. So did Keyon. he said he could not remember our names, but remembered our faces.

Jim, Trent, MCraft - LOVED all of your pictures and what beautiful families! Thanks for sharing. I hope I'm not missing anyone else's.

So nice to hear of all the magical moments received, that's the icing on the cake! :goodvibes

Maria: I loved the video.. it works fine in my pc. Was it your DH's bday? That's so cute that he was ok being sang to.. my DH would probably hide under the table.. hehehehe as for shopping... eh it was no good, so we had lunch and got kinda bummed that we had to PAY for lunch when we didn't have to for 7 days.. hahahaha
P.S. your daughters are sooooooo cute I wish Sarah would want to hang out with us when she's a teenager.

I loved everyone's Magical Moments! This is why people keep coming back to Disney.... they're just awesome at what they do and they make everyone feel so special especially the little kids.

Thank you Pauline :)
He was shaking his finger at me like you shouldn't have......:rotfl:

Sorry your shopping trip was lackluster........it's kind of hit or miss with those outlets.
I know what you mean about being bummed about paying for meals ! I personally miss waking up in the morning and not having my whole breakfast laid out for me in an attractive, colorful buffet ! ;)

My girls are strange as far as teens go I guess. Believe me, dh and I encouraged them to join the teen club for a few activities but they prefer to hang with us. My ds was totally different. You couldn't get him away from the teen club.

Jim & family..........what a very cool Magical Moment you all got !

Thank you Pauline :)

We thought so too...

We will never forget that experience. Funny story...Our inlaws where with us on the cruise and they have some small children as well (long story...not for the boards) anyway...they were waiting with their kids in the lines just before the final farewell and they were asking us, "did you get in line for ??? or did you see ???" We just smiled and said..."we got them all". Little did they know that we had a private session with each and every character just before the rest of the ship did. I guess we did not want to pile it on...especially after our awsome 9-5 catagory upgrade.

:)

Hi gg! What a kind offer. Thank you so much! Harry does love his new name. Makes him smile.:)

Well, I just did the most impulsive thing that I have ever done. Practical me could not resist booking the 12/8/07 Eastern at the great price of $599 for a gty cat.12. So DH and I are getting to do it again! We have always wanted to go during the holidays to see the decorations and experience the atmosphere and the deal was too good to pass up. Even got great airfare.:thumbsup2 I still can't believe I did this but am so glad I did!:cheer2:

Hope everyone is doing well. I hate to see our thread getting buried deeper and deeper.

Donna

Hi all. It has been crazy since we got back. Still have tons of laundry and Jay is still working on the pictures.

Glad everyone had such a great time. My kids loved the goodie bags but didn't like the club/lab so much.

Pauline: Rebecca did recognize you and Sarah from the club.

Hopefully post more later.

Donna !
That is awesome....congrats. Really would love to see pics of the ship decor if you get a chance. I'll be in WDW that week with a group of friends from work. We wanted to go to WDW for the same reason---love the decor and atmoshpere during the holidays.

I hate to see our thread getting buried deeper and deeper.
I know Donna....me too. I think a big part of this is post-trip depression. For a year or more we've all planned and planned and then it just ends so abruptly :sad1:
You did the best thing---the only cure---to book another cruise ! :thumbsup2
