September 28, 2006 Wonder

Ooops, forgot to ask a quick question: :confused3

I know about all of the tipping guidelines as well as extra tip at bar if we want. However - do we tip if we do a sit down table service breakfast or lunch? Is so (I assume so) how much do we tip for average as well as spectacular service? Need to try to budget for all the "extras". TIA

Castlegazer - So sorry you had to cancel!

We will be at the Mickey Pool at 2. We will also try to get to the second meet but that will depend on the mood of the kiddo's. We will have our green bracelets on in the terminal so anyone there early look for us!

:guilty: Castlegazer. I am so sorry that you cancelled but fully understand. Family always comes first. I will carry your spirit with me on the cruise.:thumbsup2 Thanks for all the great advise.

Okie Dokie everyone. The 2:00 at the pool sounds great and I will also be at the deck 10 meet.  Being a good li'l Diser, I will be wearing my swimsuit (recommended on the boards :teeth: ) It is shades of brown with some black and the pattern looks kind of like palm leaves. I'll also have our green wrist band on. I am really looking forward to meeting everyone. :wave2:

Doc... From other cruises I have been on, It is not necessary to tip TS service for lunch or breakfast. Most times if we ate in the dinning room we sat at our regular table with our same waitstaff. We tipped once, the last night of the cruise. I suppose though that if you wanted to tip a samll amount or give a phone card, it would be appreciated. Hope this helps. :)

So sorry you had to cancel... I know how tough it is to leave the kids behind...your time will come...

I have been busy at work etc... I teach at a community college, so classes are just starting up...
I can't wait until this vacation, and I am so excited it's getting so close... in another week, I will start my post disney depression because although it hasn't started, when my Disney vacations get close, I start thinking of them being over....
I have been planning this since January, so the anticipation keeps me going... I know I am going to have book another cruise on board!

Post drill deck meet is a great idea since we all will be making it up to the top of the deck for leaving the port

Doc.... just take care of your tipping at the end in the usual manner no matter where you eat for lunch/breakfast....
13 days and counting

Bumping us back up to page 1! We are less than two weeks away from cruising! DS7 is really starting to get excited. He goes off track next Wednesday from school for three weeks so he knows we are getting close as this is his fall break!

Maybe I should start to pack. I at least need to be sure the boys have pants they can wear to dinner. They have been in shorts since late April so I am not sure anything they have (besides jeans) is long enough!

Have a great weekend everyone! See you at the Mickey Pool! :cool1:

I signed on as Doc, but this is Sleepyd. I appreciate the cheers and thoughts. Gonna need that energy, I'm sure! :thumbsup2

We leave for WDW one week from right NOW :cool1: :cool1:

Want to know how excited my DW is?

She and my DD last night made a huge construction paper chain last night.
176 links that stretch around the house.
Why 176?
That's how many hours until we left for the airport next Saturday.
They've been taking a link off every hour!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hopefully she didn't get up every hour in the night.

LOL FatherForce, that is too cute and too funny. What a terrific way to count down with your DD. :thumbsup2

6 days and 18 hours until we hit WDW. :cool1:
I can't believe it is almost here. Seems like we have been planning this vacation for years.

I got all our last minute things yesterday. Bug repellant (for the parks), bandaids and moleskin. Icy Hot for those sore muscles I am sure we will have. :rolleyes1

I pretty much have everything packed on my end but my wonderful DH (the Procrastinator) still has his to do. I am sooooooooooo ready for this magical trip to begin. :yay: :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

Sleepydog, how did you do???

With the race being over, I can officially begin to look forward the cruise. And Doc is grateful that I will actually be going having not injured myself in the race! We're essentially done with everything but the packing. . .and for that I'll wait until a day or so before. I can do that. Doc? Not so much. I figure she'll be packed a few days earlier than that. Packing means she only has to transfer all the clothes she has hanging around the room to a suitcase. ;)

Fallon: It's safe to say I survived. I don't know if I mentioned but it's triathalon with a 40-mile bike leg, followed by a 12-mile canoe leg, and ending with a half-marathon (13.1 miles). My goal was a sub-8 hour race, which I did with a time of 7:33 and change. On that level, I'm very pleased given it was my first time at doing this race alone (there are teams entered, too). However, I'm disappointed in the run as I began to feel a twinge in my knee around mile 3. By mile 4, I had to stop and wrap it. From there, I gutted out the rest of the run but at a much slower pace than I had planned. As a result, I wound up coming in fifth in my age group (and I ain't sayin' what age that is!) missing fourth by 2 minutes and third by 3 minutes. I compete against myself in these things, against a time I have in my mind, so where I place is generally unimportant. But, to have missed out placing due to a knee condition I've only had once before in a race 12 years ago, is aggravating. Heck, had I cut my transition times between legs by two minutes each, I'd have been okay. Grrrrr. Anyhoo, I'm mobile (if a bit sore) and ready to go cruising. Can't wait to meet you and all the others who've been on here. Thanks for your moral support! :thumbsup2

We leave one week from tomorrow! It is finally getting cooler here so hopefully as I wash the kids summer clothes I can pack them rather than have them wear them this week.

WOw, I had not realized it was so soon... I can't believe it... how exciting. I can't wait until our cruise...I have been so busy with school starting.

Great news on the weather. In the back of my mind I have been worrying about a hurricane since we booked this trip. I am so glad it looks like the weather will be great.

Good Morning all - 9 days to go. :cool1:

Bumping us back to page 1! :)

Yes, I do believe it's time for the single digit dance. . .:dancer:Of course, for me it would be more like this. . . :dogdance: We arrrrgh really getting close now! ;) We drive to PC a week from tomorrow. Okay, I'm gonna drive and Doc is gonna watch movies on the DVD in back. . .:thumbsup2

4 days for us...and last night our DD was coughing her head off and complaining of a sore throat :scared:

This morning I took her to the doc and they did a strep test....
negative. No fever, no strep.

She had some redness in her throat and a little bit of red in one eye.

He gave her some cough suppresent and said it might just be a little virus.
Kept her out of school today (which is a bit problematic since she'll be out all next wee).

He thinks she should be ok, but she is so upset that she might be sick for the vacation and maybe not get to go on the cruise.

All signs point to the positive, but man, oh, man, ......

Oh boy keep her drinking lots of juices... she'll get over it quick...could it just be fall allergies? They are hitting our houseold.

Well, I just put my finishing touches on my proposal for my daughters club soccer team. Coach and I are meeting with parents tonight, to give them all the details on a tournament we want to play at Disney over Presidents weekend 2007... parents are on board with the concept but haven't seen the details... hope I am a good salesman tonight.

Anyone ever done a sporting event there? I know All Star Cafe is at the WWS complex, but are there any other counter service restaurants there?
