I am over the moon excited for our first cruise. We always knew it would be a Disney cruise!

I've spent the past two nights researching on DISboards for tips and tricks. And even looking for info for answers to questions I didn't even think to ask.

I can't wait to join in all the fun.

Well feel free to ask questions here too as we have several veteran cruises (both DCL and other lines).

It's ranning cats and dogs here in washington state. Dreamming the warm tropical sun while slipping a cool drink on the deck of the fantasy. I've started on my EF gifts and hope every one will like them. Looking foward to Mickey's not so scary halloween party. I've never been. I think i'm going to dress as a princess. I'm having dinner with Cinderella. It's a pre birthday dinner my real birthday is Saturday september 22. I resvered the royal birthday package where you get a slipper dessert and a tirara. they emailed me a pic of the tirara and it's beauitfull. Can't belive that we only have 144 more days. Or on may 24 we will be only 30 days from booking online. Any one getting up at 3:00 am? or is it 12:01[/COLOR:hug:

Any suggestions on inexpensive things to do with a 4-year-old? Museums or anything near the ports?

So far the only thing jumping out me is Butterfly Anytime on St. Thomas.

My husband says he'll want to buy some rum, for later, and sit and listen to the ocean.

Me, I have no idea what I want.

Anyone know about public transportation on either St. Thomas or St. Maarten?

Hello. I'll add you to the roll call. If you'd like I can add your name(s) and any other info you'd like to see next to your screen name in the roll call on post one.:goodvibes

As far as St Martin or St Thomas, I'd check out the discussion boards on cruisecritic dot com. They have a very large section about St Thomas and St Martin excursions. I'm sure you'll get a lot of feedback here on the Dis too.;)

Actually booking on your available date starts at 12:01AM east coast time. So I believe if you're in Washington State, you would actually be able to book at 9:01PM the night before.

I'm sure some other veteran cruisers can verify. I'm on the east coast so it's always 12:01AM for me.

Hello, Me (Ashley - 28) & my boyfriend (Jon - 30) will be cruising with you all. My first Disney cruise and I'm very excited! We have the main seating for dining. Thanks, I'll search more on cruisecritic dot com. But I have found that I like searching DISboards much better and it's easier too.

Oh, anyone know which city/port we'll be at on either of the islands? That will make looking for things to do easier. I don't want to find something neat only to discover it's the furthest possible thing from where we come ashore.

Took the kids to see "Chimpanzee" today (rainy day here) and it was really cute. Less violent than other DisneyNature movies that we had seen, so DD was happy.

We also stopped at Target for the latest "Kingdom Keepers" book and then decided to get the 10th Anniversary DVD of "The Pricess Diaries" too. Entered the code from the movie and had enough points to get another Disney Gift card ($10) to put towards our spending money!

And to answer MDTwingles...I am not planning on doing a PTR. I've never read one of those, what do people put in the PTR?

We were able to see Chimpanzee onboard the Magic to a full house it was great. Tim Allen does a good job narrating.

We are getting a dog! My husband and kids have been wanting a dog for a LONG time. (Me, too...but I was fine with just our kitty.) My DH is a police officer and we were on the list for a retired K-9, but we knew that could take months or even years. We also are on the list at our local Golden Retriever Rescue. The two breeds that we were set on was a Golden or a German Shepherd. Well, my SIL called my DH on Friday night and said "You have to see this dog on Craigslist!" All it said was that is was a full-bred German Shepherd, female, 11 mos old and it needed to go to a good family.

Well, I was skeptical, but I told my DH to go ahead email the person about the dog. They emailed back and forth a few times and she sent a couple pictures of the dog. They spoke this morning and we were able to get some more details...

They are a family with 3 kids and they are moving to the East Coast of FL to be closer to family. The place they are moving in to is a rental and they won't accept large dogs, so they had no choice but to find a new home for her. We had some questions for her, and she had questions for us. She wanted to make sure we weren't going to breed her and that she was going to be an inside dog, etc. She said that she had received over 40 phone calls over the last 2 weeks and there were 2 people that they were considering, but after talking to us, she knew we were the right people!

We went over to their house this afternoon and spent over 2 hours there playing with the dog, talking to them and their kids, and really getting to know each other! The owners loved us and chose us to adopt their sweet Rheena!!! She is the most beautiful German Shepherd and is so sweet and loving. And is fabulous with our kids! We will be getting her in the next week or two and we are just over the moon.

I always told my DH that the right dog would come along at the right time and it seems that Rheena has done just that! So happy :)

Congrats on the new member of the family, my wife and I are also looking for a new dog and like you said "the right dog will come along at the right time"
Have fun with Rheena!

Hey everyone! I have to apologize that I've not been active on here for a VERY long time, but I'm vowing to be more involved from this day forward! I've been contributing to the FB Page from time-to-time, so hopefully that will help me stay more motivated to stay on DISboards, too.

So let me re-introduce myself to those of you who don't know me already, and I know there are several of you out there that we've cruised together before! I'm terribly excited to cruise with you again, and very much looking forward to making new friends From Fantasyland To The Fantasy!

I'm Kimberly from central Ohio. On paper, I'll be cruising solo this time, but knowing many of you already doesn't make me feel alone. :grouphug: My last DIS cruise was the westbound transatlantic in 2010, which was absolutely the MOST amazing trip EVAR, BTW! lol
So, I'm very much anxious to get back on DCL after this long separation, especially after a non-pampering girls' weekend cruise on NCL last September. I, scratch that, WE are spoiled with DCL! Preachin' to the choir, I know! :goodvibes

Like many of you, I've been waiting for this cruise to creep up since October 2010 when I booked it. I created a new signature ticker this afternoon and couldn't believe it said 4 months (yeah yeah...and 4 weeks, but still...4 months)!!! Seriously....the time has gone really fast! I really need to get myself pulled together working on door magnets and a (hopefully) creative FE gift.

We'll chat soon! I need to catch up on some more recent posts so I don't feel like I'm clueless with the chit chat!

Welcome back Kimberly, I too have been missing in action for a few weeks here on the boards. We just returned from a 5 night Magic cruise it was great and can't wait for this cruise....time is flying.

Hi everyone!! My name is Brian...Long time cruiser, first time on the Dis Boards. My wife (michigan829) and kids and I have been on 5 Disney cruises. They all have been on the Disney Magic. I know the family is looking forward to the new ship, but I really love the Magic and how it's set up. We live in Michigan and are Huge Wolverines fans. You should be able to spot us by the clothes we will be wearing evey day. lol Plus our Michigan towels at the pools. We have been to Disney World 3 times with the last visit Aug of 2011. Must say the cruises are MUCH better for relaxing. I'm looking forward to this cruise and getting to know all of you.

Welcome aboard Brian!
