September 22, 2012 Fantasy Eastern "From Fantasyland to the Fantasy"

W booked our airfare today too! It was $179 for us, but we had reward points from opening a rapid rewards visa card, so we only paid the $10 in govnment fees this time around. We are coming in on friday the 21 st, and We will wait for a return flight until they release mor dates, still deciding on when we will return...29th, 30 th, or oct 1st. we will probably just wee what day is cheaper. Now we will start looking for rental car deals and hotels at the port the night before we set sail!

Welcome aboard you will love DCL I hope you can keep that a surprise from your DD thats going to be a hard one to do.

I am in renovation mode....DH and I have been removing the wallpaper from our bedroom all weekend. We are ALMOST done, but then so much more to do. Fix all the holes in the wall, wash them, prep for painting and then paint. Oy. I am just trying to envision the end result to make it all worth it!

Next on the list is doing the same wallpaper removal to our living room/hall/entry...that is a MUCH bigger job, but it will save us lots of money to do it ourselves.

We have been in this house for 13 1/2 years and while the wallpaper isn't horrible, its just not us and I'm in the mood for something NEW!

It also helps pass the time until we sail. :rotfl2:

Looking forward to checking out the updates in Post One...but have to get back to work before DH realizes I am on here!

It must be that time of year for this kind of renovations I'm doing the same thing at my MIL's house. Removing wallpaper from the living room, upstair hallway, down stairs hall and kitchen and than paint, paint, paint.....should be finished by the end of the month.....I hope!
Good luck with your projects.

Hey everyone! I've updated post one a little bit. Since the Fantasy's construction is basically completed I've changed out the construction photo with a photo from the float-out celebration. Check it out! It's starting to seem real.:cool2:

Ron

The ship sure looks great and it will be heading out for her sea trials this week :woohoo: hope all goes well.
Post one looks great also Ron.....thanks for all your hard work!
Just 243 days :dance3:

It must be the CT thing to do right now! :lmao:

Feel free to come work on my house if you are done by the end of the month....I know we won't be done with all our stuff by then, we only have the weekends to work on it as the week is too crazy with work/kid stuff.

My goal is to be done with all this by the time softball/baseball starts for my kids...otherwise it will be on hold until the FALL!

Happy Monday everyone

Gotta love the airlines - it's $10 cheaper to leave from CT than out of Phila!

Had a lousy week end. Here in washington state we had a huge snow storm where i live we got 18 inches over night. Then on wendsday we had frezzing rain on top of the snow . On thursday the power in Bucoda went out and we still are out of power. We have heat and a camp stove to cook on but our some of our frozen food will probably go bad. If our powder isn't on by tonight i'm going to cook the meat and chicken. On the good side we were able to use the snow to keep our other stuff cold. Spent most of the day looking for lamp oil of course just about every stove is out so we got battery lamps. I have the cruise to look foward to. See ya real soon

Hey, Everyone!! I started looking for flights for me, my mother, and father. I was suprised to learn that Southwest no longer has the non-stop flight from Jackson to Orlando on the Friday before we sail. I looked at other options. CRAZINESS: a Delta flight from JAN through MEM then on to MCO is $146. The same flight getting on at MEM and then to MCO $316. Good Grief.

I was wondering what people thought who had stayed at the Hyatt the night before and then took the bus to the boat. And, I am planning on staying afterwards for some land days. What is the best way to go about getting from port to hotel? Hopefully staying at Coronado Springs.

Thanks!!

I haven't even started looking at airfares yet as JetBlue hasn't released past 9/4.

We stayed at the Hyatt MCO last cruise (flew in late on Friday) and I used a combination of Delta miles and cash for the room. It was very convenient. If you use the Disney transportation to port, you just head back to the airport area in the AM. And at the Hyatt, they have someone there to do your checkin and they take the bags from your room so you don't have to worry about it.

If you are staying at WDW after the cruise, you may want to do the DCL transportation again, or look into a private car service.

Thanks for this bit of info! I never thought about using our skymiles to book a room! Sure will eliminate my stress of trying to fly in the morning of our cruise!

Joining the crew here! We purchased our cruise a few weeks ago.

I've looked into the Hyatt as an option. I've even called their concierge service to get details.

They handle your bags for you and make sure they get to Disney for transport to the cruise and you don't see your bags again until you get to your cabin. Thus, you don't have to haul them around.

The rooms were about $170/night when I checked. If you have any frequent flier miles, that might be an option for you to keep cost down.

We are staying at a WDW Resort beforehand and Disney Cruise is providing us w/transportation for $35/pp but I think it's free form the airport.

Hello everyone,

Well I (we've) have had a wonderful week so far:sad2: Sunday my mother landed in the hospital for a small blood clot by her knee. She's going to be in the hospital till at least the end of the week, then she might have to go to rehab for a while:sick: Yesterday my father was on his way to visit my mother at the hospital, he was stopping for a red light but the car behind him didn't stop. Yep, right in the back of his Blazer. Last night his lower back started to hurt and he was getting numbness in his legs. So off to ER again. He's going to be fine just a back strain. His Blazer could have been a lot worse I guess, it got the tail light, bumper, little bit of the tailgate and the 1/4 panel.

Better this happens now instead of a week before our cruise:laughing:
