September 22, 2012 Fantasy Eastern "From Fantasyland to the Fantasy"

thanks it looks like we have all day in st maarten. I plan on shopping and exporing i've never been there

Yep that is the exact itinerary for the 7 day we just finished on the Magic last week.
St. Maarten is a great place to eat some local cuisine and just take a relaxing bus tour. My 4 year old and I did the buterfly tour. The butterfly part was lame and we got rained on half the time, but the tour was awesome!
If you do this, you must ask for Jose (Joe-zay). He is awesome!
Be sure and ask him about the pink croc.

The shopping is just so-so. Lots of local handmade junk, much like Mexico.

Anyway, I might actually take the same tour again, just to hear more of Jose's stories.

OK, here we go.....

We just came off a 7 day Eastern on the Magic and were so pleased (for the 4th time) that we booked this cruise on the Fantasy while onboard. :thumbsup2

Cast of Characters: (Ages are at time of cruising)
Me(DH) - Fred - 43 :surfweb:
DW - Shannon... turning 40 2 days before the cruise! :cloud9:
DD - Arden - 5y princess:
DD - Ansley - 1y :cutie:

Room: 7648
Dining: Early/Main
We hail from: Charlotte, NC
This will be our 5th DCL cruise. (Bring on the Gold CC status , baby! :cool1:)
We will most definitely participate in the FE exchange.

The night before (9/21) we will be at Residence Inn (as usual). We will probably get in too late to meet up for dinner. (we drive down).

** OK, enough of the formalities... **

I just finished reading all 40 pages of this thread... Sad, I know.
Here are the things I remembered I wanted to reply to:

I would be more than happy to manage anything that someone doesn't have time to manage with regards to this DIS group... FE List, Meet Schedule, etc. Just let me know!

Some thoughts on Meet ideas:
Watch the ship arrive (5am-ish 9/22 at the public park)
Chocolate/Treat Meet (Share 'local' delicacies from each person's hometown)
Smoothie Meet (in Cove Cafe)
Cigar Meet (One or multiple nights for those who like to indulge)

The cruise we just completed had a guy that was an expert in astronomy. He hald a 'stargazing meet' on the top deck one night and gave a guided tour of the night sky. It was awesome, a big hit!

* I used to play in Euchre tournaments!

Anyway, just wanted to stop in and say, "Howdy y'all!". this looks to be an awesome group. I can't wait to get to know everyone! :grouphug:

Cheers!
Welcome to our group. I am so excited to see out group grow. You seem to have some great ideas for some diffeerent group activities. Well gotto run, Lois

What do ya think we'll do this time? Turtle Cove was so much fun and Trunk Bay was beautiful! I guess we can look into the Coral World helmet dive thing or snuba... or maybe we can try to get a group together and do something really cool... I think someone recommended a really cool boat captain who does private excursions to you... didn't they?;)

I'm heading to Vegas tomorrow for a 5-Day vacation! Cannot wait! I've never been to Vegas before so I am really excited!

I'm heading to Vegas tomorrow for a 5-Day vacation! Cannot wait! I've never been to Vegas before so I am really excited!

My husband and I were just there to celebrate our 11 year anniversary. We were married at the Bellagio October 18, 2000. You are going to have so much fun. I love the lights, the shows, the food and of course the shopping. We were there for 5 days and the weather was beautiful. Remember to drink a lot of water it is a dry heat in Vegas and you won't know you are dehydrated till it is too late. That was the first piece of advice I was given when I went to Vegas for the first time and it was probably the best advice as well. HAVE A BLAST!!!!
