September 22, 2012 Fantasy Eastern "From Fantasyland to the Fantasy"

Welcome aboard to all you new folks it's going to be a great cruise!
lisabbscott you are going to love your cabin (10658) plenty of room in this cabin and one of the larger verandahs on the ship :thumbsup2
My wife and I are just on the other side of the ship in 10158, we sailed on the Dream in 10158 it was great. Take a look at your cabin on youtube www.youtube.com/watch?v=9V8lJVsnv4c

Welcome to our group to both of you. This will be one of the best cruises and dis groups ever. I can say that with some assuance because I have had the honor to have already cruised with several already in the past.

I am so excited to see our group growing. Lois
This is going to be a great cruise only 329 more days. I found some magnet sheets at staples they come in a package of four sheets for $10.00 not to bad. Could some on explain how the FE gifts works. Also just what kind of gifts are we talking about thanks

My husband Alan (44) and I (Alisia , 46) have booked this cruise without our kid!!!!!!:cool1: I can't wait to see the new ship and all it has to offer:lovestruc This will be our third DCL cruise. We can't wait to meet everyone. My husband and I are from California and we love everything Disney. I probably have been to Disneyland over 60 times!

Cabin : 12002
Dining : Second seating
wow I though my 7 trips to disneyland was over the top. Sounds like you and I will have a wonderful time I too love all things disney. mY FAVORITE movie is beauty and the beast. I 'm going to the musical in febuary.

Here I live near Zanesville, Ohio!!! What area are you from?

Thank you I will do that! Couple of questions I do have as of now is:
Do we need a passport?
My friend and I want to do parasailing & ride Jet Ski -- are they worth it?
How do we tip the Waiters, every day or all at once? (& How much $?)
Yes you do i know that they are expensive but it's a good form of ID. In fact when i moved to Bucoda we get our mail through a post office box and used my passport as my Id. It only took me three weeks to get my. I know that we have just under a year until our cruisei would start the process now because every passport appcation is diffent.

We were assuming that we would fly into Orlando, is that not the greatest idea? I always fly Southwest everywhere I go, love them! (Bags are FREE!)
I booked my flight from seattle with disney. Since i will be flying into orlando the day before the cruise i really don't care what flight i get. I got a overnight stay at the hyatt and around trip trasfers included. I think my around trip air was $565.00 My friend is flying to alaska in december and she paid $1,300 for her and her husband. I hopeing that Minnie choses Alaska air.

OMG!!! That's how I feel too:lovestruc Every now and then, for no reason at all, on Saturday mornings when everyone is asleep, except the 4 dogs, we sneak into my bedroom and try not to wake my hardworking hubby, open the "cruise drawer" and look at my vacation to be stuff. Then I gather my doggies and we try to slip out the bedroom door quietly:lovestruc I'm like a little kid but this little kid is 47 years old!!!!
I have my carryon suitecase packed and stored in my backroom. I even have my totelies pack in a one quart sized bag. have my formal dress ordered. This is my seound order the first order there were some diffulites, however this seound dress is more fromal than the first. I have a photo of the dress taped to my dresser mirro. I spen at least three hours a day on the cruise web sight for new updates. I'm 50

We live about 300 miles away from Disneyland and I have family that lives in the Disney area so I have been a Disney fan since I was a kid.

I have great memories of my mom, my Aunt Martha and all of my cousins every year being together and having a BLAST at Disneyland. My mom, would save money all year so that she could give her kids (myself and my brother) the best time ever. My mom just recently passed away last Saturday, but the priceless memories of our Disney time together and love still live on in my heart. I have my mom to thank for my love of all things Disney which I in turn passed on to my son. My son is 20 but he thinks Disneyland and DCL are the best vacations ever.

My favorite Disney movie are the one's with the dogs in them like Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmatians but there is a special place in my heart for Dumbo. Just love that little elephant:lovestruc:lovestruc

My sweet husband Alan loves Disney and DCL cruises so much that he gets teary eyed when we leave. I'm telling you, he is the perfect person for me!
My husband and I just returned from Vegas where we saw the musical "The Lion King" It was so spectacular and it touched my heart.....We loved it.

I agree, you and I will have a lot to talk about:thumbsup2 I can't wait for this vacation to begin.

I know what you are feeling about lossing your mother I lost my mom to cancer last year.I also lost my sister after a car crash six months before my mom. In fact the money i used for this cruise came from what she left me. In fact I will be bringing one of her star wars throw blankets I got from her. Also I have a dog named Lady and cat named Belle. I have seen beauty and the beast the musical two times and this febuary i get to see it again. my boyfriend likes stitch and cars and Donald duck. We have cars two comming. One quick question about FE what kind of gifts do you put in them? Mashelle Belle

I have never participated in an FE gift exchange so I really don't know. Maybe someone on the board could explain to both of us how it works and what kinds of gifts we can put in them.:)

To all those who want to do Fish Extenders...:cool2:

Jen has volunteered to handle the list.:goodvibes She will start to get info from everyone who wants to do it as we get a little closer to the cruise.:goodvibes She's kind of wrapped up in her trip report right now, but I'm sure once she finishes that she'll be ready to dive right into planning for this cruise!;)

Ron
I would love to be included for the FE. I don't want to spend a lot of money however:wizard:

I'm new to FE and was wondering what kinds of gifts dosen one put inside. Also have never made a FE before and was hoping for some help. Also how many gifts to put inside. should there be diffent gifts for the kids. One more thing how much dosen one spend on them

Not at all. On our last cruise, we had the Roy Disney Suite so the door was huge and my husband "covered" it in magnets. It was pretty neat actually:)

Here's an example of our door magnets and our fish extender.

This was actually one of our least decorated doors that we've had.;)

There is no set amount of $ to spend...:)
In the past we've gotten small bags of candy, magnets to represent the givers home town, recipe cards, playing cards, bubbles, first aid kits, cd(s) of music local to the giver, small toys from oriental trading, the list goes on and on...;)

My favorites have been the homemade items. We've gotten a personalized tote bag that someone made for us, homemade Christmas ornaments, a hand painted wooden picture frame and many more items.:cool2:

Some people do give separate items for kids and for adults. We personally have given just one gift per stateroom. Something the whole family can enjoy.:thumbsup2

There are many threads about fish extender gift ideas and how to make fish extenders on the dcl forum. Do a search for FE or Fish Extenders and you'll be surprised at what you come up with.

Jen (Nenner1) will start to organize our FE exchange as our cruise gets a little closer. She'll start a list then. Once she starts the list let her know at that time that you want to do it. If you say it now you may get lost in the shuffle and we wouldn't want anyone to miss out.;)

Now that's an awesome door!!!!!! I love it:lovestruc

Agree. It makes our doors (of which we were so proud) look very lame.

With the snow/sleet/rain going on here, I'm really looking forward to this cruise right now.

I did a search on FE and looked at what other people were doing, and it definatly looks like a lot of fun! I expecially like the idea of 'getting ready' for a cruise months before....extends out the exhitement!!

Today I am very thankful that we did not get any of that nasty white stuff. I am not looking forward to getting snow in the future. That is why we plan to move to Florida in 2018. Today we are going through our stuff and much is going to be donated to others. It will be nice to let go of all the junk and simplify our life.

Again, I hope all have a safe and Happy Halloween. Lois
