September 22, 2012 Fantasy Eastern "From Fantasyland to the Fantasy"

We just came back from the Disney Wonder last week in Alaska.....what a trip!! I never thought I would like to cruise north but I would do it again in a heart beat, maybe in a few years.
We booked another cruise while on aboard for April on the Magic gotta love that 10% discount, if all works out next year we will have cruise aboard all four ships at the end of this one:cool1:

We did the Alaskan cruise on Aug 9th! It was fantastic and I'd do that again anytime!! I am next crusing the Dream in October so I too will have cruised aboard all four ships by the beginning of this cruise as I currently have the 9/15 and 9/22 booked back to back.

Do you get a discount for back to back and can you have the same cabin and if so do you need to remove your bags from the ship and reboard?
Just wonder:confused3 ........we may do a back to back some day just can't seem to get enough DCL:woohoo:

Well thank you very much! I am SO excited! Cannot control myself! lol I must admit one of the things Im looking forward to the most is the AquaDuck Slide!

And yeah... I've heard of Chardon, OH before! Im a couple hours south of you! It looks like there is a nice amount of people from Ohio that is going to be on this cruise, thats awesome!

As this being my first cruise EVER what do you think is on of the many things I should know??

I do have a few suggestions for you:thumbsup2 Here are a few things I do:

Right before I leave the house to go to the airport I put some sun screen on me since the sunscreen has to go in your main suitcase.

I would pack a set of clothes for dinner and put them in your carry-on. You may not get your main suitcase delivered to your stateroom in time to get ready for dinner.

This is a tradition for me. I get up around 5:00am the first night of the cruise and walk the entire ship. There is mainly crew only up this early, it's a good time to take pictures and find out where eveything is on the ship. I end up on deck #10 on the Magic now it will be deck #12 on the Fantacy and I take pictures of our 1st sunrise.

On Pirate Night (it was on Tues. Night on the Magic) I would get up to deck 11 or 12 about an hour before the deck party starts (9:45pm). Just about the entire ship comes to this deck party so the deck do fill up fast.:scared1:

Go to all the live shows, they are worth seeing:woohoo:

These are just a few of my personal suggestions.

I got the same discount for each cruise as you get for booking on board (10% off the cruise and OBC). I was able to get the same cabin for both cruises. Having the same cabin, I do not need to pack from one cruise to the next. I can leave my stuff in the cabin. However, I will be required to leave the ship and register for the next cruise. My understanding is that they set a time for B2B cruisers to leave and then take you back into the terminal where they check you in (once they've closed down the last cruise) and then right back on to the ship. This is usually done prior to them opening the terminal to the new cruisers. Additionally, if you need to change cabins, I understand that you can pack and the crew will take you luggage to the new cabin.

Wow you sure are close to the airport, we are in Southington. Who knows we might be on one of the same flights when it comes time. We use Southwest most of the time.

Yep - nothing like a 7 minute commute to the airport! :thumbsup2

Now that JetBlue flies out of BDL, that is our first choice for our Disney flights, but SW is a close second. All depends on who has the best deal. However, now that I have the JB AmEx card and have enough for one free flight, I'd hazard to guess we will be on JB again next year.

Welcome! We are at main dining. Of all the cruises we have been on, we eat at main dining and have never been late for the show in the evening. I'm sure that you have nothing to worry about. Once the Fantasy sets sail, we will hear more information, though.

Great, thanks for letting me know. I was worried from the other threads, but then again - I kept reading TS meals at WDW could take up 2 hours. But we *never* spent that much time in a TS!

I'm sorry it took me so long to get back here. I can't wait until the end of October or so when a decision is finally made. My husband & I are looking forward to a cruise. He's set with this. I would really like to talk him into the October Hawaiian (if it comes out) instead. And our DD is pushing to go back to WDW instead next year (and bringing a friend) for her 13th birthday. And of course, I'm trying to research all 3 trips, thinking (in vain) that it will help make up my mind! :rotfl: Ohh, and if we end up on the Hawaiian... then of course we have to visit Disneyland. :) (never been there)

I must admit one of the things Im looking forward to the most is the AquaDuck Slide!

Hey, hi! It's also our first cruise. :goodvibes Honestly, dive right into reading all the posts on the DCL side of DIS. Loads of threads with great helpful knowledge!

We are now up to 24 DIS-ers! :thumbsup2

Have fun! Friends of ours cruised on Allure just 3 weeks ago. They had a good time. The ship looks beautiful! We watched an hour long show of the sister ship Oasis from the crew point of view. Very interesting and informative!

We just came back from the Disney Wonder last week in Alaska.....what a trip!! I never thought I would like to cruise north but I would do it again in a heart beat, maybe in a few years.

James suggested Alaska. I wanted our first cruise to be somewhere warm (heck, I'm cold 8-9 months of the year out here), but I have to admit - all those gorgeous photos makes me want to cruise there! Maybe in a few years. In the summer months when I can book on opening day. I priced out next summer and it's too much right now.

Wow, aren't you lucky! We could fly out of Toronto (1 hour away), but it's so expensive. So we drive to Buffalo and fly with JetBlue. I'm tired of seeing very limited direct flights (usually 1!) so early in the morning.

We were assuming that we would fly into Orlando, is that not the greatest idea? I always fly Southwest everywhere I go, love them! (Bags are FREE!)

Thanks! We will!!!:cool1: Jen will be doing a TR. ;)

We've watched that show a couple of times. :goodvibes It is informative. It almost makes me think of the ship being more of a job than a vacation though. :confused3

This is my last work day before vacation. This day can't get over quick enough!! Although when I get home there is still a ton of work to do. :headache:

Hello everyone! My name is Amanda (23) and I live in Gettysburg, PA with my husband, Ken (25). This will be my 5th Disney cruise, but my husbands first. The other 4 were taken when I was a teenager living with family. Me and my husband have been to Disney World 4 times together (5th trip will happen right before the cruise) and I told him its high time he took me on the cruise! hahaha
We will be celebrating our 5th anniversary on the cruise (Sept. 22) so I'm really looking forward to that!! We have the late dining and have booked room 6076 with the veranda. I've never had a veranda so I'm also looking forward to that! Should be fun!!! I'm really looking forward to meeting all of you!

Have the BEST time!!!!

Wow... this cold weather here in Ohio today is making me wish this cruise was a little closer away!

Yes, flying into Orlando (MCO) is usually what everyone does. BDL is my home airport as AlohaBob and I are from the same state and were discussing flights out of here. :)

I agree...it's cold here in CT as well, but I am heading to WDW on Tuesday, so looking forward to the warm sunshine while we are there!
