September 22, 2012 Fantasy Eastern "From Fantasyland to the Fantasy"

We will be there! We're from St.Louis.
Me: Terry Age 38
my wife: Esther Age 38
Our kids
Cassie - will turn 9 when on board!
T - age 4

Stateroom 2521
We have late dining. Not sure if that was a good decision though.

Welcome aboard! I have two girls who will be 9 and (just turning) 5 when we sail. And we will be neighbors - you are in the cabin right across from us! We are in 2522! My MIL is actually in the cabin right next to yours :) If you're on Facebook, don't forget to join our page!

You can always request to be switched to main dining once you're on board if you decide it's too late to be eating. We always do main dining, but there are a lot of people that enjoy the late seating!

1 month until we are in WDW. Finally, seems we've been waiting for so long here. It's encouraging for the cruise! lol

I know what you mean! Sept 23rd can't get hear soon enough! We have our girls' costumes all ready to go for MNSSHP and we are so excited to be staying at AKL!

Our cast of characters:
Darcy (me)
Tom (DH)
Jordan (DD - 10 almost 11 when we cruise)
Aidan (DS - 10 almost 11 when we cruise)

We live in CT, have 2nd dining and are in room 6572

This will be our 3rd cruise and we will be celebrating our 16th anniversary. Looking foward to the new ship...I think. :goodvibes I am on the fence about wanting to see the new ship and thinking it is SO much bigger than the Wonder & Magic....we shall see!

Can't wait to catch up on all the pages....

Welcome! This is going to be an exciting year of planning and getting to know everyone for sure!

We are a family of 4. There's myself (Danielle), husband (James), our 13 year old daughter (Jaimie Leigh), and our 8 year old son (Andrew). We live in Ontario, Canada.

Ohh, we have stateroom 9662 and are eating at main dining. I'm not sure if we would prefer second dining or not. Our family is used to eating around 5-6pm. But some posts indicate that main dining could make you late for the evening entertainment. What is your take on that?

Welcome! We are at main dining. Of all the cruises we have been on, we eat at main dining and have never been late for the show in the evening. I'm sure that you have nothing to worry about. Once the Fantasy sets sail, we will hear more information, though.

OK so who on here actually prefers Disney Cruises to staying at WDW for an equal amount of time? Just wondering how the cruises match up. It'll be my first cruise.

As much as I love Disney World, nothing beats DCL. At Disney, I feel like I'm always on the go and am exhausted at the end of the day. (Not complaining, though!) On DCL, it is so relaxing. Even though there is a ton of things to keep you busy, I never feel like I am dog-tired at the end of the day! A wonderful wonderful wonderful vacation!

I just sent in my request to join the FB group.

My name is Darcy and I have the Mickey painted thing from Castaway Cay as my profile pic. :)

Without a doubt I would do a Disney Cruise over Disney World any day but with that said we stil do cruise sandwiches.
We'll do serveral days at WDW before the cruise you know all the running around in the parks and than a nice relaxing cruise with one extra night at WDW before heading back home.
I'm sure you will feel the same way we all do after your cruise.........you can't beat DCL

Thank you I will do that! Couple of questions I do have as of now is:
Do we need a passport?
My friend and I want to do parasailing & ride Jet Ski -- are they worth it?
How do we tip the Waiters, every day or all at once? (& How much $?)

As of right now you can still cruise on a closed loop with a Certified Brith Certificate. But if anything happens during your cruise and you need to fly home you are out of luck. Jusyt be sure you have a Certified BC and not a copy or the one that the hospital provided. It must be from the state. I would recommend that you get a Passport and then there are no worrys you are covered for ten years.

I can't speask as to the parasailing or the jetskis as I have not done either.

As far as the tipping it is very simple. You will tip 4 castmembers at the end of the week. Three from the dining room and your stateroom host. It is about 12 dollars per day / per person. That is about 84.00 per person for a 7 day cruise. The service is often so good that I add just a bit. Some of the others that you will need to keep in mind are room service. They are tipped each time as are those that bar tend both on desk and in the bars. I also choose to tip extra when I book Palo the adult only resturant.

You will also pay extra for any alcohol you drink, bottled water, Speciaty drinks (i.e. Smoothies and specialty coffee) and Soda's from the bar or room service. If you get drinks from the drink station they are included. They have coffee, tea, coke products, and Milk. They even have hot chocolate in the package that you can mix with hot water.

You can spend alot on a cruise but evertything you need is provided so it can be a cheap way to vacation.

I hope this info helps and even brings up a few more questions. Lois

Welcome aboard!!!! You could not have picked a better cruise line to be your first cruise. This will be my 8th Disney Cruise.

I also live in Ohio, Chardon (about 30 East of Cleveland). If you ever hear on the news about a city getting a lot snow, that would be me.

And yeah... I've heard of Chardon, OH before! Im a couple hours south of you! It looks like there is a nice amount of people from Ohio that is going to be on this cruise, thats awesome!

This will only be our 3rd cruise, but I can say...you should know that you will LOVE it and you will HAVE to book another cruise onboard. If you re-book onboard, you get 10% off the cruise fare (not including taxes) and OBC (on board credit). If you use a travel agency that also gives OBC, you will get the one from Disney as well as your TA. If you aren't sure when you want to cruise again, STILL book a cruise (called a dummy date) to get the 10% discount and OBC, and then you can move the cruise date later.

I am a huge Disney fan (going to WDW next week) and I didn't think I could do a cruise and not the parks. I was WRONG! I love the cruise for the Disney service and atmosphere, but it is SOOO relaxing (unlike the parks).

If you are an early riser, go walk around the ship. I got some great photos of the ship with NO ONE around....it's just peaceful and beautiful.

I am excited to check out all the new things on the Fantasy that the Wonder and Magic don't have (like the Aqua Duck!)

Welcome aboard....

Hi there - we live in East Granby...right near the airport. Where are you????

Wow you sure are close to the airport, we are in Southington. Who knows we might be on one of the same flights when it comes time. We use Southwest most of the time.

We just came back from the Disney Wonder last week in Alaska.....what a trip!! I never thought I would like to cruise north but I would do it again in a heart beat, maybe in a few years.
We booked another cruise while on aboard for April on the Magic gotta love that 10% discount, if all works out next year we will have cruise aboard all four ships at the end of this one:cool1:
