September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

I am only slightly disappointed that Its Tough to be a Bug will be closed... we usually see it, but am not fretting that have to miss it.
My very 1st trip to WDW was back in 77 (only MK existed) and the 3 rides that were most memorable to me were Dumbo, Haunted Mansion, and Toad's Wild Ride. When we were planning our 1st adult trip to the full WDW experience back in 2007... I knew I wasn't gonna be able to ride Dumbo (personal reasons), found out that Toad's Wild Ride had been closed, and the Haunted Mansion was closed for refurbishment... talk about disappointed!!!!
On the same trip... my 1st time to Epcot.. Spaceship Earth was closed!

Last year we went to DHS just days before Star Tours closed... glad to get to ride the new version this year.
As for Dinosaur... I love that ride! Can't wait to ride it again this year...
I purchased the ride pic for it... couldn't pass it up... can you see why?

I'm one of those annoying constant resort changers now, LMAO! I changed our reservation to the Carribean Beach Resort. We're Poly faithful, but I couldn't swing it this trip as there were no rooms left with the military discount. I figured the tropical theme at the CBR will ease our pain a bit, plus the pool looks amazing. I figure if the bus service really is as bad as people complain about, we'll just take a cab, we're only there for 4 days.

I have you changed on the first post. I totally understand about not being able to swing a deluxe. That's the same reason we had to cancel our AKL nights. You are right, CBR's pool looks awesome!

I'm sad about It's Tough to be a Bug being closed while we're there. It's our DS first trip to Disney and I wanted him to experience it. DH said he won't miss it, but for some reason, it is a favorite of mine. Oh well, could be worse. One time when we went RnRC was down for referb. I REALLY missed that!

I would love to say ahead of time that I'm sorry for the extra work, L-Harper! But, I'm not at all sorry to say that our vacation is back on! We received what could only be equated as one of God's many miracles with our sudden situation, and the problem has basically resolved itself! So we are back on Pop from the 24th-1st. :yay: This week has been an emotional roller coaster, but I am definitely riding high right now. Good to see you all again so soon!::grouphug:: I even made it back for the 100 day mark tomorrow. Hopefully, everything else will be smooth from here on in. I'm very low maintenance; I don't like nasty surprises.

So happy your vacation is back on!! Keeping happy thoughts coming your way!

yay SillyLily!!!! :banana::banana:

Marblies - Only 75 pages? Sheesh, what about the first 250? :snooty:
Kidding! Welcome!

I am bummed about tough to be a bug. Glad primeval whirl will be back up by the time we get there, the kids love that one (and me too :) )

I'm bummed about Its tough to be a Bug! Every trip during our AK day we eat lunch at Flametree BBQ, grab our dessert and head toward the Tree of Life, we eat and look at the tree as we get in line. Great way to get some air conditioning and let lunch settle. Good thing we were planning on trying the Nemo musical this year! Also if I never go on primeval whirl again it would be too soon. Went on it with my boyfriend and nephew two years ago and the wait was about 20-30 minutes longer than approximately listed, and the air was not moving in the que at all...and the ride was so jerky and lack luster. To each their own.

Thanks for the heads up about the hour changes and fantasmic additions. Double checked all the hours for the parks during our stay and may change some of our ressies to a bit later now that some of the parks are open a bit later!

Just stopping in to say HI!!! :wave2: We have been busy here. Yesterday sent DD(10) off to church camp for the weekend to the Islands(Kelley's), then DD(7) and I hit a few rides at Cedar Point and then to Soak City for some waterpark fun.....my legs gotta bit red but they haven't seen much sun this summer with me working. Then we had a Kid Shine production at church. Today I think DD(7) and I will hit some Garage Sales.... DD loves going looking for treasures. Many errands & Then a bonfire tonight with our friends.

I am excited we are in double digits. It will be Sept before we know it. I am hoping to finish my sewing projects once the kids go back to school.

Sillylily---so glad to here ur still going!!:jumping1: I see :drinking1 in our future!!

Its a beautiful summer day here in Seattle, 60 and pouring rain, LOL. I'm looking at pics of the Caribbean Beach Resort and dreaming of white sand and hammocks! :thumbsup2
