September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

Never heard of it. Is it a chain or just one? We have a local amusement park and a 6 flags not far off in Mass., we don't go often.

No it's NOT a chain per say. It's the top park in the Cedar Fair Co...which some of our other parks are Dorney in PA, Michigan Adventure, Kings Island, Knott's Berry Farm(CA), Carowinds, Kings Dominion, Valleyfair, Worlds & Oceans of Fun, California's Great America, and more. But Cedar Point is the where all the coorporate offices are and the main hub. It's only THE BEST amusement park. If your a coaster person you would have heard of it!! I am such a coaster person!!!

I live like 30 min from there and I have a season pass and go allllll the time. Its the roller coaster capital of the world. Its amazing how many coasters they have and they are always adding more. Its amazing and I think everyone should experience it once in their lifetime.

Just paid off our vacation this morning, both the Disney and Cruise portions!

It's getting close!! A little over 100 days before we leave!!:banana::banana:

Good for you!!! We paid ours off last week but we only had a balance left of 10.00. After we switched to the free dining from the kids promo.

You can use it almost anywhere's. You can have it applied to your bill at the resort (if you charge things to your room) you can use it at food vendor's, resort CS locations, resort stores or table service loocations. When the waiter/waitress brings you your bill, it will show food amounts ( and 0.00 if on dining plan) and tip amounts. You would just give them your rewards card, with the written in tip and have them charge the card. I believe the only places you can't use it are places not owned by WDW, so like T-rex, Planet hollywood ect.

And don't forgot if you use your DV to purchase items at the stores, many of them offer a 10% discount. In 09 the World of Disney Store in DTD told us, all "Disney" stores would offer us the 10% as long as we used our visa for the purchase. I know this included main st emporium, mouse gears, and the other two twin epcot shops I don't remember the ones in the other 2 parks, sorry :confused3

goodluck! We have about 110 Disney Dollars too!

Thanks! That's exactly what I wanted to know! We should have just enough to cover some shopping and most of our tips by the time we leave. I've been using the card for everything and deducting it from my checkbook like it's my debit card. Then I just pay it off on payday. DH has gotten into the spirit of the thing too and is coming to me for my card when he needs to make a purchase and then he gives me a check for what he spent to pay off the card! LOl. He doesn't like to admit it but he *loves* disney!

Yes I forgot to add my dates. We are going to Disney World September 20-27 and staying at CBR for my 35th birthday.

Hi everyone. We are in for the World in Sept also.
We are going from Sept 4th thru the 11th. We are surprising my daughter with the trip for her 4th B-day.princess: It will also be my son's 1st Disney trip!
I can't wait!!!! We lucked out with it. My parents are members of a timeshare company that is a partner with the DVC so they are gifting me one of their weeks and we exchanged it for a week at the Wilderness Lodge Villas. If they didn't do that for us there was no way we would be going. It's been almost 3 years since we've been and I'm going thru withdrawl.

Hoping it's not too late to join the "club"!!
We will be traveling September 25-30th and staying at POR.
It's the girls first Disney Trip and also a suprise!!!
We are so ready for it to be here!!!!

Just booked our mommy/daughter trip and flights for Sept. 19-24 at Pop Century!!!!! :cool1::banana::yay::woohoo:

Then I realized it's Friday the 13th! I'm already a nervous wreck as it is! :scared:

Oh well! Now off to book my ADR's! :cloud9:

I will be going Sept 8-18 staying at POFQ with my parents and celebrating my graduation from college!!! =):dance3:

I'm back again, you can update me to September 27th-October 4th at Port Orleans Riverside for our honeymoon, wheee!

I am so excited, I booked some ADRs because sine it's our honeymoon I think we should eat at some nice places. I'm trying to talk DF into doing Discovery Cove or the Dolphin encounter at EPCOT. I can dream, lol.

Hoping we can do MNSSHP on the 30th!

We're going Sept. 24-Oct 1. We're staying off site. I'll be taking my daughter to MNSSHP on the 27th. Have to orders tickets for it still. My DH will stay back at the condo with the baby during that time.

Could someone plllleeease put me on a list.. lol. the "official" thread didn't list me either.. I think I have already posted this in here someplace, but just in case I am imagining things, here it is again. :rotfl:

We just booked a few weeks ago for September 16-24 at Pop Century! I have been stalking the boards ever since and finally decided to take the plunge and register :goodvibes This will be our families first trip! I went with my parents when I was 13 and again with my senior class, but DH has never been and I am so excited to be taking our three cuties!!

:cheer2: WOW!!! There are lots of new people. Yay!!! :welcome: to our group! It is never too late to join. I have all of you added to the first post! :dance3:

I'm sorry it took me this long to add all of you. Usually I'm much more on top of it, but this thing called life has gotten in my way lately. :lmao:

I know, that is so strange! I keep seeing new people post on that thread all the time and the OP has never popped back into the thread :confused3

So glad that L-Harper keeps this thread updated! Thanks L-Harper! :flower3:

Aww, thank you! :goodvibes I try, I feel like I'd be letting all of you down if I didn't follow through until we all go in September!

113 more days for me!!! :yay: :woohoo: :dance3: :cool1: :cheer2:

:scared1: Have you *seen* the gas prices lately! :lmao:

Actually, I want DH to get his own Disney account! I keep hearing about offers with points to start off with...and he's got fab credit! He's willing, but the offer hasn't come in yet.

We tend to keep our finances separate. He pays some bills, I pay some bills. I like not having anyone looking over my shoulder if I decide to spend $15 on lipstick...okay it's more likely to be $15 on an audiobook, but still! :rolleyes1

I love the disney reward dollars though. They are pretty easy to understand and will pay for almost all of the out of pocket expenses we are likely to encounter. (AND, because it's Disney, the DH doesn't object! )

I'm having a dilemma... :confused3 I am rethinking our dinner for the night we arrive. We're currently booked for Chef Mickey's, but now I'm thinking about Cinderella's Royal Table. I checked and they still have ADRs available. Is CRT worth the 2 TS credits or should we just stick with Chef Mickey's? I want to start our trip off with a bang! I'm worried about over doing it though and the rest of our trip not standing up to our first day. Help! :scared1:

What time do you arrive? Were you planning on going to a park on arrival day? I know last year we got in around noon, so we went to MK...but this year we are taking a later flight...so no park the first day for us. So...that might make a difference for you.

We are eating at CRT for the first time this trip, so I can't really let you know if it is worth the 2 TS credits or not. I think it would be a magical way to start your trip!!!

But if you aren't planning on doing anything else in the park but go to CRT I would just stick with Chef Mickey's. You will meet the Fab Five...and you get great views of Magic Kingdom...

Not sure if that helps or not...I tend to be a fence sitter...always seeing the pros and cons of BOTH sides! Ha!
