Morning all! Another day has come and gone! We are at the 50 day mark! It will be here before we even know it.
Have a great day everyone!!!! :)

Yawn, stretch...morning all!

and idea where I can find a countdown clock that goes by the number of days instead of weeks? I like my ticker but my girls want to know how many days! I have no flipping idea! :lmao:

If you use the "my vacation" thing on the Disney site, it tells you how many days. It's easier than trying to count.

PoohBear, I'll probably see you when you come in for breakfast. I'm sure 40 minutes won't be quite enough time for my husband to finish eating. It is all you can eat. My son is very excited by the thought of the all you can eat bacon and sausage.

There's a nice site that has an actual Mickey ticker, BUT it has a forbidden word- I guess the Dis boards are afraid of competition?

i'm a september Poper!!! arriving on 9/21 and will be sad to checkout on the 27th!!
look out pop here i come!!

That is what I get for complaining. I now have a not so fun way to celebrate my birthday. I am headed to Ohio for a funeral. A couple of long time friends, she used to babysit for me, were in a car wreck. The husband did not survive. The wife was scheduled for a mastectomy today before all this happened. They were such a loving couple. It is heartbreaking.

ANTSS2001, feel free to use my 'plenty nine' for as many decades as you wish. :)

 I am very sorry. I hope things start to look up for you. I understand how your feeling I have had 6 people that I know and that I was close with pass in the last month one of which was my grandma so my deepest thoughts and prayers go out to your family and theirs.

Does she know when she will have her mastectomy now that has gotten to be so stressful for her on top of everything.

What part of Ohio are you coming to? I live in the Akron area.

You guyssssssssss ! ! !! ! !

Tomorrow is 48 days from September 12th!!! :cool1:

Morning all ! ! !

48 days from September 12th, folks! :woohoo:

Im so effing annoyed/upset/frustrated!!! I just want a great pair of shoes, that dont make my feet ache, for September. All you youngin's out there - take care of your feet. Its the years of abuse and waitressing and bartending in UNsupportive shoes that have made them so sensitive. :guilty: Ill be 34 in August, and my feet THROB at Disney.

Anyways - before I went off on my foot health tangent.... I bought these adorable Birkenstocks:

I had read how wonderful and how they mold to your feet and yadda yadda yadda.

They hurt. They hurt bad. I think I should have gotten wide. They hurt. They rub. They ache. Im returning them. UGH! I might just end up with another pair of Crocs. :confused3

What do YOU guys wear for park touring?

I am so with you Cat I can't find anything to wear either so that my feet and legs won't hurt. I just tried these crocs everyone has been raving about and WOW they are wonderful but the down side is my knees hurt a little now but I can handle that.

Have you tried any inserts?

You are not old I am 40 and 34 isn't old at all gal.

I hate to say it- but I bought Crocs for me and my little sister (she's 19 with a bad back ALREADY). That's one reason why I've been trying to lose weight, actually- I figured the less I weigh, the less my back will hurt. (My back hurts a lot ever since my pregnancy with my toddler- eck!).

I feel like the last three years since our wedding has really aged me- my back hurts, right now my ankle hurts from working out, etc :S

Morning all!
Cat - I love Birks, but they take awhile to break in. Once you break them in, they are awesome! They really do mold to your foot unlike any other shoe I have tried. I have a pair that I love, but I think they are too narrow so they just aren't as comfy. But I have worn Birks for years and years and never had any problems. You may want to also look at Birkis. I have several of those too and love them. Tevas are another comfy shoe, so are Merrills. Last year I wore a variety of shoes. I found the regular Crocs make my feet look too big and i feel clunky in them even though they are comfortable as all get out. I wore the Croc flip flops this summer to an amusement park and had no foot issues. I like my ADIDAS sneaks too, but in FL with the wet rides, walking around with wet sneakers grosses me out... Don't give up on Birks. But make sure they are wide enopugh for your feet. Then wear them a lot to break them in really good! :thumbsup2

Last year, I had crocs, well they died at the end of the trip. I can no longer wear them as I slide in them, and have almost fallen about 10 times. This year I went to DSW and bought a pair of Rocket Dog(my new favorite brand) tennis shoes and a pair of those cute new canvas shoes, I also have a pair of Teva's but they can't be worn in rain as they feel horrible when they get wet. I also went to Old Navy and bought 4 pairs of flip flops, $2 a pair. I've got plenty of shoes now to start breaking in for my trip in 45 days.

Now, I'm calling Disney to put in my final payment.

I have high arches so I have a hard time with shoes too. New Balance are wonderful for me in the fall winter. In the warmer months and for Disney the only shoe that feels great are my Teva's (I think they are terra fi) I wear them all day and my feet feel good at the end of the day. I don't have the problem when they are wet as someone else mentioned. I wonder if different Teva's are not good when wet. I wear them on the water rides and in the rain and don't slide or squish. My son loves his crocs at Disney but when wet they are dangerous. I love my crocs too but haven't tried them at Disney because they make my feet sweat. There are lots of threads on good park shoes but what works for one doesn't always work for others. I have a pair of berks and my feet hurt really bad after just an hour in mine and lots of people love them.
