Thank-you Hygiene, Scott and Winotracy for your words. I'm still sad not to be doing the 11 day :sad1: . By booking the 9/23 7 day, my brother-in-law's kids can stay in school one more week before the cruise. This is important to them because they want to be able to make friendships at their new school before taking off for two weeks of vacation. This also gives them more days at WDW which they have NEVER  been to before. We have invited them along on each time we have gone to WDW and they have had all the excuses you can imagine. What it came down to though, was they didn't realize how much they would like it. They finally tried out DL in CA for a few days back in May '05 and now they are more willing. I think they have been bitten by the "mickey bug". Now to get them bitten by the DCL bug.

My concern about the 7 day, is that there is less time for rerouting around hurricanes. I wasn't worried about the 11 day, so much more wiggle room there. I don't really care about the ports that much though, just get me on the ship! My last two cruises were to AMAZING ports but I missed my "mickey boat". You all know what I mean.

I'm going to miss this thread and all you fun folks. This is the first time I have ever had to cancel a cruise, I am the "follow-through" type. Have a wonderful trip all :sunny: !

Quick question for a cruise that we may sign up for here in the future.

What is the best category 9 stateroom you have stayed in?
What is the best category 6 stateroom you have stayed in?

I know there are reports and what not, just looking for your personal opinion.

Also wanted to see if our Southern Carribean sign was back!!

That didn't work :furious:

What are we doing wrong?? :confused3

You have a space where the [/IMG] is at the end. Remove the space before the ] and you'll be ok. Hope that helps!!

Would this be a bad time to say that it looks like Mom and I will also be cancelling our cruise reservation??????

I'm less than pleased about this....I don't approve. You will have one sad little boy on your hands, hope you can live with that. (is the guilt working?)

Maybe since you are considering going around Christmas- you should consider staying until the half marathon? First weekend in January, I believe the 6 or 7th? If you are not going to see us on the cruise- you should come walk with us at the half marathon....only seems fair to me.

If I Was going to stay in a cat 9 .. Not a big fan of Deck 2 .
Would rather stay in Cat 11 deck 7.. Just my thoughts..

But we did stay in 2080 once.
Was ok..

Celeste...I'm soooooo sorry but one only has so many vacation days and I wanted to do something special for Mom for Christmas (you just never know how many more there will be...)and I thought there would be nothing better than Christmas in WDW....now about the half-marathon....maybe in 2008!!!

So sorry Noah is sad....but he has his Canadian coins to remember us by!!!

Elaine! I'm soooo sad you won't be making it! But I do understand.

We are going through some major changes on our end, and one caused a bit of a scare, with regards to the cruise.

Where to start? We've rented the same house for the past 8 years - ever since we got married. But, the owners just decided to sell it, so we have to move. We looked around a lot, and settled on an apartment near our store. Hoping to only be there for a year, and then finally purchase our own place.

So, at the same time, I've been interviewing for a new job. To be honest, I got tired of the travel and there wasn't much in the way of growth opportunities for me, had I stayed.

So Tuesday, I get a call with an offer. Fantastic opportunity - great growth potential, and some siginificant financial upside. :cool1: But, there's a problem. I have two trips scheduled this year - Tokyo (and TDL) in early March, plus the 11-night cruise.

Thankfully, the new company is willing to let me have that time off (as paid vacation time no less), so I still get to do both!!!

But, the new job is near LAX - a nightmare commute from where our store is. So, 10 days before we have to physically move, we start looking for a different place to go. Found a *tiny* house for rent yesterday albeit functional, but there were two people ahead of us for it. Got a call a few minutes ago, and thankfully, it is ours!

So, now to finish packing, move the house, and then start a new job a week later, and go to Tokyo two weeks after that.

So, that's the drama here.

See, who says Athen's West is good for nothing but hummus, kabobs, and gyros :stir:
Glad you and Adrienne got the house you wanted. Call us if you need anything.

Vicki

PS - BTW, we're busy THAT weekend :rotfl2:

TONY! That's some drama! MAJOR BIG TIME! :faint:

So glad things worked out for you. If we lived closer we'd be there to help pack boxes. We're good at packing... it's the unpacking we have trouble with (and a whole garage full of things from both our homes - pre marriage days!) :lmao:

Best of everything with your new job! They are very fortunate to have you!

When I hear the words “Tropical Depression” I always think it is a description of the way I feel in the middle of Winter.

Tony glad to hear things are working out. New Job, KEWL. Sounds like they like to take care of their employees, that is a good thing. Hey if it doesn’t work out I will sell ya our place in WY in 68 weeks. It comes with a snowblower, and several winter coats, hats and a complete winter glove collection. Might even toss in a scarf and a ice scraper for the car windshield. LOL

Thanks Scott. Hmm... since your place isn't at the family ranch in Gooseberry Creek, I think we'll pass on that. Snow blowers!

Amazing how you are busy that weekend Vicki! I think Steve's just feeling lazy again... ;)

Georgie - We won't be unpacking much. Most everything is going straight into the garage. We hope to buy a house in the next year or so, so there is no point in unpacking everything, then repacking....

No trips here either. Kinda depressing. May have to change that.

Have a great time at the concert! I'm really jealous!

Got really busy this week so I'm just starting the newsletter now :confused3 I'm hoping to have it to everyone by this afternoon.

Have a great Saturday everyone!
