Well... I've probably done worse. BUT it should be something we generally frown upon. My brother taught me thatg you never know when a tire might blow out or someone else will committ an error and inadvertantly threaten you on the road. And God knows I've made a few mistakes that others (fortunately) were alert for. I'm not perfect but I have never hit another moving car for an insurance claim or official report.

SO I'm gonna predict that some time after midnite you're gonna get flashed 9 fingers with a yelp... "9 ta GO!!!!"

Well my DH called me earlier this week and wanted to know when we were going on vacation so he could tell his boss!

You were in Salt Lake? I could have given you my hairdresser!
:lmao: :lmao: Our boss has known since the day we booked! We tend to plan WAY ahead for things.

I was just passin' through Salt Lake. It was very late too! My grandmother (who is very savvy at the ripe ol age of 75) suggested her hairdresser at a place in Montgomery, AL called Olivia Salon. I'm getting a few spa treatments as well on thursday next week! :thumbsup2 Thanks anyway though!

   Congrats on the new Grandbaby! Hope all is well! :wizard:

We are in Portland! What a beautiful city! I drove through the Columbia River Gorge with the windows down! It was awesome, but a little chilly at 67 degrees.
You all know what this means........ party: party: party: :tinker: We are OFFICIALLY headed home as of 8pm Portland time tonight! Every mile we run from Portland East is just one more mile to vacation! A quick stop in Miami and then straight to the house!   I'm so excited I can't contain myself! The good thing is that now the miles seem to be BREEZING by! I drove from Hermiston, OR to Portland (about 187 miles) and it was so pretty I never even paid attention to the time! Of couse after the cruise time is just gonna drag on and on and on.....But who cares?!? I'm going on an 11 day Disney Cruise in 9 days

Thanks Tracy!!

Okay...now I need what to make this work?? Other than downloading onto my computers...a headset w/a mic? :confused3

Laurie,

You can pick up the headset /w mic at Walmart for about $20.00. The old mic I had wasn't working well with Skype but the new one seems to work fine. :confused3 If you get it set up and need to make a test call we are listed with Skype as "pahrumppeople" And are usually on in the evening (Eastern time).

Have to share this news with everyone

I was sweating it out that my grandbaby was going to be born while I was on the cruise.

She was due on October 13th, so I thought I would be safe

WELL - she was born this morning by emergency C section - 5 weeks early

a little girl, ABBYGAIL - 5 lbs. 14 oz.

Now I can cruise knowing I won't miss her birth.

What "Wonder" ful news! Congratulations! :cloud9:

first timers Alex and Carolyn are double dipping. Don't know about anyone else. Bill was wondering if anyone would be doing what we are doing. I said I don't know, but I would think we are the only ones....

Tomorrow at this time we will be leaving for the airport :Pinkbounc  :cheer2: :Pinkbounc  :cheer2:

Only ONE DAY LEFT :thumbsup2 :cool1: :thumbsup2

Oops....

... With a week before the sailing I guess you're off on other travel. I have not been reading everything posted too closely and I had assumed you were lucky in going in early - fun in the sun - time at WDW and other diversions.

Oh well...

This means you CAN give Scott a run for posting total leadership in the next few days.... maybe, if desired  .

I've never had the pleasure of visiting Portland yet. Seattle and points north and east, yes. SO - one day I'll get a chance to see what you folks are enjoyin' today!

Pleasant travels homeward!

Ohhhh....

How lucky! .... I thought we had some folks on the 10 + 11 day sailings... but I guess I don't catch everything said here.... like everyone else I skim too... (mostly I skim the short postings - I like substance). LOL! Just kidding...

What I'm REALLY saying... I wish I were doing a back to back cruise. That's something my spouse and I have never done before. And it sounds like fun. Especially with swappin' ships an' all! Shoot, the only port repested is St Thomas and CC too! And St Thomas is one of 2 favorite ports for my spouse and I in the Carib.

Oh well... we'll just have to daydream about doing a back to back some time in the future....

Thanks for the clearification..... :thumbsup2

Does anyone know if any of the ports have a wireless internet connection? Or any of the coffee shops or stores near the ship port offer WIFI? I read where they are not offering the unlimited internet on the
ship :confused3 :confused3 We are taking our lap top so I can be in contact with the young lady running my store, plus I can check my accounts to make sure she is posting everything. I thought about skype, but that seems like it would cost more, (I talk more than I type) :rotfl: :rotfl: We have been to several ports, but have never taken a lap top.

I'm sure you'll get opportunities ashore - but for business nothing beats the convenience of buying time on the ship and just doing it there. Time ashore is for FUN and Exploration, eh? On the ship you're gonna have down time. OTHERWISE, why not get a calling card and just ring the store? This would ensure more thought-put and allow more precision - potentially.

Either way - you have a variety of methods to communicate efficiently at your disposal. Plus a few which are a tad bit inefficient too... like calling FROM the ship - or hopping on a plane for home from say, St Kitts, to resolve an urgent issue. NOW THAT would be pretty inefficient - but likely very effective.
