In case anybody is interested, the Jolly Roger pirate excurions is not available on the 11 day. Only the 10 day. :confused3 Oh well back to the drawing board.
How did you find this out? This was on our list. Now maybe we will have to do the one in St. Lucia. Or are they any other pirate excursions at the other ports?
If we do the St Lucia pirates, then we will have to pass on the canopy. Arrgghh! pirate:

Do let us know how the research goes.
More knowledge. More confusion.
So far...
St. Thomas- just check out the island on our own/no formal excursion
St. Lucia - Canopy tour or Pirate ship excursion
Barbados -still deciding. Probably the Island Drive Adventure.
St. Kitts - :confused3
Antigua - :confused3

We still have a week. A little more research. What trips me up at B&N is the starbucks coffee and the desserts. Can't keep my mind on business.

OBW, when we were in B&N, they had a display of pirate books. No Pirates of the Caribbean books yet. But they did have the Jolly Mon Book. :)
I'm sure that Disney will have plenty of tie-ins with the movie.

1st of all I am not sure about St. Lucia. I found out about Barbados because I called a CM today to see what time the tour was to plan other adventures as well. That is when I received the BAD news. Kinda throws a monkey wrench into everything.

Know what you mean about B&N. I have been going to Borders to do my research. I have been trying to resist the temptations. :surfweb: Figure that is one more DOD I can have. Trying to teach Heather how to budget so I might as well practice what I preach. :teacher:

Barbados is the island that has been tripping me up. I have been doing so much research I think I have been overwhelming myslef. But it may have paid off. Found a tour company that offers a sample of all there is to see and do.

The only thing missing is the Mount Gay Rum distillery. :guilty: although if there are enough of us on the tour we might be able to bribe. :wizard:
I sent the tour company a message so we shall see what comes of it.

Any luck ?
Peter

Peter, we will look forward to cocktails in the Walt Suite. How nice of you to offer. I believe the family that had canceled so the last I heard is it is available.

Thanks for the PM. I sent a message regarding the Palo Grou Brunch so we shall see what happens. I requested availability for Tuesday the 19th or the following week on the 25th. I am also pursing another avenue of obtaining a contact as well. Although I have never seen it, I believe the room seats about 15. In order to book it I have heard I will need to provide confirmation numbers for all interested.

I will let everyone know when I hear something.

Brandy, Steve, Sandy, Joe and Trae - so sorry you will not be joining us but I understand. At least you will still be able to enjoy the 10 night. Have a GREAT vacation.

Sorry all for so many posts in a row. Just got Heather in bed and the web is back up.

Good Night for now.

Stephen and I would definiely be interested in a brunch get together, if there's room for us. I'll be online bright and early at midnight on 6/19 to book our ressies. At least now I know what days to shoot for.

Mount Gay is in the middle of Barbados, but about 1/2 mile from the cruise terminal is the Malibu visitor's center. Yes, Malibu rum  Regardless of what we do for an excursion, I WILL get over there before we leave :cheer2:

Was that Lou and his family? That's too bad.

I will be doing exactly that glindamood. I'll bring printed copies with me that will be available onboard.

A lot of people either don't know their staterooms yet (guarantees), or don't want them posted for security reasons. I have a few of those that I have not posted. As we get closer, I will be trying to run those down as well.

Also guys..don't forget to put a little note or something with your gift stating who it is from!

Bummer about the pirate cruise. I really wanted to take it but they restrict the age to 5 and Hailey will not be 3 yet. She love Pirates and would love the pirate ship, so sad! When I went to graduation and put my cap and gown on, she said Mommy you look like a pirate and started singing Yo-Ho!

Tracy, I am right there with you at the Malibu rum distillery. We have to go there, it will ease the pain from missing Cabo Wabo in Cabo last year on the repo home.....Watch, I have officialy jinxed us now.... I will get my boat drink, I will get my boat drink :rotfl2:

We are officially in the double digits! How exciting.

I am going to be bringing stateroom gifts for everyone, if I can get my act together. I know it's been posted, but can someone tell me the address/proceudre to ship to the port for our cruise..

Hope everyone is doing well today. It is DH birthday today and we are going to a lecture by Neil Armstrong, should be fun..... Grandma has Hailey tonight...

Can't wait to meet everyone,
Bernadette

Bernadette,

don't you go jinxing us! :lmao:

The information on how to send stuff to the ship is in the April newsletter. It's also posted on the thread sometime in March.

Harry in Michigan and I, as well as our friends Vanessa and Dick, are also booked for SNUBA on St Thomas at 10 am. Our booking includes passes to Coral World, too. We booked through http://www.visnuba.com/ and it looks like shoretrips is charging $14pp more for the same thing. Just thought I should let you know in case you want to cancel and rebook directly.

In St. Lucia, the four of us are planning to do the Pirate Extravaganza (through DCL) on the Brig Unicorn, although I'm having second thoughts after reading Linda's comment that it is "fun for kids"! (We won't have any kids with us.)

In Barbados, we are going to sign up for the 5 hour Silver Moon catamaran, snorkeling, swim with turtles tour, which is highly praised on cruisecritic.com.

On Antigua, we will probably go with a private tour (considering a couple of differenct operators) that will drop us at a beach for a couple hours after touring the island. If anyone is interested in joining us, let me know. From what I've read, the driver will take those who don't want to go to the beach back to the ship immediately after the tour and he will return to the beach to pick up those who choose to do that and return them to the ship later.

On St. Kitts, we are considering the scenic railway excursion through Disney, although I've been reading that the train often has problems, so we may reconsider and do something else. Not sure just what, yet.

On Castaway Cay, I plan to do the new sting ray excursion -- it wasn't there last time I was!

BethE

Beth-the pirate excursion was a blast for the adults too! So be sure to go. There were a lot of us from the Disboards on and we had a great time. The tour operators were awesome!

We were able to do the sting ray excursion on CC before it opened. We were the only family onboard the DVC owner's cruise last year that got to try it out. You will love it. Very educational too. The actual CM's running it are from Epcot! Also, anyone into GEO caching there is a hidden cache near the sting ray excursion hidden on the beach!

Linda

It looks like I am officially organizing the Palo group brunch. I need to have 12-14 names and confirmation numbers. It is a first come first serve basis so I want to get the list in as soon as possible. I have requested the first date of Tuesday Sept. 19. Second request is Monday September 25.

If we get more than 15, then I can try for two reservations.

We will not be confirmed until we are 30 days out. Of course as fast as time is flying - that will be here all too soon.

Please send me a PM with your names and confirmation numbers.

Thanks,

Susan

Hey Peter, there are 875 staterooms, so if 300 are available that would mean 575 have been booked. 83 cabin listed on the roster, so we are almost 14% to 15% of the ship.

I agree! We were also able to do it before it opened on the Panama Canal cruise (our prize for the Tom McAlpin question rather than the infamous t-shirts :rotfl2: ). It was great! We've never been to Stingray City so I have nothing to compare it to, but it was nice to have the stingrays brought up to a comfortable height.

Ok, we are going! I've been back and forth about whether to cancel, b/c of our beach house purchase, but since we had already paid the deposit, and the fact that all of our other cruises weree on the Magic, it just seemed crazy not to go ahead and go. lol. Now I feel like i'm so behind in planning excursions, etc. Glad you guys have been doing the research and posting what will be fun. Well, we can't wait to see everyone, and can't wait to finally be on the Disney Wonder.
