Hey Carol,

When is your surgery?

pahrumpgirl said:
Just thought I would let everyone know that I will be going in for surgery on May 8th. :sad1: :sad2: Apparently I have a pinched nerve that is affecting my right arm and causing it to hurt all the time. Never having had surgery before I have no idea how long I will be laid up. I have been told anywhere from two to six weeks. For those of you who are new or those of you who aren't and would like one, I am making "Fish Extenders" up ahead. That way if you don't get me PM'd with a request before my surgery I will still be able to get one out to you. :) It would help though if you could get your requests in fairly quick. For those of you who do not know what a "Fish Extender" is Winotracy had a couple of articles in the newsletter. Maybe she could post a picture here of the ones that I am making.

Carol

Suzie,
Welcome aboard! We're so glad to have you and your family. I'm sorry you've had such profound loss. I'm sending you a group hug: :grouphug: .

The people on this cruise are so wonderful. I thought I'd feel a little left out since some of them had cruised together already but before I knew it, they had me talking my DH into the "Grass Skirt" frat!! party:

In fact, I think I'll send them a group hug! :grouphug:

God bless y'all (yes, I'm from the south!) and I pray for the day when your tears are replaced with wonderful memories.

Denise

THE GRASS SKIRT FRATERNITY = Scott H. More info Here !! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Hi Y'all.....We are in!!

Brian (DH), Suzie (me!), Billy (DS 12), Aussie (DS 10), Bretty (DS 8) we are from London, KY!

I reserved the cruise last year about a month after it was released, but wasn't quite sure if we were going to take it.....but after I lost my Dad 7 weeks ago and my husband lost his Mom 3 weeks ago it just proves life is too short. Y'all don't realize how you all saved me!! I was very close to my Dad, and couldn't sleep for weeks, I would read this thread at night when I couldn't sleep, and it really helped. Such wonderful fun loving people are going on this cruise....it made me laugh to think about my husband in a grass skirt!!!

So we are defintely in and if you need any help just let me know!!

Thanks again,
Suzie

Boy Suzie. I'll be glad to meet ya! You're right, life is too short. Glad you guys will be joining us. :yay: And KY has some funny town names. My Sister-In-Law lives in LEBANON, Ky. :lmao: Ha ha.

My mother also battled stomach cancer a few years back. Unfortunately, or fortunately it wasn't a long battle. I know what you are dealing with. Our hopes and prayers . . . . . .

Now, I missed this "meeting". Was at the sailway...solo. Then Scott went and got his. Then I didn't feel quite so bad.

Hmmmm. Where's Peter's skirt? :confused3

KY does have some funny town names. People names too. On our last trip through KY, we met a man named BUTTER. :confused3 Great story behind it.

Happy Birthday Dan, Have a good one.

Tracy, did you get the email I forwarded to you?

Bob, KEWL looking smiley dudes. Yes I think we need to do the sailaway and tropical night as designated Grass skirt events.

Not sleeping well last night so might as well get going on the day.

Scott, yes, I did get the e-mail. Thanks!

Don't forget, if you want to get a letter to Tom in the next newsletter (or your responses), have it to me by May 3. And anyone planning anything with updates, please let me know by May 4. Otherwise, I will summarize the things and events based on what has been posted previously.

Bob, I love the smiley!! I still can't convince Bill to wear a grass skirt, but I keep telling him that he will. Eventually it will sink in.

Tracy

P.S. Did I mention how sorry I was that I forgot to put Dan's birthday in the newsletter this month? :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: Please forgive me Dan :confused3

Anyone notice that the Category 12 Guarantees (GTY) are now available to book again. Does anyone think its worth down grading to a 12 from a Category 11 in hopes of maybe getting a visit from the upgrade fairy :wizard:

WE are first time Disney Cruisers, just wondering what are chances are of getting a upgrade since there are only 12 or 13 Category 12 cabins anyway.

I would think by this time all the 12's would have been gone anyway and that Disney just put back on the Category 12 GTY just to sell the ship out.

Does anyone know that if they lower prices on the different Categories that they would honor it without making you cancel and rebook at the cheaper prices.

Like I said above we are first timer disney cruisers and aren't sure what their policies are on cases like this.

I know how some other cruiselines handle it but not Disney. Didn't ask the agency yet who we booked with just wondered what other on here know first.

There is no rhyme of reason to the upgrades on DCL. I know with other cruiselines they book the lower categories first and then many times upgrade those who booked first so they can charge others more for the same category and "give away/upgrade" to categories that aren't booking as much. I have heard that DCL books rooms with a view quicker than the inside cabins so it doesn't sound like it would happen the same as other cruiselines.

I don't know how the price difference would work because I've never seen the price go down.

P.S. Happy birthday DAN
