You look like Borg in that thing though.

A warm Borg. lol

Thanks guys, good photos by Lynn. That was an entrance to a cave, at about 70 feet. I went in to 90 feet. pretty KEWL.

I am now the proud owner of a mask, snorkel, turbo fins, & neoprene boots :cool1: Class room for SCUBA on Saturday, Pool dive on Sunday

BTW- due to my schedule and my need to complete my SCUBA certification, I will be unable to host a mid-West Dis meet over Memorial Day weekend. My family and I will be camping out by Pearl Lake (on the IL/WI state lines)that weekend- as I have my two open water dives that Saturday & Sunday of the holiday weekend. (the only time I can complete them between now & September without getting in the way of prior plans) If anyone is interested in camping with us, I'd be glad to forward the info and we could have a really informal meet there- but I will be spending a good portion of the day in the water. If you scuba- I hear the lake is a good spot for doing so.

Also- we will be going to the Tut exhibit on the Friday of the Memorial day weekend around 11 am if anyone wants to meet there. (in chicago)

Also- I will be in Anaheim the week before Memorial Day weekend for the conference if anyone wants to meet. I won't have any plans for the evenings, except for Wednesday, May 24th when the convention is renting Disney's California Adventure- and I am going home the following day.

The dry suit looks kewl! I am less than fond of the idea of a cold wet suit. I enjoyed reading the article! Does your underwater camera have a strobe flash on it?

Congrats on taking the plunge on diving! :thumbsup2 You'll have a blast - especially with all of the ports we're visiting. I'll be diving on only one day (have to keep DM happy) - haven't decided which port yet - probably St. Kitts since I haven't dove there before. Does anyone have plans yet for diving on the cruise?

I saw the Tut exhibit here in Ft. Lauderdale. It was awesome. I also saw the one years ago in San Francisco when I was a child (umm, before I was born, yep that's it, couldn't have been old enough to actually see it! :lmao: :lmao: ). It was interesting to see the difference. Enjoy!

Celeste, I have dove Pearl Lake many many years ago, You should have fun. I am ready for the camping season to start. Wish we were closer.

Yes the U/W camera has a strobe. It is Tetra 5050 housing with an Olympus C-5050 camera, and a YS - 90 strobe. We also have a smaller Reefmaster U/W digital.

Hey on your first night of class, tell your instructor there is no way you can dive if you have to wear that 3000 pound tank.

We have not decided on dive plans for this trip yet. we want to see the islands topside and U/W side. We will see.

I mentioned to Celeste that we have a few kayaks and may think about coming down for one of the days so if anyone wants to come have an informal meet, I'm up for it!

Otherwise, we can see what other weekend works in June or July. What does everyone think?

Hi Y'all.....We are in!!

Brian (DH), Suzie (me!), Billy (DS 12), Aussie (DS 10), Bretty (DS 8) we are from London, KY!

I reserved the cruise last year about a month after it was released, but wasn't quite sure if we were going to take it.....but after I lost my Dad 7 weeks ago and my husband lost his Mom 3 weeks ago it just proves life is too short. Y'all don't realize how you all saved me!! I was very close to my Dad, and couldn't sleep for weeks, I would read this thread at night when I couldn't sleep, and it really helped. Such wonderful fun loving people are going on this cruise....it made me laugh to think about my husband in a grass skirt!!!

So we are defintely in and if you need any help just let me know!!

Thanks again,
Suzie

Thank you to pahrumpgirl. Fabulous job.

Welcome Suzie and family. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. My mom was recently diagnosed with stomach cancer, and it has caused me to reevaluate so many things. You're all in my thoughts and prayers...and welcome aboard!

Hi.
Welcome aboard. :woohoo: :woohoo:

I have sent you a private message !!

Peter

:welcome: Suzie and family :welcome:

So sorry to hear about your DH's and your loses. :sad1: My DH lost his father the first part of last year and I lost my mother the last part so we know where you are coming from. This is a great group and I am sure we will all have a blast. I am pretty sure that Peter told you about getting a Fish Extender in his PM. If you would like one just let me know. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I saw the Tut Exhibit in New York the first time around. Since I have already told my age I guess it is a little hard to try and cover now. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao:

DisneyBlonde, glad you liked the extender. Can't wait to see how you decorate it. I have decided to wait until after my surgery to work out most of the details on the contest. It will give me something to do while I am recouperating. Any ideas are still more than welcome.

Carol

:welcome: Suzie! Great name. :teeth:

Sorry about your recent losses. Last year my DGM passed away in June. We had a cruise scheduled for September and it did my DM a world of good. I can only imagine how hard it is to lose a parent. I'm glad this crew could provide a bit of comic relief during the hard days - and I'm even more happy that you're coming with us! With this wild crowd you're bound to have fun.

Sweet Sue

Suzie,
Welcome aboard! We're so glad to have you and your family. I'm sorry you've had such profound loss. I'm sending you a group hug: :grouphug: .

The people on this cruise are so wonderful. I thought I'd feel a little left out since some of them had cruised together already but before I knew it, they had me talking my DH into the "Grass Skirt" frat!! party:

In fact, I think I'll send them a group hug! :grouphug:

God bless y'all (yes, I'm from the south!) and I pray for the day when your tears are replaced with wonderful memories.

Denise
