We just can't have this thread on the second page. I had to take time out from a lecture on the School Audit Manual to bump this thread up. :rotfl:

Please let it slip down again so I can take more time out to bump it up again. Please, please please . . . :rotfl2:

Thank you so much for such a great Welcome!! :sunny: Your thoughts and prayers are so appreciated!! I can't wait to meet y'all!! This really is a very "Kewl" group!!

DisneyBlonde my prayers are with your Mom, you and your family. Cancer is so wicked...I hope all goes well.

I had a "taste" of the cruise last night!! I really have not been cooking lately, and my boys are not too happy about it.... So I told them I would make them anything they wanted for dinner, well my husband piped up and said why don't you make something out of the new cookbook you just bought!! When we were in Hilton Head for our Spring Break we stopped at Disney Hilton Head and I bought "Cooking with Mickey & the Disney Chefs"

Guess What I made???....the Chocolate Souffle with Warm Vanilla Sauce from Palo...it was sooooo good!! I am definitely not the Gourmet Chef, but It wasn't really that hard to make!! My kids just loved it!! They are going to be bribing the Matire' D at Palo for Chocolate Souffle!!

Can someone explain to me how to highlight a previous post and put it in a new post....I have tried to figure it out but...... :badpc: Im going to try to put the "11 night..." in my sig line, I've got those instructions...Thanks Peter!!

Have a great rest of the day!! :cool1:

I think you want to click on QUOTE at the bottom of the message that you want to highlight... that will give you the whole message... you can then edit it by deleting what you don't want to copy... or just leave the whole thing... just remember to leave the bracketed word QUOTE at the begining and at the end... like this
then the message
I hope this helps

Did you say this is your first cruise ?

We went to Palo once or twice :lmao: Salvatorie added a small scoop of vanilla ice cream to the Souffle :woohoo: :woohoo:

Just go to Palo and Tell them you would like a couple for the kids TO GO.
should be no problem..
Or if You have a real good Head Server, you could arrange for him to surprise the kids at dinner one night with the desert.. :wizard:

Our head server delivered those souflees at our regular dinner. :thumbsup2 You have to give them 20 minutes notice though. They were so good. YUMMM! Although they do seem to taste just a little bit better when surrounded by that cushy atmosphere of Palos!

Happy Birthday Dan.

I am now officially a Queen because I have a crown (in my mouth).

I even got the kids to call me Her Royal Highness. ;)

For those of us that want a wipe-off board that is easy to pack and Mickey / DISer themed... I have found the perfect thing at Wal-mart.
It consists of 2 placemats that you glue or stick together with sticky tape, place magnetic strips on the back and VIOLA... a wipe off board in the shape of a Mickey head. It is super thin so its easy to pack... and it is DISer Green/Blue ears... I did find another set of placemats in Gold/Red ears if someone wants a different color. It was less than $5 for the set of 2.
The stripy side is the back side... can't really see writing on that side, but it is very pretty... the Gold/Red mat is also stripy on the back side...

Those are very cool. Looks like I am going to Walmart this weekend. Wonder if our No. CA Walmart has the same thing? OH MY - something else to pack. At least these are small. My goal is to pack LIGHT this time. :rotfl2: I say that every time. That'll be the day!!

Question for all you DCL cruise experts. I have only sailed with DCL twice. The first time we did a Land/Sea package and the bus did not leave AK until after 1:00. We were almost one of the last ones on the ship. :rolleyes2

The second time we cruised was the PC Repo where they called by groups.

So - this is my question. How do they handle the regular boarding from PC? I want to get on the ship as early as possible. Really want to enjoy every second possible. If we were to take the transfer from the airport would we get there early enough or will it be more like a cattle call.

Is it worth it to stay at the Radisson and get there as early as possible?

Does the Radisson have a shuttle to the port and is it convenient. I read somewhere that you have to schedule and it is not easy? Not to mention I would be shlupping (sp) our luggage.

Sorry for so many questions. Just trying to work out the logistics for ease, convenience and as early as possible boarding. Kinda like we want to be the first ones on. I mean somebody has to be first! :woohoo: :bounce: :cheer2: :thumbsup2

Not like we are excited or anything. :yay: :yay: :yay:

TIA for any and all advice or recommendations.

If you are thinking of coming in a day early, you may just want to get a rental car from airport to port, use it that day to look around and have some fun. My hubby drops me at the port with the luggage, I go check in and get our kttw cards, he returns the car and meets me in the terminal. We rent from Budget, it is closest to port. We always book the Radisson, closest to port and a block away from budget. We have a great time the afternoon before, meeting the other cruisers, dinner at grills restaurant, etc. We love the radisson, the pool is excellent and the rooms are nice and very clean.

As far as boarding, they started the new number system or something since we have cruised last, so not sure how that works, but there is no more waiting in line to board the ship.

Susan as I understand it they board now they way we did in LA. When you arrive you get a number. When your number is called, that group boards. It is done in order of arrival to the port so it's kind of a line without the line. It's not random where someone arriving at the port at noon will board before someone arriving at 10:30. Pretty much everyone arriving at 10:30 will board in the same group.

WOW.. I didn't know you could do that!! .....My poor kids should be wearing a t-shirt that says: My parents went to Palo and had the Chocolate Souffle and all they could do is tell us how good it was!! :lmao: :lmao:

Sweet Sue, they actually brought them to the regular dining table!! That's the best!!................now I know!! :thumbsup2

Our 1st and only cruise was on the Magic, right after it was in Dry Dock, Oct 15, 2005. We stayed at the Raddisson and took the shuttle, we had scheduled the 1st shuttle, it was really easy!! We did have to bring our luggage to the front of the Raddisson and then when we got to the port it was unloaded and then loaded onto Disney's carts. When we got there the port just opened and was not that crowded....in fact we just walked in and checked in!!....we were in Group #2 :teeth: ............................then when it was time to get on the ship...........YOW  ...........no one listened to the Group #'s, they just all ran to the gate!! So we had to try to get through a Zillion people to get to the gate!! I am sure they have done something different!! They were not even taking Embarkation Photo's it was so crazy!!

We are staying at the Raddisson again, I just booked the room $149 includes free parking the duration of the cruise and 2 free breakfasts, since we drive it is worth it!! :cool1:

Just wanted to let those of you with children know that the contest will have seperate categories for families and adults only so be sure to let your kids help decorate if you want. :cool1: :thumbsup2

We will be staying at the park for 2 days after the cruise...(Fri/Sat) soooo... here's a question for the people that tend to know everything... like Tracy, Peter, Scott, and others.

Is there a special discount park ticket offer for DVC members? or Returning DCL cruisers? We are also a Military ID card holders, AAA members, and one of us is a Senior! hahaha trying to save money any way we can... ;)

first of all, you will be staying Thursday and Friday if you are staying 2 nights. I don't know about park tickets. I bought a multi-day pass last summer and still have plenty of days on it so I haven't been looking for deals. Sorry.
