Boy it is nice to finally be retired and have time to do things like this.

58 weeks for me, not that I am counting, but doubt if I will take up sewing, then again you never know.

For those of us that want a wipe-off board that is easy to pack and Mickey / DISer themed... I have found the perfect thing at Wal-mart.
It consists of 2 placemats that you glue or stick together with sticky tape, place magnetic strips on the back and VIOLA... a wipe off board in the shape of a Mickey head. It is super thin so its easy to pack... and it is DISer Green/Blue ears... I did find another set of placemats in Gold/Red ears if someone wants a different color. It was less than $5 for the set of 2.
The stripy side is the back side... can't really see writing on that side, but it is very pretty... the Gold/Red mat is also stripy on the back side...

Sounds like you live in South Florida - oh WAIT - you DO live in South Florida! :lmao:

Isn't h. remodeling great fun? I'm already on my second flooring now. Had a beautiful wood floor laid down (the old one got a bit soggy from the H.), then the lovely wood people realized they were about 3 feet short. Of course they couldn't find wood to match! So, up it came. That's why I had to go on a cruise last weekend. So they could tear up the floor! Okay, so that's my story and I'm sticking to it! :teeth:

Good luck!

Sweet Sue

LOL Sue, our tax guy was just telling us his home remodel nightmares. Unfortunately we are renting down here and we are at the mercy of the landlord...even more of a nightmare. We are will probably be here another 3 or 4 years yet. Needless to say, we are house hunting.

So, where in south FL are you? We are in Davie.

Well I hear property values have hit a bit of a low right now. Give it another hurricane season like last year and S. Florida should be cheap!

We're in Lauderdale by the Sea. My DD goes to an art class in Davie at the Young at Art Children's Museum. I don't know how far that is from your neck of the woods, but maybe we could meet up some Tuesday night? PM me if you have a chance.

Scott,

Sewing isn't the only thing you have time for. Retireing is the best thing I ever did. :cool1: :rotfl2: :lmao: You will love it. Everyone told me I would and they were right. Time to play and have fun   :Pinkbounc without work to get in the way.

Hope someone can help . . . . .

We want to buy a new camcorder. We were going to go with the little dvd ones but now they have a new camcorder made by JVC that is a hard drive. As you can tell from our little photo posting problem (still don't know how to make the photo's smaller), we aren't the most technology advanced people. However, the hard drive concept seems interesting. Does anyone have experience with either? We have an Mac and wonder if they are compatible. It seems that they are. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

The only problem with a hard drive camera is if it is dropped the hard drive could crash. To my way of thinking, I would not want something that could crash it if is bumped too hard or has a spinning disc to worry about. I have not looked at the camera in question. Someone else may have a better thought. Just my .02 cents on the subject.

If the camera has a usb or firewire port it will be compatibile with your mac.

Pirates have been spotted in the Chesapeake Bay! It is the Black Pearl and her mates. They seem to be heading for Baltimore Inner Harbor. Baltimore is a stop for the Volvo Ocean Race. The Black Pearl is the American sailing vessel sponored by Disney. She is easy to spot, decorated with the skull and cross bones logo of the movie.

I have been gone from the boards for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time. I have like 49 pages to read. I have been doing my best to skim through them. And I always get verbal updates from my mother. :hyper2: I am starting work on personalizing my Fish Extender today. Muah ha ha ha haaaaa. :hmghost: Watch out everybody, let the competition begin!! :stir: :goodvibes :rotfl2:

Does anyone have a picture of the Black Pearl?

Suecot2000, KEWL!!!, I have been following the race, pretty neat. Last I remember they were in third or fourth. The Volvo race used to called the Whitbred, again I date myself. Would love to be closer to see those sailing vessels.

I went to the Inner Harbor today to see if I could get a picture of the Black Pearl, but she was already on her way to dry dock. I did manage to get a Pirates of the Caribbean hat and t-shirt. They are really nice with all the stops of the Volvo Race. But those of you who want to know more about the Black Pearl here is a link to the web site.http://www.blackpearlracing.com/base.asp
