Hello all,

This morning, after 46 nights, we arrived at the Port of Los Angeles. It was an incredible trip, with many diverse ports and excursions.

We docked overnight in Buenos Aires, Argentina. On the second day, we went horseback riding with gauchos at El Ombu de Areco.

In Ushuaia (the southernmost city in South America), Mrs. Woody walked among penguins.

It was fab.

WELCOME BACK!!!

Did you have an asado at the estancia?? Did you try the Malbec wine? My mother & aunt really enjoyed the penquins too! Hope you post some pics.

Got our airfare today!!!!:thumbsup2

Still have a while to wiat for Southwest to open up our 'window'...sometime first week of April. :sad2:
.

We are also waiting anxiously for Southwest to release their fares!
I really hope they have some deals, because we just found out we are going to have to replace at least some of our heating/cooling system in our house, probably in April/May. So far the estimates are very shocking - all are five figures! :scared1: I guess we won't be trying to slip in DL this summer like we hoped.

Southwest doesn't fly here so not an option for us. Gotta drive two hours north or south to fly on Southwest. Delta is about the only real option for us here, just gotta go through Atlanta.

That makes it more real, doesn't it :thumbsup2

Yes it does, kind of the final piece of the puzzle.

Hey Emily, just had to jump in and say "Hi" Congrats on the airfare, would it not be cheaper to drive down here and fly Southwest? Come Sept., we should be able to fly for $49.00 oneway....that is if the Company is still in business:scared1:

Tina and Josh are headed your way, they are going to the Space and Rocket Center. This is one of Josh's home school field trips....

So we just finalized our flights today too. We are flying in via Tampa and spending a week in Kissimmee before the cruise.

OK, now I am officially excited    its more final!

Hey Keith!!! It might be, but it's just the hassle of having to drive two hours at the start and especially the end of the vacation, plus depending on what gas is costing come Sept. who knows.

We used to fly out of B'ham and Nashville all the time, but dad just got tired of driving back and forth between the two, that he would just rather pay more and fly from here in most cases.

I hope you guys are still in business, you guys work so hard I'd hate to see you lose it.:grouphug:

They'll have a great time at the Space Center. We haven't been over there since they opened the new area, but they really did a nice job on it.

We're waiting for Southwest to open up for September so we can book our airfare as well.

Anyone book any excursions yet? I booked a 1/2 day sail for St. Thomas in the morning with a private charter to do some snorkeling. Then we plan on doing a little shopping in the afternoon and maybe hit Mountaintop. I'm not sure about Tortola yet. We're leaning towards going to the Baths though. Anyone else?

I'm really leaning towards Snuba & Swim with the Sea lions at Coral World - not sure yet about Tortola either. Thinking about going up to the viewing area (is that Mountaintop?) and try the special drink that they serve up there :rotfl:

Ahh, you must mean the famous mean the banana daiquiri. :drinking1 :thumbsup2

Mountain Top is in St. Thomas BTW. You can read more here. ;)

105 booking day for us is May 30. I looked at the Tortola excursions some and there was a land and sea tour that looked interesting. And as far as St. Thomas goes there will definately be shopping,:thumbsup2 but as far as an excursion the only thing we might to is go over to St. John since that's the only thing we haven't done yet.

:lmao: Oh good, I believe I remember what you're business is and in times like these we could all use a little of that.:drinking1 Jason & I need to drive down and check out your store sometime.:thumbsup2

But you are right, there's no telling what the gov't might own before this is over.

I was looking at a video of Mountaintop. Looked great, and an amazing view. There is also the cable car at St Thomas, or is it St. John. that view down to the ships looks lovely. Not sure which to do.

Tortola I just don't know. I'm looking forward to reading about the first DCL Tortola cruise there.

I have saved your link at the bottom of post 1 under St. Thomas sky ride. Thanks for sharing.
:goodvibes

I checked AirTran, it's $83 per person each way, but I am still not sure who we will fly. I have a $114 credit on SW, but I'm not sure if we will go out of O'hare or Midway.

O'Hare is 13 miles away, so we can just take a cab, for about $25 or so, Midway is about a $60 at least. I don't think we'd be able to manage all the luggage via public transportation.

On the flip-side, everyone except for SW charges for luggage and I can see that we will have about 4 bags with us.
